Guys i know its been talked before but im curious??/how will you feel if IT is confirmed?it would mean we got an incomplete game..not giving an end to the reaper threat at all. And the extended cut will be a bunch of cutscenes nothing more than that therefore it wont be enough as a proper conclusion to the reapers (because if IT is valid and the fight with the reapers is just about to begin a couple of cutscenes wouldnt do it justice)

How I would feel? Like the motherf*cking queen of the world

because I belonged to the people who were "right" all along, and because I wasn't indoctrinated.

Well at first i accepted IT too but after some time the fact that IT merely introduces the reaper fight to the game in the games conclusion itself just didnt make sense at all to me

Except IT doesnt change the fact that we still have the Crucible fully assembled and in position to dock with the Citadel. All you gotta do is wake up near the beam, then actually use it and go open the Citadel's arms.

Then the Crucible will do whatever its supposed to do. I always expected it to just be an anti-Reaper EMP or something

I don't know why, but when I read your comment I suddenly had a "vision" - wouldn't it be awesome if the Crucible suddenly started talking to you? Without the starbrat, but in a mixture of voices by all the civilisations ever killed by the Reapers? There could be a dialogue like the one with Vigil, with the Vigil theme playing in the background, and then finally the Crucible sends its wave of Reaper-destroy-stuff and you see them all break apart with that peaceful music in the background.

I'd like that.

I wouldnt. The crucible suddenly gaining intelligence and speaking would be crossing the line of suspension of disbelief almost as much as space magic does now. Plus, that suggests that Bioware really was lying about there not being a "reaper off button".

The Crucible is a galactic rickroll device.

Or maybe it's a device that uploads an neverending Nyancat video into the reapers! THE HORROR!!!

Or it could upload all Justin Bieber songs into them, but I don't think that even the reapers would deserve that kind of living hell.

yeah ok, the one speaking would of course have to be an AI within the Crucible, one every cycle worked on. It wouldn't be that much space magic. But alright, that's probably just me.

Rickroll: blue
Nyancat: everyone gets that, green
bieber: they can't cope and selfdestruct, red

Errmmm... I'm pretty sure the crucible engineers would realize if they'd be installing a full-fledged A.I. onto the crucible!

I'm not that sure, since none of them apparently had any kind of idea how it would actually work

I think it would ruin the moment more than you might realize.... A pre-recorded message/dialog would actually be kind of cool. Something that triggers when the crucible is complete and in position (assuming it works the way we think it does). But an interactive dialog or something as profound as you describe would be stealing the spotlight from the things we actually care about in OUR cycle.

As it is, one of the major complaints about the ending as it stands is that Shepard basically steals the spotlight from the things we really care about. When it comes down to it, we really dont care about Shepard, we care about our squadmates, friends, and allied races that we have grown attached to. Any plot twist or development at the end that steals the spotlight away from the things that we've grown to care about over the course of 100+ hours of gameplay will be unappreciated at best, loathed at worst....

Yeah, I'm not saying this should be the end. OF COURSE Shep should then return to his fleet, get a friendly pat on the back by Hackett, embrace his LI and so on. And all the other stuff, like actually SHOWING how your decisions mattered.

Wut? I care about my Shep, and Liara, and the kids. oO
But no wonder a Batarian wouldn't care about Shep :3

After I replayed the Tuchanka missions yesterday, I shed even more tears at the end of the Genophage mission. With the Vigil-theme playing at the end, with getting such a satisfying end to a storyarc. So beautifully done. If there were Oscars for video games, then the Genophage cure definitelly deserves one.
Made me think about what a real ending to the whole trilogy might've felt like - or still might feel like, who knows.

But back to the Crucible: We still don't really know what it does, do we? We supposedly saw what the supposed results of its activation were. But it's still a black box, isn't it? The Starchild didn't really explain it to us.

It's just that it seems to replace an annoying A.I. with the form of a small child with another annoying A.I.!
But A.I.'s still require a blackbox to run on, and at that point the crucible engineers would recognize the designs for a blackbox if they saw one!

Funny, but I think you know what I mean. We are supposed to view the world from Shepard's eyes as if they were our own. Do you think about yourself more than you think about others?

To make my point, tell me, what was the first consequence that you mulled over when being given options by the starbrat? For me, it was "Crap, I dont want to kill the Geth", followed by "No way would I ever force sweeping, evolutionary space magic modifications across every living thing in the galaxy without their consent". The fact that Shepard would die was the last thing on my mind.

What was the first consequence you thought about? What about the second? I'm betting neither of them were your Shepard. :P

I..IT IS NOT A THING YOU CAN COMPREHEND.

I wonder if the extended cut would be something like this: THE ENDING IS NOT A THING YOU CAN COMPREHEND.

Huh, it's weird, but I actually don't care if Shep dies at the end or not. You're right, it's about the squad. I just want them to survive. I'd be fine with a bittersweet Shepard's-funeral-scene if it's done well.

But despite the terrible ending (until now), i think everybody agrees the game was awesome. The soundtrack was incredible, for me the greatest game of teh series and perhaps of ever.

Series yes, ever no, not in my opinion at least. It is high on my list, but I got a few games I consider higher. Legend of Zelda mostly (dont ask me to name my favorite in that series, I really, really cant.)

Yeah, that goes from person. And it's really hard to sai the best, for that i said perhaps. But at Top 3 sure it is.

Simple! The Crucible and Catalyst are deus ex machinas!

Interestingly, deus ex machina literally means 'god out of the machine'

I dont want Shepard to die, because it would make Liara sad.

I am not equipped to handle that!
