Allan Schumacher good sir welcome back to the thread, haven't seen you post in a few hundred pages *salute*. I actually didn't know Kirrahe jumped in during that fight. He's a badass STG and all but, c'mon, seeing Thane fight again? Worth it.

Thane was dead in my game but Kirrahe was not.  Kirrahe demonstrates that his immeasurably high resolve in the sequence.  If you haven't seen it I'd recommend checking it out on Youtube.

Just checked it out, I wouldn't be able to see it since all my save games have Thane surviving. It's quite tragic, but a worthy death.

"Hold the line," I think we can manage that Kirrahe.

Interesting thought, if you saved both Kirrahe and Thane it would have been interesting if the Bioware team put them working together to fight Kai-Leng. Thane would probably still be gravely wounded, but the cinematic fight would have been a sight.

I only read the first page...sorry yall, ain't doing 1845 pages haha...gonna be hard to say something original with that many posts.

That being said, has anyone noticed that the N7 logo looks kinda like 1M1,,,don't forget about the little red triangle thing that makes up the logo.

So uh, according to books I've read...a lot of the graphics...including being beamed up and the background behind the whole TIM argument look very similar to a DMT hallucination...which some think is the compound responsible for Near-Death Experiences, 'talking to other/godlike beings'...life flashing before your eyes, repeating fractal imagery, etc.

I can empathize with a lot of the problems people have, but at the same time...IRL, you don't know what consequences your actions will have, nor is ti always easy to decide what the 'right' choice is. If the point of the game is that you "are" Commander Shepard, it kinda makes sense that you don't get a "resolution"...you wouldn't get to know if your friends were still alive or if your sacrifice made things better or worse.

The scene after the credits with the man talking about "the shep[her]d" seem at least somewhat biblical in nature. Man gives up life to end cycle of suffering and exists in everything? Not saying Shepard = Jesus, as they're definitely not entirely analogous...but Mordin does compare the crucible project to the Tower of Babel.

Welcome back to our "little" thread. I can't believe you let Thane die. Did you shoot Mordin too?
No I kid. I have to look up a Kirrahe video now.

Thanks for stopping by

FYI, don't mention tw!l!ght, the moderators hate it. Rightfully so

Haha I didn't let Thane die. I chose him to go into the tubes and unfortunately that didn't work out for him :(

I likes my consequences though! :D

If both Thane and Kirrahae survived I think Kirrahae does the fighting and Thane dies quietly of his disease. Much better for him to die fighting IMO.

You've actually read all of this? I assume after like page 5 it's mostly people saying "someone might have already said this, but..."

And someone always has. Except my ideas, they're completely original. Obvi.

Thane's death can come about a few easy ways in ME2.

If you didn't do his loyalty mission or failed it he doesn't have a loyalty shield and can die while "holding the line" while you take down the proto-reaper, or after the proto-reaper fight if you took him with you.

If you didn't upgrade the Normandy's guns, shield or armor there's a random chance of him (or Garrus) dying during the initial dog fight with the oculator...oculom...the.... the red eye laser beam things, or when taking down the Collector ship.

Or, if you give him the wrong assignment; sending him down the Tech expert tube is a no go, sending him as a fire team leader probably not a good idea, having him hold the anti-seeker swarm biotic bubble is also not a good idea.

I feel like I'm missing one, but most of these are easy to avoid if you do loyalty missions, upgrade the Normandy, and pick the obvious choices for Collector Base assignments.

My save files have both Kirrahe and Thane alive, Thane always fights Kai-leng, I always catch up with Kirrahe on the Salarian home world and gain him as an asset. Was just saying "what if?" ...."Speculation!!"

What happens of both Thane and Kirrahae are dead? The salarian councillor dies? What are the repercussions of her dying?

Oh i never tried that, read it somewhere. For me Kirrahae died back in ME1, missed one of his mission things by mistake. So I hear he is a cool guy? I'd do another ME1 run to keep him alive ;D

I beleive no one is there to stop it, the Councilor dies, Udina see's the footage, tampers with it to make look like You killed the Councilor. Ashley/Kaiden doens't beleive you when you encounter the Councilors and you are forced to shoot them. Not sure if their death can be avoided in this case, but haven't ever had to resovle it. I think it MAY be possible to talk Ashely/Kaiden back to your side IF you visted them in the hosptial all three times and picked the "polite" dialogue, but I'm really not sure on that.

Aye, it's a relatively noble end for Kirrahe, however I dislike how Shepard refers to him as "another Salarian" over the radio. Ruins the scene, IMO. Also, I did sort of get the impression that Kirrahe letting himself get shot in the face was just an easy way to pull a "this outcome isnt as good as if you had Thane alive". Surely he could have done a bit better than that? Still, that whole sequence was a nice way to capitalize on the presence of a couple of good characters.

The scene works for Kirrahe because it's him holding the line :)

I suppose it could be considered poetic, in a way.

On a side note, this is a must-see for any Kirrahe fans, for any who havent seen it.

Youtube is really the only place most people will ever see this, as Kirrahe is very low on the totem pole for that particular London speech.

Quick question: After the Destroy ending with lowest EMS, where Earth is obliderated, can you see the Stargazer scene, too?
Because, that would be kind of weird.

Stargazer scene always plays, as far as I know. In the context of the IT, it's because the Stargazer scene is part of Shepard's "hallucination" - he is imagining a future where the galaxy is free regardless of which option he picked.

K thank you, cause that's what I thought. If you've uhm 'gently caressed' everybody over, Stargazer shouldn't exist.
...wait....maybe that's the best ending! =D
Retake Dead Stargazer! I need that banner.

Outside of IT, suppose it's possible for a species to survive the low EMS red wave. Maybe somewhere not near a Mass Relay that happened upon one of Liara's time capsules.

That being said. Indoctrination, "One More Story."

Yeah, I've seen a few speculations for the face-value context of that scene. The most obvious one is that the crew of the Normandy repopulated the planet (icky since we apparently have an "adam and eve" reference in most playthroughs of the ending), but I've also seen it suggested that Humans were already on that planet and are alive for some reason, and that it could also be another Alien race that was "young" at the time of Shepard's cycle and is now free to develop.

Eh I thought to Stargazer scene was ok, I liked it. Cheesy, yes, but not awful.

"Lots of speculation for everyone," I think there's a little too much speculation for everyone o_O.
But, gets the theories going for sure.

It's post credits so who knows if it's supposed to even be part of the story.
Maybe it's just Bioware saying it's not over there is more coming without it actually being tied to the narrative

I definitley took "One more story" as a sign for future DLC, don't know if its post-ending or pre-ending is the thing. Well that and the onscreen message even says "you can expand on the legend with DLC" so.... *shrug*

EDIT: I think the whole message of the Stargazer scene is, aside from telling that Shepard's story is still being told, life goes on. Or rather, life finds a way.
