It's just a weird thing to say that Synthesis is the best option when you just helped to create a game that has a very long mission dealing with the fight between organics and synthetics, and the "best" option shows that there can indeed be peace.

Gah! Anyway, he laughs at me but he also remembers how I was when I finished the 'Fool' series by Robin Hobb and it didn't end the way I hoped. It's better this way!

Exactly. We've never once called Epyon a troll, or implied he just doesnt 'get' IT. We know he disagrees with it, but he at least bothers bringing up his reasoning.

Well there is often a difference between the way you hope something ends, the way you think it will end and how it actually ends.

Yes there can be a difference between hope and think, at least in my world. I have book series I am working my way through and I think I know at least part of how it will end, but god I hope it is not true :crying:

Even if Synthesis was the best option, calling it the "Final evolution of life" is far too suspect to me.

actually all the points ive made lately i made in the past at least 2 or 3 times.

oh, and another thing i posted 3 weeks back: i didnt know about the trolls, but now that i do, i really like them. they seem to have a lot of fun. i like having fun. so im gonna start my troll carreer by trolling you once the idt is disproven for real.

also: i appologize to the ones who never been rude to me, but still believe in the idt. when im going to troll you, its all meant in good fun anyways, so dont be offended. of course the fanatics will be pissed no matter what, but i dont mind that at all. hihihi, hahaha.

I'm all for having fun.

I think a lot of the old guard here are just frustrated by the same arguements being brought up.  But mostly by people who say stuff that sounds like "IDT is dumb, and you're dumb, because you're stupid."

Come in, say hello, and say something like "I don't believe DT because X, Y,Z."  That's fine.

But the ones who come in and say "how can an intelligent person believe IDT?  You must all be retards or dropped as children."  Yeah, those are the ones that get just about everyone upset.

Big difference between the two.

There absolutely is, and most of the time it's part of the pleasure of reading. When I was reading the Malazan Books of the Fallen I very frequently had my jaw dropped by something I hadn't expected, and I adore that series. My point really was that a massively disappointed Alice is not a pleasant person to be around until I'm over it ;)

Actually GBGriffin has the title of troll king, you're not even a very good troll.

thats because im not trying to be. im still waiting for bioware to tell us whats the truth. then im gonna troll you.

Whats up with you people?

I dont hang out in anti-IT threads and inform them over and over again how I'm gonna totally troll them and rub it in if IT happens to be true, yet we have seen tons of anti-IT people come in here claiming they're totally gonna troll us and rub it in if it happens to be false.

The anti-ITers seem to take all of this way too personally.

really? im not allone in this? awesome. i like competition. the other trolls have nothing on me, im gonna be mr. t in the end!

also, i just want to troll you, cause you called me a troll first, without me trolling at all. so now i am forced to show you how good a troll i can be.

I think tutoring all those depressed kids is meesing with you....might need to pick up a happier job.... like a divorse consultant or something.

you are funny.

i tutor for free. i dont work for money. im not a prostitute. (no offense to those who are working for money, or prostitutes, just doenst work for me). im studying applied computer science. but also only because it was the first thing on the list. a as in applied computer science. people were always pissed when they ask me what i do and i said: nothing, i dont have to. thats why i decided to study. it isnt that hard anymore with people getting dumber everyday. they even let me stay allthough i failed my second math exam twice and missed a deadline for it once. actually i should have been kicked of the university by now but im still there. i dont know... my life is based on luck. or how i can explain it to most people: if you have a god, hes probably on my side.

*shrug*

Fixed.
As I mentioned somewhere else, how many here would "gag" the childen arguing in the rear of the car?

Unfair metaphor. More exact one:

How many people would "forcibly remove" the guns from the children arguing in the rear of the car?

Oh, I just realized it was you, Dante.

Please dont start another multi-page discussion of how the Reapers are actually totally logical and we just cant understand.

Nope, there is another laydee in the room. And for the record, Ashley is definitely hotter than Miranda. Miri kind of makes me think of those girls at school who laboured under the impression they were prettier than the rest. Though my FemShep is hawt so that probably swayed me.

Yeah, after IT this was the bit that really jumped out at me as being how a Reaper describes itself (pretty sure they use this exact phrasing at one point? Or something?)

Course, we could argue that in a technologically evolved society like the ME universe traditional evolution is less important/influential than artificial evolution, but that's a whole 'nother issue :P

Well...

Sovereign said...

Organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident. Your lives are measured in years and decades. You wither and die. We are eternal, the pinnacle of evolution and existence. Before us, you are nothing. Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything.

I forgot how badass Sovereign was.

Also how he totally doesnt seem to agree with Godchild's claims of protecting organic life. He sees it as basically as an infection that must be purged.

I'LL DO IT! I'll-

Nah :P  You couldn't take it and I couldn't take it. Was trying to keep the conversation away from that end of the spectrum as much as I could, since yeeeep retreading old ground ain't my idea of fun :P (which is why I said in my first post a lot of the dislike of synthesis stems from disbelieving the starchild)

But yes, I think it may be just about to hit that intersection, so I'll be shutting up now :P

The anti-ITers seem to take all of this way too personally.

Still if someone don't agree with your theory 100% but like 75% you go all "you didn't play the game / you didn't thought about it" Doesn't make it any better for a civilized converation/debate. This thread degenerated from something very interesting/good here in the forums to we troll each other", complain about the non IT belivers, or congratulate ourselves.

Not that simple. It's the ones who come in and say "IDT is wrong because X, bet you never thought of that!" I followed the thread long enough as I said, my first post was on page 6xx or something.
Someone who would just come in and claim something isn't right either, but I was also talking about an instant where I posted something, that was in line with IT, but not exactly with his interpretation and wasn't discussed repeatedly (again I followed this thread for some time and posted some times) and the first thing I've got from him was that I didn't thought about it, then after explaining it better, with him answering once or twice, without giving any reason other then "what I think is right" it was just ignored. So yeah, that's what to be expected here, no real conversation/debate anymore when something isn't in line.

In the face-value ending and as far as I can recall, Shep broke the first and only Indoctrination Attempt (TIM). And the Star Brat himself told him "Yes you can (control us)". Or was he lying here too? This kid needs definitely needs to learn some manners :D
