Oh god, who's Keyser Söze then?

Mr. Soze rarely works with the same people for very long, and they never
know who they're working for. One cannot be betrayed if one has no
people.

are those black things at the side of the screen when Shep is on the Citadel those "sour notes" the Rachni queen talked about? The "hushed notes"? it would make sense. It would also make sense that the dreams Shepard was having were the Reapers whispering to him/her.

they certainly look oily and fit the rachni queen's description of it but if I recall correctly the rachni queen couldn't be indoctronated we see her all cybernetic and reaper blue and everything but she says the machines could not control her so either the rachni somehow evolved to resist reaper indoctronation, she is in fact indoctronated, or she doesn't actually know what indoctronation is like but the oily shadows and hushed notes certainly fit the descrption of the dreams shepard has

She looks indoctronated but...I don't know.

Everyone is overreacting at this point. All the information needed to explain everything was included in the codices in-game. Most of us, myself included, didn't pay attention to it, hence the fallout. We can't blame BioWare, only ourselves, because they gave us all the information we needed. I'm just kicking myself in the ass for not recognizing it, having played since ME1.

Why would the Illusive man force you to shoot Anderson but not able to stop you from shooting him? Also, oily shadows during this scene.

while this does hold true to what the rachni queen said just remember most of the rachni's inter-species relations are very cryptic. I'm not discrediting this whole indoctronation theory since it proves that if this wasn't bioware's plan all along then the fans are better at finishing a story then the people who made the game

That is not necessarely a bad thing.

After all people showed that they need to think before they express opinion, a distinct lack of during the first few days of people finishing the game.

Almost everyone I talk knows there is something wrong with the end, whether or not they believe the indoctrination theory, they want something different.

WARNING SLIGHTLY OFFENSIVE
The few people that seem to like it (that I know personally) are chistian, or very linear thinkers, or they think that just cause the ending is similar to the matrix, it makes it good.

I'm just finding way to many parallels to real life about the way people are, who would beleive a god figure who is clearly lying, and which of us would actually be indoctrinated at that moment.

You know what this reminds me of? That scene when Sully got shot and turns out it's all Nate's imagination because of the spiked water.

This post really get my hopes up

It does seem to have merit. However, if Uncharted ended with shooting a couple of fireheads and then Drake waking up in an empty pool, I would've thrown the game against the wall.

Come to think of it, if my copy of Mass Effect 3 wasn't a rental, I might've done that.

If the Protheans can touch someone and learn their language enough to understand humour and idioms, the thing that controlls the Reapers could probably just scan Shepard's head.

I just thought of something really strange. In the dreams Shepard is moving slowly (like the ending) trying to reach the child, and then the Reaper deathray/laser beam vaporizes the child. In the end, Shepard is going towards a beam of light and eventually reaches that same child who allows Shepard to jump into a laser beam. Weird.

Well, considering everything after getting shot by Harbinger is "Divine Comedy, in Five Minutes, for Dummies" I can't imagine why.

The point about the Protheans is valid. It operated on its own network and was on a need to know basis. Basically, it was an isolated colony of scientists that no one off planet knew about. The Vigil even explains that, it's why the Reapers didn't find the planet nor knew about the Conduit or modification to the Keepers until Saren got ahold of the beacons.

If the Normandy had run and gone dark to find a planet to colonize, they would have been necessarily found by what means, then?

The Reapers have prior knowledge of the Normandy and even with its stealth systems, they may still be able to track it no matter where it goes. The Reapers are technologically far more advanced than anything and every bit of tech, even the ships, are designed primarly based on Reaper technology.

Not say there isn't a slim chance they could elude the Reapers until they felt they were finished, but the thought is a stretch.

It is stated that even though the current races are less advanced then the Protheans were, it would still take over one hundred years for the Reapers to finish. For them to evade completely, the Normandy (at least for the human crew) would have to turn into a generation ship as only a very tiny fraction of the crew can live past 100.)

Indeed... good points...

Anderson states he followed up behind you, but the conversation over the radio stated everyone had been decimated. I am not sure if that is part of the dream, because I thought the British Major was running to the beam too, but you hear him over the radio.
Anderson is not there.  I look around, and he is not there. If you try to walk away from the beam, you die.
The Cataylst does not talk to everyone the same way either.  I think the way he talks to you depends on your level of paragon/renegade  points.
You need to have a large military force to survive killing the Reapers, and you need to have an even larger force to survive letting the person representing killing the Reapers die. What does one have to do with the other>

Also, remember there are instances in Shephards nightmares where you hear the Reapers roar, then you see a red light show up on the ground all of a sudden.

I think a lot of us were mortally wounded when the ending came to pass. It's understanable we would rage out before thinking things through. Though nothing is set in stone yet, I am highly suspicious these theories are correct.

From here.

I'll say that this theory kind of saved the game for me. Even if it turns out to be wrong, it's still a lot more satisfying than the actual ending.

"I don't think we've revealed that yet"

There it is. That is the SINGLE biggest hint yet. I'm now certain that we've figured it out.

Absolutely! This post shows, that the DLC will have something to do with the end. There is just no other option.

Couple minor oddities I noticed from the art book.

"The image on the facing page is a concept of the keeper tunnels that were never used, where the creatures would walk around to maintain the station."

This implies that the Keeper Tunnels aren't in the game. But isn't that where we supposedly wind up in the Citadel? It's not 100% clear whether they're refering to the tunnels not being used at all or that particular concept which was much different, but tunnels is plural whereas image is singular. "Were" never used should be "was" never used if it was refering to that concept art. I haven't noticed any other glaring grammar errors in the book, so I'm going to assume that wasn't one either.

"One of the plans on the drawing board was to have the Illusive Man turn into a Reaper creature for the final battle. Eventually, this plan was scrapped, since we wanted to give players the satisfaction of fighting a character they know rather than a random creature."

But, uhh, we didn't have a battle with TIM. We had a weird cutscene. This may be remnants of the old, pre-leak ending but they've had a lot of time to change it.

Unrelated: If these endings are real, I'm annoyed Shepard tells them to just go away. My first instinct was "I'm going to order those bastards to fly into Sol." Nothing solves a Reaper problem like a 850,000 mile wide ball of nuclear fire.

vigil said they under estimated the effects of indoctronation and that the could pretty much only tell somebody was indoctronated when they reach that critical level where they're implanted with reaper tech or they're noticably trying to aid the reapers

Yeah, but that's never established.  I've never read or seen anything in the game that said the reapers were able to scan images in your mind and craft their own images accordingly.  At least the Protheans abilities are established in game.
