Pro-IT group: Look at this antenna in an area where no human has ever been. It's got human writing on it!
Anti-IT group: So? Models are recycled constantly. Means nothing.
Pro-IT group: Okay then, look at this weird warning label in the prologue. It's a brain/head damage warning and not found anywhere else in the game!
Anti-IT group: So? It's limited to high tech human areas, and there aren't any others. Means nothing.

Pro-IT group: How does Shepard breathe in the Citadel at the end? He's in open space.
Anti-IT group: Mass effect barriers to keep oxygen in.
Pro-IT group: Okay then, how does he survive this massive explosion? That's like a goddamn nuclear bomb.
Anti-IT group: Explosions expand much farther in space because there's no oxygen.
Pro-IT group: But you just said--
Anti-IT group: You're grasping at straws rofl, conspiracy nut.
Meme-er: You mean "emergency induction ports" lawl

There is literally no reasoning with anti-ITers. The krogan might as well try to debate the genophage into realizing its wrong.

It's funny how these things work both ways, as seen in this thread...sadly. Besides I never really argued about the other aformentioned issues, I was just discussing the reservations I had about this tidbit of information. Make of that what you will.

What's the point of indoctrination anyway if the current ending is to be taken by face value? Why would the godchild grant that ability to the Reapers he created? He just wanted robots that would make pew pew and kill civilisations.

Except.. maybe the kid is right and the created DO always rebel against their creators, and the reapers invented indoctrination on their own.

The Crucible changed his mind. He says it opened up new possibilities but he's unable to make the choice. Also he controls the reapers but didn't say he created them.

I think he does.. can anyone confirm/deny that?
Also I don't think you get what I'm saying.. I meant to ask why Reapers should have the power of indoctrination if their task is just to kill certain organics

Oh. That's a good point. I guess it's more about hiding their identity as much as possible while working againsts organics.

If Sovereign just showed up at the Citadel with no help, he'd get damaged heavily and risk the arms being closed. Since the Citadel is theirs, it probably wouldn't be interested in damaging the Citadel.

Then you need ground forces. Indoctrination lets you use your enemie's civilians as your army.

Also could explain why it took the council so long to accept that the reapers are here. Maybe there is a mild form of indoctrination in the citadel

No i think it was plain fear and denial. Otherwise, how do you explain people on other planets including the earth not believing you?

I feel that if there was a low level indoctrination going on, everyone would be slowly embracing the reapers, not preparing to fight them.

My thoughts exactly, I can deal with dissapointing games or endings from companies, it happens to the best of them (Dragon Age 2 and ME3's ending, ofcourse) but it's the way BioWare has dealt with the situation that's just annoying. I feel that whatever you ask/say they'll give some generic response and they've never given us some real useful information.. Never did anyone there write a blog or something saying: ''Alright guys, I know you don't like the ending, this is what we're going to do about it.'' Now we apparently have an Extended Cut coming where Jessica Merizan is giving us all kinds of info that doesn't seem logical, it's like she has no idea what she's taking about, everything they (BW) say can be taken the wrong way and their ''wink-wink'' tweets are getting old. I honestly feel like they're treating us like a bunch of kids, and that's the worst way they could've handled this situation. I can't tell you how many times I tweeted towards BioWare, and the few times they did tweet back they said things like ''Thanks for the suggestion!''... That's just a polite way of saying ''Shut up''.

So basically your saying you support ****ty endings, false advertising and lying companies.

How do you draw that conclusion after reading that? All I said was I won't bash a company for making a bad ending, they even promised to give us the extended cut. Name one company that never made a bad game.. right, after that all I did was criticize BW for the way they handled this. Take your medicine.

Not at all. I just don't see why I should deprive myself of any brilliant games in the future. Ultimately not buying a new game only spites myself.

IF they didn't really plan IT, then they did a lot more than make a bad ending. They made a ton of statements about the ending that are 100% bald-faced lies. IT is really the only way most of those promises weren't simply lies. There's nothing vague or misinterpretable about statements like "the rachni will play a major role in the final battle" or "you'll get answers to everything about the Reapers", or everyone's favorite "you won't be able to categorize them as A, B, C."

To be fairly honest, I have no memory of what signs I ran into along the way (nor do I care actually) and if someone did meticolously spent his time scanning every planet and noting them down, good for them, I'll take their word. To me it just seems like a longshot and too minor to be anything more than a coincidence, but I guess only time will give the final word on this (at least, I hope it does).

All true, but I still can't honestly say I'll never buy another BioWare game as a result. Believe me, I want IT to be true as much as anyone else here, and I do believe it is. I'm just not going to deprive myself of more potentially awesome games down the line out of spite, because the only person who would lose out would be me.

I know it doesn't make up for the fact that as things stand, replaying the game feels pretty futile, but it's worth remembering that before the ending, the previous 99.9% of the game was a masterclass, for me easily the best in the series.

Not arguing your point, I'm just saying that's how companies like EA will see it.. I mean look at what COD turned into,...

Fair. I still think there's a way to go before they're churning out a recycled Mass Effect clone game every year though. When that happens, they'll definitely lose my purchase.

I found the bolt/head sign in a texture file combined with other caution signs. It was packaged with Citadel stuff.

Additionally, reapers are named Sovereign, at least the standard ones we see in the beginning and during the final attack.

I haven't found harbinger yet but the child is named two thing. Child and Guardian. This implies that there is a Child at one point and Guardian, although looks like the child, is a seperate character.

Sorry, Lex0r11 only taught me the one phrase. The only other German phrase I know is .... very impolite. :innocent:

If I remember correctly there are indeed packages named "child" and "guardian", but there is actually only one "child" model. It is re-used in different packages and is named "..._GRD_....".
I'll check and post a screenshot later.

In other words, you have no idea what the hell you're talking about. But I guess we could gather that from the fact you thought signs in the prologue couldn't be used elsewhere. Regardless, "it seems like a longshot to me" was not your original point. Your original point was that "but it's a human head so you could only see it on Earth" nonsense which we didn't even use all the ways possible to prove wrong. Like the fact that such a simple drawing doesn't show enough detail to preclude races like asari.
