I think the whole indoctrination theory is overkill and it's easier to accept that the ending was a failure and we should try to look at the events in a more literal sense. Shepard was nearly killed, but, has the strength and will to finish the mission. The whole thing is trying to be extremely artistic.

BioWare just rushed it so badly that it gave room for all sorts of weird theories.
Remember the Halo 3 ending?
Arbiter: "Were it so easy..."

This is a lot like that, but a lot worse too because we know it's the end for Shepard, but Master Chief is making a comeback soon. That's why this was wholly inappropriate.

Oh, well with that one we determined in the thread which i posted it that it was a common model loading glitch.  At least, that was the consensus.

It's at the top of the walkway ramp on the left.  Appears very quickly then disappears.  Easier to see if you make it fullscreen.  It shows up in between  Anderson saying "Hold on"  and "i see something" at 0:04.

it definitely sounds similar, so i would not worry about this. but so far, i was not able to recreate it on my playthrough. i don't know about the others though...

Oh yeah Shepard was only "nearly" killed after beeing at ground zero for 8 km wide fireball and then performing Orbital reentry nearly unscathed while wearing a burned out armor with no helmet or kinetic barriers...

Oh good, another one saying we should just "accept" the ending without actually countering (and smart money says, reading) any of the actual evidence that lead us to the conclusion.

Saving info for the future? Perhaps Post ending DLC that depends on the plot poits that were saved?

Maybe this sound only appears after a priority mission? Or only the first time you're looking at that picture.. or maybe it's just right in front of a loud speaker announcment because we established that that reaper growl was a sign of annoyance for distracting shepard from the indoctrination...

That as far as the games save mechanic goes, there are only 2 endings.
Destroy -or- Not Destroy.
Game doesn't apear to track your choice if you don't pick destroy at the end.

Even if I wanted to, I can never accept the ending like they are at the moment.. they are to unlogic and full of plot wholes, that make my head ache... so if they really keep them (and it indicates very strong they do) IDT is the only way for me to accept them.

Though I can't really say for sure that it's the same or even the same note pitches, it does have this "wow" pattern.
And both sounds play just half a second before the distractions come:

On Earth, Anderson calling for Shepard. On the Citadel, the announcement through the speakers.

It's funny that both are literally like distractions from indoctrination or daydreaming. Like someone sayng to you "HEY, wake up!"

Just one question.  Did you come here solely to tell us that IT is wrong without presenting any evidence as to WHY it's wrong?  If so, I don't see why you came here because all that will happen now is that you will be ripped apart by forces beyond my control. (n00bsauce2010)

Hey everyone, glad to see this thread is still very much alive. I took a long break from this place because I was sick of speculating like crazy about it. But I'm much more calm about things now. I still believe the theory, you bet I do.

Just sometimes gets a little frustrating.. lol

not sure if this was mentioned or not, but did Liara not say that Shepard was remarkably strong-willed? could this imply that Shepard is strong-willed enough to resist indoctrination until the beam-thingy?

not advocating indoctrination theory, just asking some logical questions.

You and me both. There are definitely these ups and downs. But in my experience IT is something that first needs to sink in properly.

I know how you feel.  Darn you Casey and your "speculation"!  BTW, I won't be able to post with any real consistency for at least the next couple of days.  The internet at my house is dead, forcing me to rely on other sources like Chick-fil-A. (Where I am right now)  Just figure I should tell you all.
