Given how much the beam area looks like Star Kid's area, I think Shep's mind is trying to tell him going into the beam in reality would be a bad idea.

Why would the Reapers close the Citadel, which is virtually impossible to get into, but then connect a transport beam to it, and only defend it with a single Destroyer? And Harbinger gets there so late that at least Shepard survives, maybe more. Seems a lot like a trap to me Posted Image

Yep, that's what an intelligent and logical person would deduce.

At this point, I'm pretty sure Sherlock Holmes himself would be an Indoctrinist.

"when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth"

That quote is perfect!

Big Ben still gets fragged with low EMS.

That just raises further questions!

Why does a control signal (which I assume isnt actually a shockwave or anything) destroy Big Ben?

Why do the soldiers not cheer just because Big Ben got destroyed?

"Oh we saved billions, if not trillions of lives, but what about our pretty clocktower?"

So I know that there are several different veariations of the destroy ending. How many variations of the control ending are there?

Just the two.

Here is a video of all sixteen six-ish endings side by side.

Bioware said there were 16 endings.

They currently owe me 10 more.

We're at 7, you missed Shep alive.

Either way the amount of endings owed is greater than the amount of endings provided.

Addition: @Arian: I will watch the video and  those plates a thousand times and still not be able to place them as being in the game before. The closest similar objects I've been able to pick out are the vertical, slightly curving, plate structures that surround the inside of the beam as seen in the photo below (green circle).

Posted Image

The only other place I've seen something similar is during the Rachni Queen mission, pieces of the barrier/door lock that you had to shoot to unlock things. I don't have an image to double check so I'm using my imagination.... not accruate.

They could be part of the bottom of the Beam I suppose, we just need to find a shot of it somewhere. Even if we figure out what they are there's still those 2 objects behind Shepard's body to figure out.

Yeah I just watched the Thessia scene and they played the music.

That leave only the end scene the only TIM scene they don't play his theme song...weird

Definitely weird. I wouldnt say it stands on its own as one of the stronger pieces of evidence, but when you combine it with all the other strange things in that scene (even just about TIM himself), it all seems to add up to something.

TIM's change of heart and the kid running into the building before it was lasered are probably the two biggest pieces of evidence.

Other big pieces are the various Reaper growls heard during the pre-catalyst scene and everybody ignoring the starchild on Earth.

Thats about all I can think of as the major stuff/hard to explain away stuff.

I would add the breath scene, the body piles outside the beam, the radio chatter outside the beam, and Shepard's constantly changing physical condition throughout the entire end sequence to that list. Maybe one or two other things too, but opinions vary on how strong each piece is, individually.

Don't forget about Shepard's eyes when he chooses Control or Synthesis.  They aren't his cybernetic implant eyes, those have a different orientation of circles around the iris.

Whenever you've eliminated the impossible, whatever remains no matter how improbable must be the truth.

Fact 1:  Shepard's cybernetic eyes are NOT the same as his indoctrinated ones.
Fact 2: It was shown that Shepard had indoctrinated eyes when he chose control or synthesis.

Therefore,

Bioware intended Indoctrination and Shepard was Indoctrinated.

I think I have found what may have been my first post here on the IDT thread...

on page 299.

Damn I feel like an old man.

What if this theory is absolutely correct...

And Bioware, not wanting to risk another leak of their ending has chosen instead to make it to where the ending is not part of the original game... until a patch comes in when it is available in every region?

Think about it, they radically changed the game from the leaked scripts, why didn't they change things when THE ENDING VIDEOS themselves were leaked? Why did they give a statement saying "yup, those are pretty much it."

Otherwise, why the silence, if they aren't planning something? Why the fact that they have barely let out any info, beyond cryptic hints of "Just wait and see, can't comment yet."

It might be wishful thinking, but right now, I believe that Bioware has the entire ending all set up and ready... to be released in a patch when the game itself has reached maximum saturation.

It's like a magic show, the magician seems competent up until the end, when suddenly he starts failing, badly, and then, at the last moment, to the entire audience's suprise, he pulls off his biggest trick yet, to roaring applause.

Off topic:

I have a brother who has only just gotten around to playing ME3. He just passed Tuchanka and is loving the game, he cannot see how the ending can be so bad as everyone says when the rest of the game is so briliant.

I cant wait to see his reaction when he actually hits the ending.

Though I couldnt imagine how the ending could be so bad when the rest of the game was so briliant myself when I played it, I though there had to be some kind of mistake...I was wrong...

Anyway, did you ever reach a consensus on the lightning arc sounds vs battle sounds? It seemed like it was simply dropped after a point.

Workin  on it, haven't had time.

Also, updated memorial list, with a few pieces of old evidence that got long buried and figured I would dig out, check out the links.

And, in addition, heroes we've forgotten; Beast919, First compiler of evidence, Eumerin, first Cynic to present a solid argument, Dranume, first to add evidence to the argument, humes spork, first to sugguest the Shepard Alive scene contained concrete. k8ee, M U P P 3 T Z, Odd Bet, littleork, Beast919, the first regulars, now gone. Ariaya, creator of the "Destruction hallucinations are reapers trying to make Shepard despair" theory. Magnetite, who noticed the echo to be found in  the voices, as well as the whispers in the ambient music. Kyrstalevenstar, whom first dissected the Star Child's logic. suusuuu, the first person to claim tl;dr on the thread... on page 11. Thormgrim, first man to point out that Shepard could not survive the Citadel explosion.  Ellythe, first person to defend Casey Hudson.

Pages 1-12, 1900-1919

I briefly considered having a seperate list for trolls, but in the end, so long as they aren't blatantly flaming and just either dumb or capable of putting up SOME kind of argument, then I'll leave 'em on. I know, my magnanimity knows no bounds.

Also, finding some old evidence, perhaps we should dig through our own past, a bit archaeology next time we're bored., like these little gems;

I think the fact that the entrance to the Citadel beam (Conduit) and the place of the Citadel and Crucible connect (ending decision) look identical is very convincing.

Why would the Reapers close the Citadel, which is virtually impossible to get into, but then connect a transport beam to it, and only defend it with a single Destroyer? And Harbinger gets there so late that at least Shepard survives, maybe more. Seems a lot like a trap to me

Wasn't that the whole point of the mission, go to a beam to get the Citadel? Or is that a figment of your imagination due to indoctrination? Is the whole Earth mission fiction then?

Except we know less about the beam than we do about the Crucible, which isn't much.

My point was basically either the Reapers are really dumb or it's a trap.

Well I had this theory that C-Sec might have managed to close the Citadel when the Reapers hit it and the beam on Earth is for briniging groundforces onto the Citadel to take it back. Would also explain why the Relay network has not been shut down.

But shortly after the Kai-Leng scene you get a short video of the Citadel in Orbit over Earth and the tip of it closing so...impossible, sadly.

I just have one question for you guys. Harbinger just crushed earths rebellion forces, the fleets above are being torn apart, and hammer just lost it's main assault force, why not kill shepard now?

He has no use anymore, just make him die, make his heart stop if the indoctrination process is so deeply rooted into him that he can control his sensory input to this level. Make him think he died firing the crucible and leave him as a comatose vegetable in the rubble, problem solved.

Doesn't mean C-Sec has been wiped out, or that there's no resistance.

But yeah, right now we don't have a ****ing clue what that damn beam is or what it's for. They could be trying to drill to the center of the Earth for all we know.

I assumed it was because the Citadel, while also being a trap for each cycle, doubles as a kind of Reaper processing plant where they do their Reaper thing with organics; melting them down, fusing them with their tech and out pops a Reaper baby. While the Citadel is impregnable, they still need a way to get organics in, so they put this gravity well in to transport bodies. They close the Citadel so the annoying organics still resisting don't damage their babies, possibly, and know they'll try to do something with the Citadel anyway. Why only have 1 Destroyer guard it? They may have been overconfident in their invulnerability, or they simply didn't care if a handful of organics made it onboard feeling any of their attempts to stop the cycle are futile.

While I agree with your ideas, bottom line is we don't know ANYTHING about what's going on inside the Citadel.

Yeah, the eyes one is good. I forgot about that one for a moment. Not unequivocable proof necessarily, but definitely strong evidence.

How does one preclude the other?

Your still in the rubble of alliance command in canada. Anderson's calling your name and your choice will dictate whether object rho has succesfully indoctrinated you or not.

It seems I am older in treachery than I thought.

I think I have found what may have been my first post here on the IDT thread...

on page 299.

Damn I feel like an old man.

Jesus H Christ...

It just occurred to me.

It certainly makes sense. A lot more sense than that far fetched conspiracy theory that Bioware is stupid
