It's planet Zorya from Zaeed DLC.

Huh. Well that sure blows my guess of Virmire out of the water. I never had this DLC so this is the first I've seen of it. Any other planets we've seen with 2 moons?

Or, my theory... It's none of them, and yet all of them, The planet is an idealized composite of Vermire, Zorya, and several others. look closely to joker's right, the patch of trees highlighted, which is the same patch on Zorya? It's repeated again right over Joker's shoulder.

If you look in that bottom left image you can also see that patch repeated.

Not that I disagree, since I think it's symbolic I don't think it's any literal planet.

So how tricky is getting at all this stuff anyway?

Just run the PCC file into an application and cycle through the low res textures. So far that ancient city texture is just a blue and cream color, but are supposed to be stone. I'm still leaning towards the possibility that EC was actually in the game and they took it out, leaving these small peices behind. Everything else is recognizable. Did u guys know there are cerberus troop bodies on the citadel as well?

Also, someone else has volunteered to do the same as you, don't suppose you can help him out with the process?

How much "reusing" does Bioware tend to due? For example if we were to go level by level looking, how many things from say the Citadel would we find on Thessia? (Or vice versa).

Because there is a hell of a lot of reusing at the end. Now if this is common throughout the whole series it can be overlooked, but if they just so happen to take things from everywhere Shep has been and only use it in this ending sequence.... Well I think you can add it to possible IT evidence.

The reusing of the planet from Zaeed's DLC really strikes me as odd. If they wanted to reuse it just to save time, why not delete the obvious double moon/planet in the sky and replace it with something generic? It's like pretending something takes place in LA even though you can see the Statue of Liberty in the background.

Yeah, did I mention how hard it would even be to crashland on Zaeed's DLC coming from the Local Cluster? The odds are pretty bad.

Why vermire?

Also 2175 Aiea from Jacob's loyalty mission has a very similar double moon and similar rock bluffs.

Because Virmire looks pretty similar (no idea about moons though) and because you lost a squadmate there.

And you're right, that planet has the (exact :S ) same double moons. What clinched it for us is that you can see a specific clump of trees that are on Zorya that are in the ending scene. And I don't mean they resemble it, they are it exactly.

Vermire because I'm trying to incorporate Arian's idea since I agree that it's reasonable that they're not ACTUALLY landing on a planet but they could be landing on a composite of planets Shep has been on. It just seems to mostly resemble Zorya.

Also, Aiea is bad. The food is poisonous and causes nervous system damage. I don't think Shepherd would want his/her friends to land on a poisonous planet as a symbol of hope...

Possible idea: if we got clips from the background of Aiea perhaps we can see it in this picture, the way we did with Zorya. If it really is a composite image of various planets...

While looking at the files I may have discovered something truly horrific!

There are assets from The Ancient Krogan City and Thessia in the last level.

Two of the planets that were supposedly going to be in the EC but was said to be fake.

Could part of the EC be already on the disk?  [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/surprised.png[/smilie]

I'm looking for a way to view the assets.

You mean even more stuff from place Shepard has been before happen to be incorporated into the last area?

Nah, unless they change the Reapers motivations back to the Dark Energy thing, then they already changed the artistic vision of the original writer, and cannot claim artistic integrity as a defense.
Ah but that was due to the script leak wasn't it? Artistic integrity only applies once you've finished a story and released it, not while you write it. Rewrites happen all the time.
Also, recall that Mass Effect in general, although primarily the brainchild of Drew Karpyshyn, is still something that was written by committee.

In a way the reapers created us. Our tech is based off their tech. our knowledge is based off a lot of their knowledge. They could be classified as our creators. Their logic that the created will always rebel against their creators makes them want to snuff us out before the point we could pose a significant threat to them. We have already started our rebellion against them after all.
