Also, read the end of my bigass post for my thoughts on the economics of EA and Bioware doing this.
Also, I happened to like TOR, what's so bad about it?
It didn't break records or new ground. You don't try to make a WoW-killer with Guild Wars 2 on the horizon. That's tempting fate twice. I didn't play it myself but the general feel I'm getting when I hear about it is that it's a gigantic "meh".
Also I'd like to take this opportunity to state that I actually liked Dragon Age 2. Like, for real.
I played it and actually enjoyed it, it felt like a very solid single player game. And actually it broke quite alot of new ground, unique stories for each class, each excellently written, for the first time, entirely voiced dialogue for EACH AND EVERY character, both big and small, an actual quantity of ROLE PLAYING worked in by it's very nature, Not to mention, one of the biggest game worlds to date.
No, I liked what little of TOR I saw, I doubt I'd ever play an MMO again, but TOR did make me reconsider, despite all my time on WoW.
And, same. I would have liked to see more, but unfortunately, people decided to cut that short. Dragon Age 2 could have been fantastic, and easily have knocked DA:O from it's pedestal in my heart, had they spent more time polishing it.
Let's hope DA3 revitalizes everything.
