The ones that got me were the deaths or near deaths. Mordin, Thane, Grunt, those really got to me.

I wonder if Grunt can die if you screw something up along the way. Like not doing his loyalty mission in 2. Or maybe Grunt's just really that badass. If so, wow. 'cuz ravagers cause me more problems than any other reaper unit. Yes, including banshees. Though they often team up and it's not remotely cool. Banshee forces you out of cover and ravagers at range start their uber cannon fire.

I couldn't stop laughing when I heard him sing for the first time in ME 2.

ME 1 and 2 had so many hilarious moments. That's the one area I felt 3 really feel short: comedy. I'd bust a gut at some of the stuff said in the first 2. There's some comedy in the 3rd, but it's mostly EDI. Nothing against EDI, of course, just saying it's mostly her.

(After killing the rachni queen)
Turian councilor: Do you enjoy committing genocide, Commander?
Shepard: Depends on the species, turian.

Lor'ik Qu'in: Now that you have my property you want to dictate how I use it?
Shepard: I just saved you from a nasty prison shower scene!

Ashley: You questioned my competence through the entire mission!
Shepard: Best way to stop that is to show me you're competent!

(After Conrad asks to become the second human spectre)
Shepard: Conrad, I haven't been shot in the head nearly enough times to make that sound like a good idea.

Ahh, I could go on forever...

Can you be more specific? I want to search for the specific cultures, though I assume you mean the Aztec/Mayans.

On that note: How is our "Modern" culture any different? just replace "the sun" with "God"

I can't believe we're still on this. No, really, I can't. Are you guys just screwing with me? It's incredibly simple: killing things that have any real thought process beyond "don't go into the predator's mouth" or emotions is bad unless they're some kind of theat. We're fuzzy on where that line is drawn because it's not like we can ask animals in question. But there's no question for organics from the Reaper's perspective. They talk to organics. That alone proves without doubt that they recognize higher thought processes in them. Do you have a chat with a fly before squashing it? No, it's a fly, it has no understanding. There's no point.

The Reapers' genocides are not like a human using antibacterial soap. The Reapers' genocides are like a human that tortures and murders small animals for fun, except on a scale billions of times larger.

I would like to have Traynor and Tali as LIs.

Yea at the mission at Eden Prime, Bioware wanted to force a romance with Kaidan or Ash.

Well that didnt work too well, since Kaidan ate a nuke on Virmire and I had already rejected him for Liara. :D

Playing Mass Effect 1, it felt that Kaidan was meant to die in that mission. Also he was the NPC without family to go to as Ash had her sisters and mother.

I played through her romance twice. I just didnt really care too much for it.

Probably because I liked her in ME2 since she was shy and awkward. Or as TV Tropes would put it, Adorkable.

Talking about her relationship with Shep and flirting with him in front of complete strangers didnt really seem to fit her.

Also, the "I love you!" line was ruined by Shepard thinking he could pull off acting like Han Solo.

And he cant. MaleShep is nowhere near as cool as Han Solo.

Male Shepard is millions of times cooler then Han Solo, he'll Kaiden is hundreds of times cooler then Han Solo ( I hated Kaiden very much for some reason, though I think I would have liked him better if he was gay maybe it was that damn Carth Onasi voice), I will say Han Solo is cooler then Jacob though everybody is cooler then Jacob( Stupid Kanye West lookalike)

As always my opinion but I'm :o:O:O

Kaidan actually does have family. But yeah, Ash being way closer to her family is why I always save her.

Kaidan was originally planned to be a romance option for MaleShep in ME1, and IS a romance option for MaleShep in ME3. So he's at least bi.

I didn't know Kaidan had a family. Still it felt like Bioware's writers at the time meant for him to die.

You shot Mordin in the back with he gun he gave you as a sign of good faith! You can't "how dare you" me!

Liara's nice, but I'm not big on the asari aspect. You'll never grow old together and by the end it'll be like she's taking care of her aging father. Shepard won't have control of his bowels anymore when Liara's reaching the equivilent of her 30's.

Shepard's like half robot. She'll live a lot longer than the average human, and the average human already lives to be like 150.

Oh wow. I can't disagree more there. I thought ME1's romances were the worst of any BW game I've played (that had romances I mean). The options were incredibly limited and the characters were boring. If you were male, you had Ashley and Liara. If you were female, you had Kaiden and Liara. Kaiden is quite possibly the most boring thing in the galaxy. We should weaponize him. Give him a megaphone and let him put the enemy forces to sleep. Liara turned into a great character but I have to say her ME1 roots were extremely bland. She was the super-innocent doe-in-the-headlights with very little depth. Joker said it best when he said turning into the Shadow Broker has made her a real cynic and he likes it. Ashley was the only one that didn't strike me as completely one-dimension, but that's still not saying much. And what I really hated about her is that the dialogue is set up so male Shepard is set to romancing her even if you didn't try to. You have to either be a douche to her, just not talk to her, or she'll show up at the romance scene when the Normandy gets grounded. I hate that.

ME2's romances were much better but I still found myself wishing they'd had a human female I never wanted to toss out the airlock. Miranda, despite being "Perfect™", sucks at thinking. The desk in her office is probably made of tungsten but she's hot enough to melt most metals on contact, but goddamn, everytime she opens her mouth she fills the room with incomprehensibly immense amounts of failure. If being wrong was an Olympic sport, Miranda Lawson wouldn't be able to move under the weight of all her gold medals. And Jack... Jack. No thanks. I'm not generally the macho type, but one of my rules to a relationship is that I have to have more testosterone than she does.

Sadly, no. Remember asari only use their mate's DNA to randomize their own. Shepard or Conrad Verner, it wouldn't really make a difference. :(

Gasp! We've found Jacob's one fan!

But seriously, Jacob was boring as hell in ME2, and to top it off, if you romanced him in ME2, he cheats on you in ME3 and wont take you back.

Best part: "I guess I've known Brynn for about a year now."

You've only been separated from Jacob for 6 months.

Plus Brynn herself is kind of odd.

She flat out tells you she knew Jacob was technically still in a relationship with Shepard, and went after him anyways, and then later she decides she wants to name her kid after Shepard.

I'll admit, that was not his best moment, but as a MAN I didn't have that problem. ;)  And in two, I didn't think he was boring, I thought he was the one relatively NORMAL guy on the crew.  And I LIKED that.  You have to have someone stable around to keep everyone from going nuts.

Seriously.  Since it has been objectively proven by six - SIX! - different kinds of science that  FemShep is overwhelmingly superior to MaleShep in every conceivable way, comments to the contrary elicit little more than a pity-filled sigh from me.  B)

Nope. BG, BG2, DA, DA2, ME1-3. Not into anything Star Wars, and I'd heard NWN was more about combat than story. Only romance I really loved was Anders. Which makes no sense because I don't swing that way, but damn, I want to see my Hawke merrily roaming the countryside with him blowing up concentration camps Chantries on our way to Val Royeaux with the plutonium.
