Well they could have retconned it smoothly, imo.

Thermal clip guns apparently do hit harder. That'd be enough justification for me to switch to them.

Remember that Shep and co always are going on missions with specific targets in mind. They're always expecting to run in, smash the bad guys, and get out. Not sitting for days hoping their supplies don't run out.

In the Geth mission, Legion tells Shepard that he gave him a gun because "it's a familiar tool" for Shepard, He is seen picking up this guntwice in the ending and it has more symbolic meaning than any other gun because it's the same gun that Mording gave Shep in ME2. Also the same gun that Anderson has before the conduit run.

Him dropping the gun feels like him dropping his defenses, or a part of himself, the last part of himself.

The weirdest part about that is how when TIM takes the gun from Anderson, he takes a Predator, not a Carnifex. Unless Anderson changed guns on the way down (and to a less powerful model, no less), it really doesnt make sense, unless you consider that Shep is just piecing this together from his memories, so it'd make sense for TIM to use a Predator to kill himself.

Saren used a Predator to shoot himself, and even Fai Dan, the leader of the Feros colony, used one to break the Thorian's control.

The other times where we see people who are not being controlled by an outside force kill themselves, they dont use Predators.

Jacob's dad uses a Carnifex, Samara uses a Phalanx, Admiral Raan uses a Shuriken, and Tali jumps off a freakin cliff.

A Predator could be liked to breaking free of control to Shepard.

Also, I could just be thinking way too much about it.

Never mind the fact that when we first see him at the console Anderson clearly does not have a gun on him.

I like how Conrad apologizes for accusing you of putting a gun in his face if you never actually did that in ME1. He claims he was under a lot of stress last time you saw him, and got confused.

Because explaining away a glitch should always have priority over explaining major plot elements like space magic.

Thats just good storytelling.

I should point out that when he gives Shepard the gun at the beginning he is carrying the gun he gives to Shepard, but it doesn't look like he has another one.

Yeah, it TOTALLY makes more sense.  You know, since SO many people were upset about Conrad accusing them of putting a gun in his face even if you didn't do it whereas SO many people just LOVE  the endings as they stand. <_<

Pistols and SMGs can occupy the same space at the same time, apparently.
So yeah.:wizard: It's like that.

Also, does Verner still apologize if you edited the save file in 2 to correct the flag?

Yeah, I was kind of surprised when I saw that they hadn't fixed that, especially when you consider that they put the SMG slot on the right side.

It's almost as if they realize that most of the smgs were crap and that most players wouldn't bother.

Everyone knows SMG stands for Space Magic Gun.

If they moved the side the Space Magic Gun was holstered on, they would be violating their artistic integrity

They will be releasing the Extended Shot DLC in the summer though, to explain how Space Magic Guns can occupy the same space as a pistol without actually touching it, but no new holster locations will be added, just cinematics explaining the current ones.

Stay tuned!

Not just IT related, I don't even really believe in the IDT (Not for lack of in-game ''evidence'', but because I don't think EA/BW would do something like this or atleast not planned), they really don't answer any real questions concerning plotholes or whatever. Atleast not to my knowledge.

This is actually pretty interesting. Considering so many people kill themselves, and the only ones under control used predators.

I'd also add that when the game is doing that buggy thing in cutscenes when it gives shepard guns he doesn't have, it's always (I'm pretty sure) the avenger, predator, or shuriken. So when he has a carnifex on Tuchanka, that has meaning. How it translates to the end... I'm not sure.

Right, I haven't really paid too much attention to the vent boy scene's audio, but I just watched it with earphones and WOW. I know people argue that the growl background/ambient noise, but you clearly see the Reaper outside at one point and hear the growl from it, and the growl is muted and very quiet. The noise you hear when you're interrupted is MUCH louder.

Everything about that scene is weird.

Not to mention the fact that the growl/Anderson interrupts the music (the end music, is it?), rather than it fading out.

Speaking of Aethyta, I wonder what happened to her after the Cerberus coup. Did she get killed? You never see her again.

They should let you recruit people to come on your ship, sort of like how you can get Gabby and Ken back, and how you can choose between Chakwas and Michel.

The Normandy could use someone to tend its bar.

Also, they should have let us brought Kelly back on board. That way Traynor could have another hot redhead to lust over, since FemShep is taken.
