The point about the Protheans is valid. It operated on its own network and was on a need to know basis. Basically, it was an isolated colony of scientists that no one off planet knew about. The Vigil even explains that, it's why the Reapers didn't find the planet nor knew about the Conduit or modification to the Keepers until Saren got ahold of the beacons.

If the Normandy had run and gone dark to find a planet to colonize, they would have been necessarily found by what means, then?

The Reapers have prior knowledge of the Normandy and even with its stealth systems, they may still be able to track it no matter where it goes. The Reapers are technologically far more advanced than anything and every bit of tech, even the ships, are designed primarly based on Reaper technology.

Not say there isn't a slim chance they could elude the Reapers until they felt they were finished, but the thought is a stretch.

Is there any proof of this? I wanted to see, but I don't have the heart to do a half-assed playthrough to witness it. :P

I saw someone's playthrough of that part and noticed Ashley was dead on the ground where Shepard falls on their knees. I dunno what that person's asset level is but in my playthrough, it was up in the 5000s and I saw no squadmates, so maybe it's true?

Which is Odd because I saw Ashley die, Yet I watched her step out of the normany at the end.

Bug? Or wtf.

Judging by the shape of the armor, I think that's Garrus.

What I also ask myself is: Where is all the equipment, the armor and weapons? Before the run Shepard wears a full suit and some weapons and when he wakes up there is only simple clothing and a pistol.

That's what made me think the ending was a hallucination.

But I'm pretty sure that a direct hit [ was it one ? ] from a reaper probably destroy most of your things.

And gain others? Such as a pistol, if you weren't using one?

Throughout all three games, pistol is pretty much the default weapon. 90% of the time, Shepard pulls it out to aim at someone's face.

the default weapon doesn't make any sense in ME1 you'd almost always draw the kessler/predator whle in ME2 you'd almost always have the shuriken regardless of your class I just assume shepard picked up the closeset pistol to him and that was that god pistol

Yes I did, and not only would Joker not leave but EDI would not have let him.

She rewrote her self preservation code so she wouldn't put herself above others.

You know what this reminds me of? That scene when Sully got shot and turns out it's all Nate's imagination because of the spiked water.

This post really get my hopes up

The place that the Normandy crashed would have already been colonized. A world that beautiful and full of resources would have not gone untouched.

Shepard hallucinated it to try to give her self peace the same as the Stargazer...before being slammed back in to consciousness and realizing that she was still alive.

I just can't believe when people say that. Joker is such an underrated bro. He's always there, and just because he isn't a squadmate, people don't care about him as much as Garrus/Thane ( I like these two a lot, though. ) . I always thought Bioware made Shephard act too hardly on him .

Joker states he is going back to the group after he drops off Shepard.

Spacechild thought: When I first downloaded the demo to play through I instantly said that the child was a hallucination. Also, if you played the demo it asks how many team members have been killed though your play through as this "is affecting Shepard" mentally, basically- saying either that they're going crazy, or slowly being indoctrinated.

The biggest supports I've found that are in canon for this theory is:
1. of course, the "Shep is breathing" bit
2. Oily songs, rachni queen, indoctrination

The dream sequences were always weird, when I watched my LI play through them Wrex and Mordin both whispered things. That and for me personally, the first dreams were filled with only humans, and as the game progressed I started to see Turians, and then Asari and Salarian.
That could go either way, either being that Shepard is mentally distressed by the events, or that since more races were being indoctrinated more were being added to the oily shadows.

I don't know, I just wanted to thank everyone here for the support they've unknowingly given. I'm going to go play through the game again so I can get that breathing scene.

When Shepard plugs into the geth network, the quarians are in their suits. She asks about it and Legion replies that Shepard's mind is partially creating what she sees.

Shepard was sort of inside the collective mind of the geth right?  That's why she could alter it to something she was familiar with?  So doesn't that make the indoctrination theory make more sense?  If Shepard's mind is connected to a Reaper concience, then what she's experiencing could be shaped and molded by her thoughts and fears as well as the reapers intentions.  Using her own mind against her, so to speak.

Arg, I'm not expressing my thoughts well here.

I can't find the youtube of it again, but yes, if your war assets are terrible, your team is up there dead next to the beam. In the vid, it was Garrus off the to side and Ashley in that weird "sleeping" or collapse sort of position. If you have higher assets (I had over 3400), your squad is swapped out for stock soldiers.

Actually, that's another good point. The "doll like" figures up on the Citadel have to be deliberate. In all other circumstances, the game shows mountains upon mountains of other dead soldiers as having a bunch of preset stock faces. Surely it would be easier to keep using that default face creator on the Citadel. Or have everyone wearing a helmet to bypass face generation all together.

It's amazing how deep this particular rabbit hole goes. Everything proposed by this thread seems crazy at first glance, but as I've digested it, reread the old codex's, stomached replaying the endings. It's all coming together..

I really hope this is the case cause I can't accept what we already have.

Hope dies last.

Is there actually any difference with Shepard between having a few companions dead to a lot of them dead when you start up ME3?

Honestly, they've lost all credibility with me. They have none. They need to stop talking in generalized statements that can be interpreted hundreds of ways and put a definitive end on this before it spirals even further out of control.

"Anything is possible" is the exact same dev talk that landed us here in the first place. It gives them enough room to avoid being called out on giving us false info. It's so broad that it can mean we're either right or wrong at this point.

Just clear up this mess once and for all, BioWare, even if it goes against what you had planned for announcing future DLC, if any. This needs to stop.
