But she got that really cool jungle planet where she may or may not be able to eat anything.... so.... v-victory?

no what she got in my game was to be hit by a reaper aser so hard that my beautiful love interest got magical teleportation powers and left to go get on the normandy.....lol

Well, if she can teleport, she can just teleport to Rannoch, aye?

Problem solved, thanks to SPACE MAGIC™! :wizard:

Release the DLC on disks. Pretty sure lots of DLC has done that.

true but that would make it either have to be bundled with a paid dlc or that it in itself would be a paid dlc which at this point i would willingly pay for.

it may be blocked on the discs. some have claimed that gigs are missing in the actual instal.
and be activated on a set date biuoware has chosen, like when the game is finally released world wide.

After getting this Friday and playing 40hrs and finishing Sunday evening, I was completely bemused by the ending I got. I couldn't understand it.

At first it somewhat ruined my favourite game franchise and I really didn't know what to make of the ending... after such an AMAZING game, how could they screw up the ending so bad?

When I came here and saw some theory about Shep being indoctrinated I have to admit, I thought you were all just clutching straws, but after reading a lot of it, it really does make sense, and its not like you have to force it in there to work either.

I was happy with the ending until the kid turned up, then it was just all over the place and I started to question things. Then I noticed Andersons choice was red and TIM's was blue, which seemed intentional at the time.

Confused, I still chose to destroy them, even though it made me think for a good 2-3 mins. I destroyed them because I remembered thats what this whole series and hundreds of hours of gameplay was about.

Anyway, then I went through the whole wtf sequence watching the ending like everyone else and came here.

If the indoctrination theory is true, and it seems it to me, then I've gone from being totally disappointed to loving the ending.

I just have one question; If its a not real from the point Shepard gets hit by Harbinger and he stays laying until the rubble until he wakes up (In my ending), then who activated the arms on the Citedel?

Anyways, I understand why some people think its too far fetched to believe this theory, but without it the endings aren't just bad, they make no sense at all. Plus there's too many Bioware tweets indicating they're holding something back at the moment.

As is stands, I'm happy to accept the indoctrination theory, and with that I'm happy to accept my cannon ending. So thanks to those of you that (In my opinion) figured this out! :)

TL;DR

This makes sense! Thanks! But who opened the Citedel arms if Shep was still on the ground in London? I'm sure its in these pages somewhere, but I only read the first 2 for the evidence :)

Nah, its Liara's job to recover Shepard's body when s/he dies, just like she did in ME2.

Hopefully this time she wont give you to Cerberus though.

I think the destruction of the Mass Relays bothers me more than anything else about the endings as they stand.

This.
And this fact is also why I'm conviced that it is all indeed just a mind battle for Shepard and not real. Whatever BioWare does, they would never present such a grim ending, never. It's simply too sad and dark.

If people don't have the internet, that means they can't patch either, what if they release it through a patch? And how do people survive not having the net? I know that sounds nerdy but I just see it as necessity lol.

  i second this statement.

Well it certainly wasn't the ending I was hoping for - although I did get some Kaidan/booty short action.  I guess I can just end ME3 there then.

Although I'm not a Tali fan (don't lynch me!), the Rannoch part (beside the Reaper addition where Shepard was just basically running around like an idiot - but perhaps it's because I tried that part on insanity and I kept dying every five seconds from a laser that was freaking miles away from me!) was beautifully done.  Off topic - but I felt the necessity to say it.

on the note of Tali's homeworld...IF this is the final ending....then it REALLY sucks that i fought to save her homeworld just to have her entire race come defend earth and the relays be destroyed.....yeah its a beautiful ghostplanet...yay.

If I can get a little off topic about the hallucination theory; I would have been able to accept the endings as is, IF for an ending we skip ahead many years and, even though all those other species are trapped on Earth, we see them working together to rebuild the planet, making Earth their new home. With maybe some shots of your crew and LI to show how they're getting along, as well as a big-ass statue of Shepard in the middle of a giant plaza or something.

I'm fine with a sacrifice ending, just as long as there's some closure. We didn't get that.

I would have actually loved to have seen humans, asari, krogan, salarians, turians, etc all living together on their new planet, making it home, setting up a new government, new cities, living their universe on a single planet, and maybe slowly working on re-building the relays.

Could have been beautiful, I think.

I don't think so. All the ships were there, but there was no necessity for all 17mln civilians to be on them. If anything, you saved the quarians because without the relays they wouldn't be able to survive as nomads. With or without geth help, those that were left on Rannoch stand somewhat of a chance.

And if this is the final ending then I'm going to believe that the team of super-smart scientists that built the Crucible will figure out a way to rebuild the relays or otherwise reconnect the galaxy. Posted Image

But then Shepard will come rescue her from boredom again!

Its like that Prothean VI said: time is cyclical. Certain patterns repeat themselves.

I just totally blew my own mind.

I must be tired.

We make do with Dial-Up and when we need DLC or patches we go over to a friends.

It's about as much fun as it sounds.

The destruction of Mass Relays is by far the biggest plot hole in the ending. Well not a hole exactly, but you can't spin it so that it would make sense for them to continue this franchise expect with prequels, and if they do that I am sure as hell not gonna touch those knowing that it all ends in one ****ty dream. Can we have back expansion packs?

Oh and can you tell mee more stories about the Shepard? Yes I can if you tell me how it was all dream and he woke up to kick some reaper ass.

the only problem with that solution is that alot of dlc these days (especialy on consoles) requires constant internet connection or it "corrupts" your saves until your back online aka mass effect 2. lol

Just finished reading through lookingglassmind's theory about Bioware offering the ultimate metagaming experience.

And I have to say: if this is what Bioware intended, it truly is an awe-inspiring, ballsy conclusion, elevating not only the genre, but our player experience.

Man, that's so gutsy.

EDIT: Kudos to lookingglassmind and everyone who offered insight to this theory. Very intelligent and fleshed out arguments.

There is also lots of other indicators that something is amiss.

Really low quality textures, low polygon models in the distance, areas where textures / objects are not covering the abyss and thus textures are warping there, points of objects aren't intersecting properly and floating / clipping in odd places.

All of this could be the subject of an indoctrinated mind, or a dream state, or indeed - something far more sinister.

A rushed ending....

To be honest though - it really does feel empty and rushed. There is so much that is lacking polish. Have a wander around the top of the citadel after listening to Casper the friendly StarChild drone on and have a look. It's pretty sloppy.

Also - wonder if their analytical data collected will tell them how many rounds people have unloaded into Casper.

Well, if it is real, the stargazer is real which means no FTL travel for a long time...
