Vahilor, no need for the hostility. I was referring to the fanbase in general which is what happens anyway since we get grouped in with all the idiots by everyone else. Chill out.

Secondly, I disagree with you, the Fallout 3 extension was incredibly convulted and only occured because people didn't like what they got. You went into a place with TONS of radiation. There's no way you should have survived, and really since Fallout isn't a continuing story arc of ONE character, why is it so important that the Lone Wanderer survive? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Broken Steel, but I didn't find it necessary. I appreciate the perks, weapons and enemies that were added but the continuing story was ridiculous.

Sorry, no offence meant, but you sounded like you were fed up with all of us.

Curious because that could be some compelling evidence right there.

what would be so compelling about that? maybe he just likes shepard choosing the paragon option.

not that im saying he is smiling, which he isnt. but its no evidence either way.

I still don't see how embracing your worst enemy's philosophy and morals is paragon!

That's full-on renegade by definition!

Because apparantly the control option ends the war, saves everyone while sacrificing yourself, while the renegade option kills the reapers while sacrificing a bunch of your ally synthetics. Taking the endings at face value ofcourse..

Yeah.  But we talked about this yesterday, and the it seems that next-most-logical step in Control would be Shepard becoming the new Starkid, since he would somehow have to become "immortal" and use the Catalyst to continue controlling the Reapers (rather than just die right after his choice).  If that was the case, then if could be argued that Shepard doesn't really fix anything, just delays it, since HE would be the one controlling the Reapers to destroy organics in the next cycle (again, that assuming that Starkid's logic is correct/truthful, which you probably have to assume it is truthful if you picked Control).

I'm glad I waited so long to play it. I REALLY needed a "pick me up" after ME3's non-ending. It's a beautiful game, CD project just needs to do their own space opera and my life would be complete.

You're joking. I couldn't play this game for more than 20 minutes. And then it landed deep in a trash can.

I agree. Even with the face-value ending, destroy is the only option where Shep's body could "survive". Yet  the "you'd want the destroy option" is quite intriguing...

Yeah, I may have overreacted there, but I really could use some good news today, since I just found out that my brother was hit by a car today and that he's in the hospital right now.

I'm reposting what I said to Waldstr18:

The illusive man wants to control the reapers. Your arch-nemesis in the 3rd game.
Those are his morals, that you refute during the whole game.

By
choosing control, you embrace his philosophy and his morals, plus you
betray your own motivations since the first game, which is to destroy
the reapers.

using your enemies' own tactics= end justifies the means= renegade

refuting your enemies' tactics= end does NOT justify the means= paragon

See where I'm going?

If you look at it that way, yes. But if you see which ending causes the minimum collateral damage? Minimizing unnecessary deaths/nonfunctionality is a paragon thing to do, whereas a renegade would be ok with those casualties (end justifies the means).

Yes there is a way for the reapers to win, synthesis, choose it and your indoctrination process is complete, no Shepard, no one to stop the reapers.

My opinion of course.

Not sure I understand  the question, but it seems that she is saying that control isn't even possible?

Jessica Merizan knows as much about the development process of this game as we know about North Korea and the Cuban Regime... which isn't ****.

Why people seem to take anything she says as credible is beyond me...it is simply doublespeak that can't be interpretated as anything other than doublespeak.

I think the people who actually like control and synthesis are tangentially keeping us from our indoctrination DLC.

Actually, I'd like to play the DLC as indoctrinated Shepard when picking synthesis or control.

I'm all for destroy ending and I'm happy if I'm able to continue that way. But I think the other two choices shouldn't be omitted.

Yeah, what's the point of having 3 choices for an ending, with 2 of them being useless.. I mean who's going to pick control or synthesis if destroy is the only choice that continues in the DLC.

well having three options where only one works is hardly something new- its been done before. (maybe just a few cinematic for those options.)

besides defeating the reapers shouldnt be THAT easy- "oh its ok, you will win no matter which option you choose!!!!!"

But it IS that easy, you just walk up to your favorite choice and -poof-, it happens.. Don't act like there were any significantly hard choices in ME3.. There's no way the Reapers can win, even though BW promised that there would be.

war assets still come into play. and besides if it was SOOOO easy ,then why did so many people get fooled?

Thx for that bit of trivia, didn't know that but it totally makes sense.
