You don't bring anything relevant to the disscusion.
Thread is for discussing the theory. You don't belong here with your intentions until you come up with a counterarguement backed with ingame or outgame evidence like everyone else in here does. And you made your intentions clear enough. Pages ago and just now.

Sorry to bump in this discussion. But I think you're giving him just what he wants (the attention he doesn't have in real life)

dont assume things. i have lots of attention in real life. even though i cant proof it, i know how you guys are with your evidence, but i have actually given lectures about my life at an univserity. and there were actual students their listening for over 2 hours. how is that for attention?

edit: ha! wait! i still have the promotion posters, if you want i can post them. if i figure out how to post pictures in here, that is.

So how does their feelings about feedback say THIS IS WRONG? They didn't expect it. It doesn't discount any other intentions they might have had with the endings.

Though it DID just occur to me, that when I do a re-write, well.. they DID imply that the people inside the Citadel are still alive and fighting... time for Armando Bailey to step up.

Do they know anyhing about the activation panel ? An infiltration mission in the Citadel could have been cool IMO

Well, the ACTUAL activation panel, you know the one that actually exists that we have seen in a previous game happens to be in the council chambers. So yeah, getting to it would be hell.

I already thought about an alternative final mission (though it's out of topic and no longer an option anymore) where the player could either lead the assault on earth to the beam while some of his squadmates infiltrated the Citadel, trying to reactivate the beam (which should have been temporarly shut down by the Reapers).
Or he choose the infiltration. Depending on his choices, he either succeed or not.  (I know looks like the suicide mission of ME2)
And when both sides meet at some point of the Citadel, one squad with reinforcement hold the Reapers forces while the other tries to reach the panel to open the arms of Citadel. Just after reaching the Council Room Shep could be separated from his squadmates (trap, remaining Reaper Forces). Alone in the room and eventually
wounded, begins the last mental fight against Indoctrination (Harbinger/Starbrat)...

That was my idea, it's not, by far, so well written like your cut-scenes and the last indoctrination attempt is definitely more obvious...

Here is what I would (and eventually will when I have the time to) do with my re-write.

Pre Shepard cutscenes, right after the breath scene, or perhaps somewhere else, I'll think on this;

Bailey is desperately defending the council, several civlilians, some of the people you saved, he reaches a shelter designed to protect the council. A quantum entanglement communicator in the room is set up, originally placed with the intention that the Council can maintain order even from the most dire of suitations Bailey orders someone, perhaps a random Alliance Marine, or the Virmire Survivor if they're an asset to try and contact the fleet and find out what the hell is going on.

Hackett is overjoyed to hear from them, Bailey asks what he can do to thelp, Hackett sugguests C-Sec do all it can to get to the control panel, citing that the attack by Hammer is giving them enough of a distraction that a small team might just make it in the event Hammer can't. Bailey gives a pretty speech to his men, some of the civvies volunteer, they make their way to the council chambers in a few cutscenes, interspersed with cutscenes of Sword fighting the Reaper fleet, finally Bailey and any survivors (the higher your Citadel defense rating, the more people survive. if it's too low, Bailey dies. If the rating is the lowest possible, game over, Reapers win. any higher than that, Bailey dies  but manges to reach the panel, the scene parroting what happened with Shepard in the dream earlier ("Bailey, Commander!") and the arms are opened, Bailey collapses and dies at the panel and the Crucible docks, the Reapers flee, pulling out past Charon, Harbinger fires a shot in the withdrawal and doesn't realize the Crucible was damaged before they have given up their tactical superiorty (if they come through the Charon relay with the fleet sitting on top of it, they know that they'll get wiped out one at a time) and leads them off to dark space to lick their wounds. If your Citadel defense rating was high enough, Bailey is wounded, and carried off by Conrad Verner/Kelly Chambers/Kalisah Al-Jilani/ a random civlilian, and appears at the end in one capacity or another.

well, if it was intended as a cliffhanger, they would have said, "ha ha ha... wait for it". they didnt expect it, which means they thought its fine as is. no addition dlc required.

but i find it rude to tell someone that his story isnt really finished. thats my point. its their story to tell and they didnt show a "to be continued, conclued, the end?". so i think the right thing to do is to accept it as the real ending and not make up stories about it being a dream.

I would say everyone should just shut up about this topic now.

Some people believe waldstr is a troll. Waldstr disagrees. Waldstr isnt going to convince them he isnt, and they arent going to convince him that he is. Its just going to be a long circular argument.

So I say everyone shut up about it.

Huh? You act like this is a new thing. It started in 2008 with that Prince of Persia remake, then FF13-2 did it with their "paradox endings", then Asura's Wrath did it. Are you new to gaming?

see, there is a "i think" in it. as in: in my opinion, not fact, the way i see it.

First off, long time lurker (since the first 100 pages).

Like several that have come before me, I heard that the endings might not be up to speed with the rest of the game. I didn't want to spoil it so I ignored it until I beat it for myself. Not wanting to play multiplayer, I stuck to single player and ended up with the worst possible destroy ending where pretty much everyone was decimated. Knowing this wasn't good, and knowing that I would play through it again properly, I began scouring the Internet to figure what was going on. I found this thread.

After reading the first post from Byne, I was sold on the Indoctrination theory and I thought it worked with what was given to us. I then proceeded to buy ME1 as I started off at ME2. I wanted to get the full experience and see, for myself, all of the clues that everyone had been diligently pointing out. Just having finished a playthrough of all three games, I was convinced that Indoctrination is the way to go.

The only thing that bothers me, other than the endings of course, is if Bioware intended to release a real ending at a later time. I don't think any game should be subject to that. The game you buy should contain all the core elements to complete the story. I don't mind having DLC to complement the story but the main storyline should be included with your original purchase.

Regardless of what the outcome is, I enjoyed all three games, minus the last 10 minutes although I don't think that hinders it enough to make me not like them. With all that said, I just want to say that I'll be getting involved in the discussion so I look forward to posting with you guys.

Fun Fact. If you spare the collector base and do as bad as you did normally you'll only be allowed access to the Control Ending.
