"Commander.. the shooty thing. is making a blinky red light"

"Yes Vega, your rifle is telling you it needs a new thermal clip"

"Lol wut?"

Yeah I am certain engine noise would be something noticed by a career Marine who has probably been on a dozen ships...I mean it is not like Tali said the Normandy was an incredibly quiet ship, right?

Find that really hard to beleive, but I blame it on poor writing.
The side affects of Kaiden's biotic implants made him more sensitive certain frequencies.
That is a possible answer, yet there would be tons of people still having an L2 implant  that would have walked nearby the relay, as well as more tech oriented people like the Quarians, who probably have sound-caputring heavy equipment through their helmet. Heck even some powerful biotics (Asar) seems to percieve things better than anybody else around them.
True enough. Look, I don't like Kaiden either. I didn't exactly loose sleep when he got nuked on Vermire. I'm just saying I don't think it's bad writing. More than one crew member comments on that statue. I think it was Liara that wondered out loud why the Prothians would put a statue of a mass relay on the Citadel. Thats all I'm getting at.:)
EDIT: CRAP. I always screw up the 'snip'. Some day I'll learn how to use a computer like a big boy.

She said so on the SR-1,  not 2, also have you ever been into the crew quarters? If I was to sleep there, I would litterally go INSANE, the drive core humming is so loud you could use its vibration to break kidney stones...

Hey guys, just replaying the first mass effect and I noticed something - wandering around the presidium with Kaidan and Ashley in my party (looking for keepers, ugh) and I just walked past the statue of the mass relay.

Ash says she likes it, but Kaidan said 'Do you hear that hum? Sounds like it's coming from the statue...' and then reverts to generic 'Big Place' comments and won't say it again.

Not going to lie, I felt like a kid on Christmas... Though I'm sure it's probably been mentioned before! Anyone else found that? It supports the idea of subtle citadel indoctrination right from ME1.
It's humming because it's not a statue of a mass relay, it's the real thing, built by the protheans.
Ahhhhh okay, that makes sense. It's a very teeny relay, mind!
Yep. Well, as far as I'm aware, it's more of an "anchor" for the one on...what's the name of the planet with the prothean VI?

The really inconsistent thing about the mini-relay, is that an everage meat-head (Kaiden) comes along and suddenly hear a hum, yet the people who have studied the Citadel for years just thought it was a statue?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's still the idea that the citadel constantly emits a low level indoctrination pulse to keep the population calm and feel safe (hence why galactic civilisations always choose it for their centre, and the reason why they don't really care how the citadel works.

My only issue is that someone was suggesting the hum was evidence of such indoctrination. The hum is not, but the indoctrination explains why noone has ever investigated the relay monument.

Irrelivent, vega hears the hum on the normandy, kaden heard the hum by the conduit statue on the citidel.... and kadens is just the frequency that its active, vega is hearing a hum that we believe to be associated with the indoctrination process.

The starchild's logic makes perfect sense if you actually listen to what he explicitly states. The Reapers do not kill every organic lifeform but only ADVANCED ENOUGH civilizations. This means that the galaxy with 12 simple civs + 4 advanced civs (a total of 16 civs) is left with 12 simple civs (a total of 12 civs) after the purge to develop for the next Reaper invasion.

Can we safely say we've linked the planet your crew crashlands on as an amalgamation of Zorya/Aiea/Vermire too?
I'd go back to get the pics but i don't know what page they're on.

Well, all we're sure about is that it's extremely similar to Zorya, we don't have anything but speculation about the other planets.

Also, about the vent warning sticker. We'll be very hard pressed to find it anywhere else in the game. So far, this is the only vent I've seen throughout my play through. No vents on the citadel, the Normandy, sanctuary and even TIM's base.

There are plenty of other warning signs and stickers pertaining to risk of electric shock or other dangers but they're not around vents.

Did you check (the reflections I mean, not actually the level, because if it's not the trees I'm seeing on the control slope I have no idea what it's meant to be:S)? And also, it was you who brought them up, so you tell me :P

Also, the area you wake up in in the crucible bit. On your left and right on the ground is an electrical duct with another human designation. The only other place I've found that duct is on the normandy (engineering and the cockpit). Could be on other places, you're the whizz at finding this stuff :P

And again also :P that same bit you wake up on appears to be the same circular platform you were on while talking to TIM and Anderson (except smaller, obviously).

EDIT - awful spelling

It still makes no sense at all.
If the starChild's goal is to protect organic life from synthetics, then the most obvious solution is to tell Reapers to kill synthetics, not evolved organics.
Reapers could stay in the galaxy, act as protectors and kill dangerous synthetics. That's all.
Starchild logic makes zero sense.

But that reveals the Reapers existence to organics. Organics will not agree to the Reapers goals, so they'd be forced to fight either way. The Reapers way insures minimal casualties.

Quick question, which may have been answered. Having played Mass Effect 2 again a few months back, I was wondering, does anyone hear Harbinger besides Shepard/the audience? Did any character remark about how talkative he was? I read that in The Arrival content, Shepard speaks to a projection of Harbinger, with no obvious means of doing so. Did Harbinger have a plan B if Shepard's body was not in his forces' possession?

I'm just throwing the other two in because others believe it could be an amalgamation like the Citadel is at the end. I think it's most probably Zorya. The Blue Suns would have left behind colony resources and shelter even if you messed up their place in Zaeed's mission so arguably your crew could stay there.
