Not that I am aware of.

It was believed that their Q&A statements insinuated it during the Extended Cut Press Release, but direct confrontation at PAX came back ambiguous.

According to one of the comments, Bioware confirmed Joker is picking up the crew in the extended cut. But I saw no links to this. I'm not jumping to conclusions.

With the way BioWare's staff have been talking about interpretations, I'm thinking they'll probably do the smart, "pacifistic" thing with the extended cut and write cleverly non-committal exposition that will still leave it as a possibility ... without confirming it. It'd be a ballsy move to outright claim it to be true, and I'd love to see that, but I think they'll attempt to please both camps at this point.

My fuzzy backside!

Whatever they were, they're gone now. What's left can accurately be described as demonic: they seek to control, manipulate, destroy and oppress. They aren't satisfied with taking the body, they want the mind and soul as well.

They deserve our rebellion.

The Reapers aren't evil, they're simply... alien, and so far beyond our understanding as to be incomprehensible.

My question has always been, if the Reapers harvest organic life to bring order to the universe, then why not harvest ALL organic life once and for all? Is it because harvesting is the only purpose of the Reapers? If the Reapers cease to have organic life to harvest do they cease to have purpose, and by extension, cease to exist?

If the Space Brat was telling the truth, the Reapers respect organic life but not in the same way that humans do. They likely see each species as deserving a chance to develop to a certain point, but not beyond. At that point, they remove the dominant beings to give the others a shot. It is a radical notion, but not foreign- certain environmentalist extremists have desired, but never been able to produce, weaponry to remove humanity in the name of "everything else".

Personally, I've equated their "order" as simple control from beings with a god mentality. They allow species to evolve and adapt the Reaper tech in order to show their worth. When the Reapers return, they judge the species- those worthy will be "ascended" to Reaper "Godhood"; those not, will be destroyed or used in whatever way is most expedient.

I wouldn't call it ballsy- they openly admitted they wanted the ending to stimulate debate amongst the community. Now, assuming that those comments weren't Bioware "popping flares", (which is basically the untone of the Indoc. Theorists- give the Devs the benefit of the doubt), that leaves the obvious consideration that we were ment to discover IT.

But you stating that someone at BW said Joker picked them up...I'm just asking for a clear show of that statement. It's not something that is extreme to ask for in an arguement. Even the person who stated that the normandy landed on Zorya provied something to support his clains.(Even if it turned out wrong any way.)
There is no one in this topic who made a solid arguement with out proving fact to the claim. To ask someone to do the same curtacy is not a strech.

well obviously it's not literal since we all agree the end scenes are shepherd's dream. But there is some evidence to suggest Zorya with a touch of Vermire. (mostly Zorya though I think)

Why vermire?

Also 2175 Aiea from Jacob's loyalty mission has a very similar double moon and similar rock bluffs.

Vermire because I'm trying to incorporate Arian's idea since I agree that it's reasonable that they're not ACTUALLY landing on a planet but they could be landing on a composite of planets Shep has been on. It just seems to mostly resemble Zorya.

Also, Aiea is bad. The food is poisonous and causes nervous system damage. I don't think Shepherd would want his/her friends to land on a poisonous planet as a symbol of hope...

I understand the concept, and I saw the photos of zorya earlier. I just wasn't sure what similarities virmire had with it. And I was positing another planet for the composite.

2175 Aiea is also on the exact opposite end of the galaxy from the local cluster. And would be just as hard to get to as Zorya (3 relay jumps and 1 FTL jump).

True story: When I finished ME3 the first time and saw that planet I thought: Why the **** did the normandy land on Aiea?

Ahh I misunderstood your comment my apologies. I can't screen grab it but I can copy and paste the comment, It's right under the poll if you follow the link.

Griesyburger2012-04-18 06:44 PMIt's
been confirmed that Joker is picking up the rest of Shepard's crew
which means all the other cutscenes will be just as pointless and
confusing

Still there's no link so I'm not buying it until I see one.

Agreed. For me thats the worst thing about the Reapers. Allowing life to evolve to the point of a, possible, major evolutionary leap just to crush them before they reach it. Also, alot of what they do seems to be self fulfilling prophecy. I'm thinking of the in game theory that the Reapers were resposible for the Rachni war. It just seems that the Reapers have alot of ulterior motives that may NOT be so far beyond our comprehension.

A being that is alien in its conciousness and perception could appear evil to us, but in actuality, it could just be performing whatever actions its nature dictates.

Conscious thought, self awareness, and the capacity for empathy are hallmarks of higher life forms. Whatever the reapers are up to, it certainly isn't sympathetic to sentient life

There is a lot of self-fullfilling behavior with the Reapers.

And if the Rachni queen is to be believed, it's not a theory- they were responsible.

For one, that concept of the reaper perspective on life was shown in ME2 with the baby reaper and the collectors.
The other parts come from Sovergin and the rennoch reaper.
The truth is the star child never provied anything new to the arguement, he just reused what other reapers have stated.
The next problem is there really is no way to find out if the star kid is telling the truth. Much of what he states counter what was stated and shown before as fact...This normal happen when someone is lieing.
I do agree they think they are trying to help us but I feel they are still not trying to debate with us about it yet. That they are still trying to force us.
