well obviously it's not literal since we all agree the end scenes are shepherd's dream. But there is some evidence to suggest Zorya with a touch of Vermire. (mostly Zorya though I think)

Why vermire?

Also 2175 Aiea from Jacob's loyalty mission has a very similar double moon and similar rock bluffs.

Vermire because I'm trying to incorporate Arian's idea since I agree that it's reasonable that they're not ACTUALLY landing on a planet but they could be landing on a composite of planets Shep has been on. It just seems to mostly resemble Zorya.

Also, Aiea is bad. The food is poisonous and causes nervous system damage. I don't think Shepherd would want his/her friends to land on a poisonous planet as a symbol of hope...

Possible idea: if we got clips from the background of Aiea perhaps we can see it in this picture, the way we did with Zorya. If it really is a composite image of various planets...

I could accept visual evidence of Aeia. It's just hard for me to imagine Shep dreaming of it as hope after the horrors it unleashed on Jacob's father's crew. That the only problem I have. But if it is also Aeia, then a composite planet can only strengthen the theory.

I love this. This is spot on.

They are our Gods, our parents, our ancestors, and it is in the nature of children to rebel.

Oh man, so the entire series was about daddy issues. No wonder so many of the loyalty missions in ME2 involved them.

How much "reusing" does Bioware tend to due? For example if we were to go level by level looking, how many things from say the Citadel would we find on Thessia? (Or vice versa).

Because there is a hell of a lot of reusing at the end. Now if this is common throughout the whole series it can be overlooked, but if they just so happen to take things from everywhere Shep has been and only use it in this ending sequence.... Well I think you can add it to possible IT evidence.

The reusing of the planet from Zaeed's DLC really strikes me as odd. If they wanted to reuse it just to save time, why not delete the obvious double moon/planet in the sky and replace it with something generic? It's like pretending something takes place in LA even though you can see the Statue of Liberty in the background.

Re-use of textures and models in the single-player campaigns has been fairly limited and obvious: enemy mobs are reused, weapons are reused, certain minor textures and models, (tubing, wires, computer desks, etc.)- pretty straight forward stuff.

The bulk of playable zones are distinguishable, however. What, I feel, is more interesting is the mating between what is clearly unique and what is generic. For instance, Reaper canons rarely leave remains behind, yet the field is scattered with them when you wake up from Harbinger's blast. This is a disconnect from the vaporizing going on during the initial charge scene and easily pointed out during QA overview, in the event that two teams made those scenes.

And to create order.

They don't see themselves as destroyers. They aren't killing us, they're helping us "grow up" aiding with the birth of a superior life form from an inferior bunch of children.

That alone, a sick, twisted parody of birth through death, just made the Reapers scary again.

Hi y'all, i am heading to bed but wanted to pop in and say thanks for keeping this thread so consistently entertaining! Waiting for the EC is bad enough, but without having this thread to satisfy my "SPECULATION FOR EVERYBODY!" urges, things would be much worse.

Keep up the good work!

They are preserving our cultural identity at the height of it's power, and at the same time, stripping us of those unecessary individualities that make each species unique and uniting us in their perfection and order. They are the most superior form of life, one that is the pinnacle and apex of evoloution, perfectly suited to every imaginable suitation, guided by a gestalt of all sentient minds. They make us perfect, and propegate their own perfection at once.

Organic life is clearly superior, it grows, changes, adapts and overcomes it's enviroment through trial, error and sacrifice, and will continude to do so, unrestricted by programming. Synthetics do not, they adapt the enviroment to their needs, they are inferior, and favor sameness, chosing the same, tried and tested route, following pure logic down trails already trodden.

By destroying us at our height, there is no chance to lose our greatness, and by allowing organic species to flourish, and ensuring so with the destruction of synthetic life, then they can ensure there are almost more great things accomplished, and always more bodies to fuel their ongoing perfection.

At least, that's how they see it.

(also, on a side note, that is one thing I realized, why I can accept that all husks look the same, when normally I see zombies and undead that all look the same, I go "nah, come on, they couldn't have all died that way, give me a break and a bit of variety, Husks, they're machined, they can and probably will all look the same. Conformity.)

My fuzzy backside!

Whatever they were, they're gone now. What's left can accurately be described as demonic: they seek to control, manipulate, destroy and oppress. They aren't satisfied with taking the body, they want the mind and soul as well.

They deserve our rebellion.

The Reapers aren't evil, they're simply... alien, and so far beyond our understanding as to be incomprehensible.

A being that is alien in its conciousness and perception could appear evil to us, but in actuality, it could just be performing whatever actions its nature dictates.

In our little corner of the forums, we see a pattern begin to emerge from the current situation:
- Bioware takes on the role of the Reapers, attempting to decimate and indoctrinate their fanbase through coercive writing.
- The fans who refuse to "think" in any sense of the term immediately begin to stamp their feet and yell. They have been indoctrinated.
- The fans who contribute to this thread. They have recognized the indoctrination attempt, broken free, and are still waiting for their time to arrive.

I only hope Bioware is just the biggest frakkin' trolls on the planet, and not the densest. "Artistic license"? Please.

Then evil doesn't exist. And neither does good. Nor order. Nor chaos.

When you remove comprehensive definitions and perspectives, life and its value begin to jar and flux. Society and its worth begin to deteriorate. In war, this is deadly and finite.

The Reaper's have a drive. They have motives, perspectives and definitions. Their resolve, if the Indoc Theory is true, is infinite. They will not attempt to understand us nor give us the benefit of doubt. To fail to defy them with lasting resolve is to be consumed by them.

My question has always been, if the Reapers harvest organic life to bring order to the universe, then why not harvest ALL organic life once and for all? Is it because harvesting is the only purpose of the Reapers? If the Reapers cease to have organic life to harvest do they cease to have purpose, and by extension, cease to exist?
