Good thinking.
Would you mind dropping a word on the time capsules, though? It seems I kinda missed that somehow... (or it was in the comics which I haven't read completely yet)

Liara is building time capsules with a bunch of information in them.  Diagrams on the Crucible, information on all the known species, translators for known languages, ect.  She comes up to Shepard's cabin at one point and asks for input on one thing: Shepard's own entry.  She apparently wanted quite an entry on him/her.  She was going to send these things out to various worlds.  "Just in case" I guess.
It seemed like it was probably an early romance scene.  I was nice to all my crew but kept Shepard single because I was expecting a DAO type ending.  So if you were involved with someone else that's probably why you didn't get the scene.

Actually, that's not true. My only LI for the entire series was Ashley and I still got that scene.

Another thing when the game is over you get the message then you start right before the cerberus base mission..... anyone see any significent evidence as to why this is?

Well, at first glance it's a simple way to allow for DLC. Shepards main story is told, now you can add some little story the Stargazer can tell the boy about Shepard.
What makes it weird is that you don't really continue. The game is actually reset (including the gametime) to this point. No progress is taken over at all.
It has to mean something...

just checked my game, they indeed reset game time, weird

Thanks for clearing that up. :)
Now I regret not sticking with Liara even more, though (for her as a character, not just for not seeing this little scene). Guess I really have to start an NG+ after all.

Haha maybe in the scheme of things, in the ME universe Earth is like a playground and the Citidel is like Earth :P

Just a quick addition to this; I distinctly remember in ME2 Collector-Harbinger wanting to capture Shepard alive, or something along those lines whenever you're fighting him. There was also mentions of the Collectors (and therefore the Reapers) being interested in Shepard, and those connected to Shepard (example, the attack on Horizon where Kaiden/Ashley are stationed).

Could they have wanted Shepard to use as a blueprint for the Synthesis ending we're given? It could be simple as they wanted him/her for an addition to the human Reaper but, either way something to think on.

Harbinger would say "Preserve Shepard's body if possible". I always wondered what the Reapers interest was in humans, Shepard in paticular, and not the other races. Maybe it has something what Miranda said in ME2 "You're the best humanity has to offer". Shepard HAS to be indoctrinated or it was a dream. I find myself drawing no other conclusion for the ending.

Me too.  With both my Kaidan and Garrus romances.

Funny how it wasent enough that we were introduced with 3 endings that were all sh*t.

When youve completed the game, you respawned infront of the galaxy map with the message:

''Your now a legend, buy more DLC Trolololololololololol!!!''

I hope bioware redeems whemselves with a FREE Ending DLC. Since this indoctronation theory seems more logical than anything.

Oh God.  I just realized another interpretation of the ending.  One that's even worse.  I haven't read the hundreds of pages of understandable rage, so forgive me if this has been mentioned before.

The Reapers won.  That wasn't just a hallucination, it was a hallucination as Shepard died.  He got hit by Harbinger's beam.  That thing can bring down a dreadnought, nobody is going to survive it on foot.  The reasons to think it's a hallucination are numerous but in hindsight it also seems highly unlikely he survived at all.  You can hear people saying things in the distance along the lines of "My God, they're all dead."  Which you would expect because, again, Harbinger's beam weapon!

What really makes me think this though is the grandfather scene at the end.  We only see them as silhouettes at a far distance.  We thought it didn't make much sense because they talk as if there's no aliens on the planet, they have no space travel, ect.  ...  That's because they don't.  They're not human, or any other species we know of.  They're a species in a future cycle that hasn't yet developed space travel.  They know of this legend of Shepard because they found one of Liara's time capsules that she filled with adoration for her friend.  And that's why we can't see them clearly, to hide that these are a future species and not our own.

I find myself thinking something I never thought I'd think.  Dear God, retcon please!

That's what we've been saying all along. Now combine that with a high EMS and choosing the destroy and you'll see yourself breathing again in London in the middle of the rubble. To me that clearly either represents Shepard fighting indoctrination or Shepard fighting for his life.

How high must be your EMS to see Shepard in London after that dream/hallucination?

His assertion is wrong. You should've had that scene with Liara with or without a romance with her.

The game creates a save file called LegendSave.pcsav when you start the Cerberus base mission. After you finish the game it simply restores that save file. The point is that that's the last point in the game where you can still travel around the galaxy and thus the only place where doing pre-ending DLC is still possible.

I can just imagine the BioWare guys laughing their butts off, winding up to hit us with the biggest story-hammer of all time.

If all this is true, it will make M. Night Shyamalan look like a bore in comparison.

Guy guys!

Do you think maybe, WE are the Reapers! We're here to come and destroy Bioware's product right at it's height of development. We act irrational and in ways they cannot comprehend. Mass Effect is what it's like to work in video games.

4000 "saving" anderson or 5000 if you don't save him. And you have to pick "destroy the reapers".

Right. Played through with a romance triangle between Kaidan and Garrus, and I still got that scene. From what I can rememebr, Shepard says something along the lines of, "You been a good friend to me, Liara", to which she replies, "Well I did just write your name in the stars".

You have to do all the persuade options when talking to TIM.

Anderson still dies either way.

Also, this is not relevant to the post I am quoting, but

As far as I know it's "save". He'll still die after saying he's proud of you. I'm just quoting the guide here, so I don't really know if there's another way of saving him or a real way for that matter.

Cheers.
