Are all available slots in your department taken, as in not everyone gets in? If yes, you probably have the spot of a student who really wants to study it.

Came to my mind, no hard feelings.

Which prostitute was it that gave you so much security you never have to work for money. Mommy or Daddy.

Pick me!  Pick me!  Wait, I'm not perfect.  Never mind.  You know, the guy who really deserves that was that one guy.  What was his name?  Kayzee?  'Cause he was the calmest guy here.

Unfair metaphor. More exact one:

How many people would "forcibly remove" the guns from the children arguing in the rear of the car?

Very fair point, as the reapers view us as children, but it's not the reapers making the choice, it's a human, what gives Shepard who has been killing things left, right and center with a myriad of weapons through 3 games the right to say who carries weapons?

Well it's a Reaper-given choice but whatever that's not really the argument.

Noone gives Shepard any right, but unfortunately the decision still has to be made.

I suppose, to me, it comes down to whether I'd prefer to be remembered by a rag tag bunch of survivors as a hero who risked everything to protect their liberties, or by an entire civilisation as a monster who tried to remove them. I'm sure a lot of people would pick the former, but I think I'd pick the latter. I don't want to risk billions of deaths just so I can feel warm and cosy when I go to sleep.

Obviously of course this is judged by the very vague definition of synthesis given, and if it's shown to harm or in any way hinder/exclude ANY of the people in the galaxy then the choice would be much more difficult.

Howeverzzz this is all hypothetical and I'm jumping off this train of thought now to stop byne from shouting at me :P

If you mean human revolutions, I was SO disappointed with that game, though the fiancé was a lot more invested in it and a lot more annoyed than me. 'Hey, your moral stance? Doesn't mean jack ****. Sorry dude, same endings for all!'

Nope, I mean the original first Deus Ex. Because that had 3 endings:

1. Merge with an AI  - > Synthesis
2. Destroy technics   -> yeah well, Destroy
3. Rule the world with a secret organisation  --> Control, kind of

Ah okay I though you meant Human Revolution, never mind my post then.

You know, that makes me want to rant about how the endings of the DX franchise and how they compare to ME3. But I'll just ry to sum it up.

Yes, in DX and HR, the endings are downers. No matter what you did, something is gonna happen that turns the world into a crapsack hellhole. And yet they were satisfying endings, because they fit thematically with just about everything else in the games that preceded them. This is the main difference between the endings DX/HR and ME3: the endings sucked, but we were prepared for it, we could expect it, and we could even get caught up in the small glimmers of hope the endings provided even when our rational minds understood that that hope was in vain. At the end of the day, the journey still wasn't a waste of time.

As for Invisible War... frell that game. Yes the endings there were consistent with the game as a whole but that's because the game as a whole was a maddeningly stupid mess that railroaded the player into stupid situations and choices.*

*Seem familiar?

If I did do that, I probably just assumed you were a pro-ending troll, because thats generally where I see the "Shep deserves better fans" sig, but thats really no excuse for me to just write you off.

If you arent talking about me, and I'm apologizing for nothing, I'm still sorry, since I've probly done something similar to someone else at some point.

<3

Yup.

And: the shep deserves better fans sig for me is that I think the endings are great, just because they leave the possibility that I don't know what is real. That, FOR ME, is something very intriguing. I don't mind something having some flaws for the sake of confusing the player. I have my thoughts about that is most likely real and what is not, and other views differ, and that is in my opinion a good thing. The only thing that is bad about that are fans who aren't willing to participate in something like that and just demand that everything is delivered on a silver platter. I would really love it if they would only fix some minor stuff that can really only be guessed and that doesn't serve any purpose, like the crew appearing on the Normandy, but other than that it should be left open what is real.
I just guess it wouldn't matter much, as they have to decide it for the next ME game eventually as even if it's set thousands of years in the future it could be seen if synthesis was real.

good thinking. but no. my field of study seems to be the most difficult one, at least thats what everyone says. we started out with 20 people, now we are 6 or 7. not sure.

also they wish there were more of us, since we have to share lectures with other computer science based groups like the economics and the media guys. and they are horribly slow compared to us. thats also why i stopped going to lectures. they take an eternity to explain something, cause they have to explain it 3 times and then the stupid questions start coming.

yet, i have to admit, math and physics i was the one with the stupid questions, since we had to have our own lecture cause our stuff was more difficult. yet i skipped 4 classes of math and physics (dont ask, space magic), so i have actually no idea whats going on there. math 1 i passed at first try, cause it was all new stuff, but math 2 ... all vectors and x^3/2 / X^4 * ... which everyone else seemed to have had in school, except me.  and im way too lazy to practice that stuff. never had to study or practice before, why should i start now?

God, it's people like you who make me worry about the future of the United States.

Yes, I mentioned this a thousand or so pages back.  Just change the context from governing method to synthetic vs organic life and the endings are a perfect match. On this topic, I chose synthesis in deus ex as well haha

My main problem with the ending is not that it leaves Indoctrination open as possibility either, it is the lack of an epilogue that gets to me.

What happened to the Krogan, did they find peace in the galaxy or a new war? What happened to little Mordin?
Or the Rachni?
Or my crew? Did they live a happy life?

Basicly how did my choices matter in those last 20 minutes.

Because everything in the ending is explained throughout the game and makes sense.
Vendetta hints at the existence of starkid on Thessia.
TIM uses nanides to control Shepard and Anderson.
Starkid's logic makes sense.

But I also appreciate the Indoctrination Theory.

actually my parents are pretty much broke. they own a house, but my dad had an accident a few years back and has been out of work since.

so all the money i had to make during my one and a half month civil cervices i gave to them, they need it more than i do.

oh, and i get most of my money from rich friends. dont ask me. people just love me and my way of living. my favourite story here is the one who offered me 5 euros for every cigarrette he smoked. well.. i had a nice year, but now hes broke as well.

also, i dont need much, yet, i have a lot. people just give me things. i dont know. my college tuition for example. also payed by rich friends. xbox, tv, wii, new pc... my little notebook im typing on right now.

people just seem to like that im someone they can trust. at least thats what my rich friends once said.

wow, i could tell you stories. but i doubt anyone will believe what i wrote so far. so lets just leave it at that. but remember, i told you before, i gave lectures about my life on the unversity i study at and people actually came and listen for more than 2 hours.
