Possible.  Hard to rule anything like that out.  But I'd think if there was any real affect they'd have found it by now.  Asari have been space-faring for nearly 3,000 years so I'm sure their knowledge of DNA and such is vastly superior.

Considering many of them seem to look down upon those of them who are "Purebloods" I would not be suprised if not a whole lot of research has gone into the subject.

Beside I dont really think we can compare Space Travel to DN A ressearch in Mass Effect since just about every species gain Space Travel by finding Reaper technology and learning to use the Mass Relays instead of actually developing such things on their own.

Another tidbit on Indoctriantion I dont think has been posted.

When Ashley rejoins your crew after the Cerberus assault, in the docking bay she asks if Udina was possibly Indoctrinated. Shepard replies that he/she thinks it is possible to which Ashley says.

"How do you fight something that worms its way into your head?"

Minor as it is not directed at Shepard, but it is another tidbit on Indoctrination and how seemingly impossible it is to fight. As said a hundred times if Shep is not on some starting to be Indoctrinated or at least affected it begs the question as to how Shep avoided it after 3 games in repeated close contact to Reaper tech.

also, in ME3 at some point Shep says something like "everyone on board of a Reaper gets indoctrinated". I was like.. uuuh.. you were on one in ME2??

Someone else I know just finished the game, raged about how rubbish it was. Then a few hours later calls me and says "actually I am going with indoctrination theory ....I am disappointed that I didn't put the pieces together myself" .....Do it Bioware!

I really don't care about other DLCs until the ending DLC is released... cause I see no point in buying any if the ending still sucks...
The probably should put all effort in the ending DLC first....

Exactly who began formalizing it is a big mystery, I suspect. It likely started as an amalgamation of different people noticing unusual coincidences and then saying "Oh, but it would make sense if 'this' went 'there'...". The picture finally reached a point when someone with enough wit had an "Aha!" moment and began from there.

I can't help but think of it as the BSN's Crucible Project- we really didn't know what it would look like in the end, but after combining enough different people, all adding their own input, the end result was impressive. The difference, of course, was Project Crucible had a blueprint- this was more of a puzzle recognized out of a fluke.

I somhow get the feeling they want to distract from the EC with telling us how gourgous the other DLC stuff is they are working on... probably they should pay attention not to promise again stuff they do not hold...

Yes I'm the same, I will always play as a female whenever given the option, in Mass Effect Jennifer Hale's voice work is far superior to Mark Meer. Usually though I pick female as IMHO if you are going to be staring at an ass for 30+hours the least you can do is make sure t hat it isn't a sweaty man ass

You know the Crucible analogy for the IT is exactly the way I have thought of it as well right down to comparing them a few hundred pages back.

It is most certainly an interesting comparision.

I was disappointed in Bioware for providing such a crappy ending that ended nothing. To be honest this is a no win situation for them if the "closure" DLC is not IDT then they really just had a crappy ending. If the "closure" DLC is IDT then they sold us an incomplete game for full price. What's to stop a company from doing that then charging for the true end as dlc.... Wait sh*t that's already happened with Asura's Wrath.

Regardless of what Bioware does I do not believe they planned on IDT to much time has passed for them to claim this was all part of the plan but I think they should use IDT seriously Bioware this is on the fans try to make us proud.

I believe it began to spread after that shared google doc, which inspired the youtube video which in turn convinced a whole lot more people.

However even both video and googledoc say these are theories found on the internet and don't claim ownership.

I hope it is IT but I suspect it isn't. I still trust Bioware but I will reserve judement until after DLC, they have promised clarification on existing endings. This could mean IT is adopted or it could just be a dialogue box ala DA2 to explain what happened off screen.

I do want more DLC and will pay even for cosmetic changes, the key for me is that it has to be SINGLE PLAYER DLC, MP DLC thanks but no thanks.

Oh god, really? For me the german voice of ManShep in Me2 and 3 is f*cking terrible. It sounds like a 50 year old narrator on history channel. And femshep isn't better either, she sounds like an annoying teacher. 
I found the german version of ME3 the worst of all the series. At the scene where Anderson dies I was almost in tears, but not because it was sad, but because I was laughing so hard - they sound like just casually smarttalking. That's why I played the first walkthrough in English and will continue all following walkthroughs like that.

I only played 2 in german and 3 in english cause I like the english synchro more, cause most characters sound much better in englisch and I prefere Mark Meers voice.
The second game (german Version) for the Xbox never had the option to play it in english... sadly.

What if Bioware themselves initiated the theory?

In my opinion, Bioware has done everything they possibly could do to initiate the theory without actually coming out and saying to theorize about it. All of the remarks and comments that dont make sense (A, B, C endings, etc) given the game we actually have, seem to indicate that they want us to figure out that what we have is not all we're getting.
