Yeah.

I rushed through the game because I only had a few weeks before heading to japan for two weeks so i reached the ending within 5 days. Even then I had heard snippets of how bad the ending was, but my eternal optimism told me that "It cant be that bad, right?" Boy was I wrong...

From the moment that Kid appeared I was like "WTF!" (add more exclamation marks to get an idea of my reaction as the conversation with Star Bieber progressed) and afterwards I was in complete denial. That could not be the choices presented to me.

I was pure Paragon at this time, but Control I rejected control more than if it had been a river of lava I had been told was clean water. Synthesis was tempting, but Legion and the Geth wish of choosing for themsleves made me shy away leaving only Destroy...

For a long moment I stood there, i dident want the Geth or EDI to die, but I was not letting the Reapers walk out of this alive and above all everything just felt wrong. So I walked forward and took the shot.

The cutscenes following was a greeted by varius expressions of WTF until the Shep breath scene, that is when I realized the little Brat had been lying on at least one part...possibly more and it gave me hope, a hope that turned into burning realization upon meeting this thread.

The first time I beat the game I stared at the screen for like 20 min. with the biggest WTF look on my face. I had to go to class later that day and people kept asking me why I was so pissed and the only thing I could tell them was "They f***ing ruined it. They F***ed it it all to hell and back."

I went to go get this clip for you, and lol'd pretty hard at the top comment.

The first time I beat the game, I was sitting and looking at the credits roll together with my fiancee, while we both were crying.
We both had been experiencing Mass Effect together since it came out for the PC in 2008, and watching the series end like this... I don't know, man, Idon't know...
Holy hell, was that depressing!

What's up people? Have BioWare confirmed the Grand Nanite-Indoctrination Theory yet?

Here you go.  I never actually liked that scene.

Shepard isnt that stupid. S/he would've known EDI was joking.

Cant give you that, but I can give you what Shepard would have done if he had known:

My office got me a cake and a card to cheer me up when I came in the following day because of how livid I was.
I knew something was wrong but when nothing came after the breath I was just anger incarnate. Glad I didn't have a case that day. Anger would have clouded my cold logical reasoning.

No. Beating the game was a terrible experience. I still have nightmares of that night.

I ve played through the game two more times and both times I stop before the end because I hate it so much!

I have no problem replaying the game, as a matter of fact. I'm on my 6th playthrough right now, actually!
My advice: Try remembering all the wonderful things you experienced in the game, and hold on to those feelings, then you shouldn't have a problem replaying it!

Agreed.

Agreed here too. The first timeI beat the game I wasn't horryfied or anything, just disappointed that I didn't get closure, what happened to all those races I brought togather etc.. I totally expected them to show more but then the credits roll with Casey Hudson's name and I was like -______-
But IT or not, my paragade Shepard would always choose destroy, no matter the cost. She aint the one to let the reapers get away just because there would be some collateral damage.

And yes, the game on the whole is brilliant, the best ME in the series, on my 4th playthrough now, just about to hit Tuchanka ;)

As here are obviously many people who believe in the IT, I got a question and I would like someone to answer it.
Don't get my wrong, I really like the IT and I'd love to believe in it. Thinking about all the things in-game, the IT seemed to be the best and most plausible idea to explain that horrible, senseless ending. While I played I was already thinking: No, something's wrong here, nothing of it seems real, more like a dream, the most noticeable thing being Anderson representing the "Rengade" choice while TIM represents the "Paragon" choice - and the fact that the wake up-scene only can appear after the desctruction end.
I was pretty convinced the IT is right. There also was that Twitter stuff with BioWare people saying stuff like: "We keep our save games, that's for sure" or "Would love to spoil right now, but I just can't" or "Just wait, people, there's something awesome coming."

So IT probably correct, everything great. But now there's my problem:
As people are protesting so much, some are even giving back their games and get their money back. Plus, the game's prices have dropped significantly in a pretty short time, most likely due to the ending. So if the IT is what BioWare intended all along: Why don't they tell us right now?! I mean the ending sucked, but BW is not brain-dead, if they hab an opportunity to stop this loss of money right now, then they would go for it, of course. No company which is loosing money but has the opportunity to stop it would not hesitate to do it just because they would tell people earlier then planned or to wait until more players have bought and finished the game before they can reveal their great surprise.

This is what's been bothering me about the IT, so I would like to hear your thoughts or explanations.

Oh forgot to add one thing. In between watching the ending and finding this thread I had a playlist of MLP: FiM songs on repeat with Smile Smile Smile at the very least as every second song to keep away the anger.

Maybe EA forced Bioware to get the game out by March in order to get better sells. With EA's demand, Bioware used the Indoc Theory and Bioware can't come out and say EA told them to get the game out by March (as they may lose their jobs).

You got a good point, but why couldn't they just affirm (or deny) that the IT is right? They woudln't have to blame EA or tell us why they did things like this, but just tell is if we should have hopes about the IT or not. If the IT were right and they would just tell us it is, they could calm down many people and probably even reduce their loss of money.

@storm

one possiblity is that to make a really grand ending they wanted player feedback in how best to end it. Leave it open enough for interpretation at the start, then take feedback and use it to craft a better end.

I asked myself why can't they just come out and say the indoc theory is true. The only thing I can thing of is to maybe keep the surpise or they have to come out and say the game wasn't complete and they lied to us.

They have no reason to show their hand. We will keep guessing, no matter what.

I did the same. I also was pure Paragon I wanted choose synthesis at first, looked the best for me but then I thought "No, I came here to destroy Reapers" and that is what i did. Then was "breath scene" and "one more story" and I was sure that is not the end yet.

Shocking Discovery!

The decision chamber may have had trees initially. I found a pic inside of the texture files showing very low res trees around the edges. These trees are named presidium trees.

Now before you guys go on dream mode let me say that those tree could have been shifted there from the presidium just like the antenna.

In either case, looks like Bioware wanted to have the end feel much more trippy than it did.
