Completely OT: Does anybody understand the purpose behind the Alliance News Network stories on Bioware's blog? Are they just for fun, or is there some other point to them?
Probably for fun. Unless they hint at DLC in the future?

I consider them a rather pointless part of the PR-machinery of today's gaming industry. And if not for the whole ending controversy I wouldn't even know something like that existed...
And that Emily Wong was killed in one of those news...and what to say about this? A rather sympathetic recurring character killed in such a unworthy way, it's sad somehow...
These "news" would only be cool if in the next days/weeks a newsflash would pop up indicating the battle for Earth is still ongoing...and that unconfirmed news from the surface have told about something big happening down there...or something along that line..paving the way for a massive Shepard comeback...Yeah, at least my fantasy still works, so much better than playing ME3 by now..

"worse than the indcotrination ending"? Most of us view the IT ending as an incredibly cool thing, preciscely because it doesn't do a Dallas and invalidate everything. In fact, the dream itself is important in IT. May I ask why you don't like the IT ending?

I'm not a fan, but I find it an interesting idea that they may have made the game nothing but a dream

I hope the tweets sync up with the release of the end DLC.

That was pretty funny though!
"Definitely, though, provided I’ve got enough medigel, and that the mission won’t be compromised by me trying to give first aid during a firefight, I’ll be sure to use that medigel on our new friends from Khar’shan. Just as soon as I’m done helping any injured salarians, turians, drell, asari, krogan, quarians, or geth.”

I suppose BioWare is utilizing social networks to increase player's immersion in the game. Making up SCI-Fi "news" and spreading them in RL is a bit OTT though.

They did the same thing with ME2 and the Cerberus Daily News. Why are you so bad? Stop being so bad.

LOL. I'm not bad. Just tried to explain that there is a distinction between Sci-Fi and RL, however some people may be unhappy about that. I don't mind ANN and Allers.
Btw, have you figured out starkid's logic yet?

As for me I'm done with anything Bioware/EA/ME-related, until they fix the ending, since my pityful brain isn't capable of understanding their artistic directions.

I think the whole indoctrination theory is overkill and it's easier to accept that the ending was a failure and we should try to look at the events in a more literal sense.

http://tvtropes.org/...ain/OccamsRazor
"Another very common mistake is to summon up the Razor in a debate over a point that is entirely moot in order to add weight to a particular argument. This usage is entirely fallacious as the Razor does nothing more than recommend the hypothesis that makes the fewest new assumptions. It is not a magical tool that points to the right answer. In a lab it will be used hundreds or thousands of times, with each and every one of the chosen hypothesis being rigorously tested, before a correct answer is found. In a debate the Razor will be used once and will, invariably, choose the user's answer as the 'right' one. Funny, that."
You're not coming out and saying Occam's Razor, but your language implies you are trying to use it on a work of fiction, which is illogical. A work of fiction CAN have complicated reasons to come to a conclusion because it might be designed that way.

Did anyone ever inspect the building with the vent closely? I mean the one starchild is in. Does the vent actually go anywhere?
The vent bends right side behind starchild.

Out of curiosity: will the indoctrination theorists be content if it proves to be correct, yet they're not actually able to control Shepard after the "wake-up" point? Meaning will you guys be alright having the theory confirmed purely through exposition-heavy cutscenes, instead of the opportunity to get up and walk after the indoc attempt?
I'd be alright with it, I think, though there'd be something very satisfying about getting up, "dusting yourself off" and pressing forward after fending off the mental attack.

The dark energy story sucks quad if you ask me. I'm beyond fed up with this "everything, everything, EVERYTHING EVERYTHING!!! has to be a gray moral area" fad. Apparently every western RPG nowadays is dead set on making it so whether to light a kitten on fire is a moral dilemma. It was a nice change of pace at first, but that change of pace has become the very driven-into-the-ground cliche it was meant to combat. Frankly, I want some black and white. The world isn't all black and white, but it's not all gray either. The Reapers are monsters, pure and simple. I don't want to see them portrayed as the good guys for murdering quintillions of people. I want to kill them, ****** on their graves, and feel good about it.
I can only agree on this, but on a every different level. I write stories, fan fictions mostly especially towards Legend of Spyro. As such I also read alot of fan fictions made by others and one of my major turn offs from any fan fiction universe is when people start making a "excuse" as to why Malafor (the main villian) was evil (or even worse try to paint him as grey moral).
Everything in the games paint him as the ultimate evil, no good, no reedeming qualities and that is how I write him in my own stories.
Sometimes a villian really dosent have any bigger motivations than rulling the world and is willing to do anything to get there. The Reapers probably have a some kind of justification in their eyes, but I am quite fine with keeping it "beyond our comprehension" and simply knowing they are evil. For all I know there motivations could simply be reproduction using organics of a certain technological levl solely for making more of themselves, aka Reaping us.
