What exactly is she sad about in that picture?

That is a good question..
Whoever finds out what happened in that picture gets a price!

Oh, I'm sure Blue Baby will be happy to write you a summary but will be a bit sad that you are gone at the same time.

So yeah I should get some sleep now, have to get up in 5 hours. Farewell, my fellow IT believers, and hold the line and so on.

Is it possible that the crucible unleashes an electromagnetic pulse? It's possible that it could unleash one and subsequently overload the reapers' shields.

A reapers' shield is its strongest defense, and if the entire reaper fleets' shields were taken down, I seriously doubt that they could withstand the combined firepower of the galaxy's fleets!

Just a thought! :)

Possible, but a electromagnetic pulse of that power would probably fry the fleet as well

You just made me think of something.

What if the crucible was meant to be concentrated on reaper code?
Depending on your EMS, the crucible can either have been as finished as possible, meaning it identifies the reaper code inside their ships, and therefore only overload their shields, and if your EMS is too low, the crucible is not finished enough, meaning it cannot distinguish reaper code from anything else, and will subsequently blow up all the combined fleets, while only being able to overload the reapers' shields?

That could actually be a viable option!

You know in regards to the Crucible I put some thoughts into what it could be it does. Most importantly I asked myself why one would need to pair it to the Citadel, what does the Citadel have the Crucible might need or what could the Crucible use the Citadel for.

The first thing that struck me was Mass Relay. The Citadel is giant Mass relay linking to dark space, but has anyone thought about what exactly it links to in dark space? There has to be another mass relay there to act as the second part of the connection and possibly something else might be there?

The Crucible might overide what ever security locks that keep any ships but reapers from using the Citadel relay allowing a force to strike at whatever is in dark space possibly destroying the Reapers through that, though to be honest that sounds a little to much like a Reaper off buton.

No, my other idea is better if I may say so myself.

We know one thing of the crucible at this time and that is that it generates massive amounts of power when activated. Now what if that power is an influx into the Citadel as well as signal that changes the Citadel realy so instead of fucntioning normally it lashes out with mass effect fields, capable of hurling objects, essentially like a giant Biotic space station.

Wreckage of ships would become gigantic projectiles propelled at the Reapers with devasting force and possibly even Reapers themselves if they got to close. This would certainly turn the battle of Earth to our advantage and devastate the majority of the Reaper fleets before they could escape.

But it would not destroy them and the relatively stationary (or at best slowmovng) bulk of the citadel would be hard to use offensively and as such the fleet you had gahthered would still have to push the remianing Reapers away, planet by planet, something you can do because of the heavy losses the Reapers incurred on earth  until they are forced out of the galaxy.

This would remove them as a threat for the time beeing, but not for all eternity.

They explicitly stated that the Citadel (which they also explicitly stated to be the Catalyst, meaning Task Manager has even less reason to justify his existence.) is there to provide power to the Crucible.

Though I will admit, turning the Citadel into a massive, ship throwing mass accelerator cannon is an interesting ide (remember those armchair generals?)

There's the other idea that it could merely throw the Reapers, bodily back into Dark Space.

Possible, but then they are simply back a few years later unless we can somehow throw them futher out (in which case we would need a Mass relay to receive them)

Not necessarily, the Mass Relays CAN actually throw mass without a relay to receive them, Some need one, some don't.

I agree. Whoever actually does whatever causes Liara to be as sad as she is in that picture deserves a hit ordered on them.

Though, to be serious, now that I look at it, I think its from LotSB, if you tell Liara at the end that you dont want her coming up to your room on the Normandy for a drink.

Even if the endings never happen the crucible still wouldnt be very different from how it worked before.the codex says it uses the mass relay network so maybe you press some button and you have some kind of "destroy ending" but still this is TOO SIMPLE i wanted the crucible to have some twist functions as we saw.
makes me think if the endings were executed more carefully with no major changes maybe the endings wouldnt suck?

I like that second idea. The Crucible/Citadel combo becoming some kind of conventional superweapon would be quite satisfying, and open up the possibilities of attempting to negotiate with the Reapers to GTFO, or attempting to defeat them entirely, resulting in different outcomes and consequences further modified by your previous choices.

Could tottaly see Shepard getting behind the controls once he realized what the combination did with a targeting marker on Harbinger showing up on a screen.

Shepard: "Assuming direct control of this station, ****!"

or

Shepard: "Lets see if I cant eyeball that sucker!"

Where does that come from? I have been through the game twice now and all I have heard we know of the Crucible is that it generates "unquantifiable levels of energy"

Lol. Bastard.

Anywho, back to the question that got brought up;

I have asked this a couple of times now in the IT thread and I sent a message to Byne and never received a response.

I have noticed at several points in the game when you get a clear look at Shepard's hands that they look very strange and grayish. Unlike how they look in either of the previous games. I also don't see that anyone elses hands have this strange look of decay on them.

I'm basically wondering if this is something that has been noticed by anyone else, or if it is more likely just the way his/her character model looks. The more I think of the circumstances of the game in relation to the Indoctrination theory, this weird look to Sheps hands makes me wonder if this isn't one of the signs that he is undergoing the process of Indoctrination. His hands look almost Husk-like.

Sorry for the random message, I was reading one of your earlier posts you linked about the birth of the reapers and I was inspired and it got me thinking of this thing with Sheps hands. It just looks too 'off' to be something wrong with the character model.

idk, I never really focused on Shep's hands. But hands in Bioware games have been looking weird recently. Hawke's hands in DA2 looked especially weird.

lol.. Liara has no personality whatsoever, plus her voice annoys the hell out of me.. I hate Tali more though. If I could I would kick them both off the ship and replace them by Miranda and Grunt.. I like Wrex more but he was cooler in ME1 tbh. Oh and I hate Ashley and Kaidan too.. ME2 squad was the best one IMO, plus EDI was actually an interesting character in that game unlike that horrible abomination she is in ME3.. and her ''romance'' with Joker freaks me out.
