when does IT start? Before or after the run?

I mentioned before that I now think it happens before- right after the shuttle crash. That scene is so abrupt, one moment there driving normally, the next there running down a blurry incline toward a beam. (This could also explain the pesense of the trees before getting hit) it is also the first time we see Anderson's gun.

Also I think we mentally envisioned harby, although he was somewhere nearby. Like maybe Shepard knew something was wrong and mentally added harby to give him a solid enemy. Opinions? I really recommend watching that scene again.

This is cool. With now wondering where it actually started, we have something new to discuss.

Funnily, assuming the hallucination to start before the run would explain not only the trees but also the deleted scene where we see our sqad being shot down by Harbinger.

here is the video for others..

at around ~2min in the she shuttle crashes, and everything is blurry, also there is no "is everybody ok?" and shepard shows zero concern for his fellow teamates.

I can't remember, but are you sure that's a shuttle? I thought it was a ground transport.

Anyway, I tend not to buy any theories about being indoctrinated before Harby's beam. Too much of a stretch for me.

ALSO why did I not notice this before? I totally don't remember this, but...

Blasted by Harby

Space magic lift

Veeery similar (same?) noise. Because Bioware are lazy.

the ground transports are a kind of shuttle.

it could be something like.

idoctrination phases.
1. shuttle run
2.anderson/TIM conversation.
3. star brat.

Another thing:
Since all the stuff up on the Citadel seems contructed out of places Shepard visited before, IT assumes this as evidence for hallucination.
Now, if we assume the beginning of the hallucination before the beam run, then the beam run does in principle resemble something Shepard already saw: the Conduit run aboard the Mako. How the actual beam looks like can be extrapolationed by how Shepard saw it from far away.

(Maybe this has been mentioned before, if so, then sorry.)

But how is this pre-hallucination hallucination is enabled?

same way as the other ones. actually even easier.

shuttle gets hit (by some mysetrous force never mentioned)  shepard is unconsious- indoctrination begins

also there is no need for the whole "why didnt harbingers beam kill him" thing anymore because it was already IT at this point

Hmm what Vendetta said about the Crucible "Thus far, none have successfully defeated the Reapers with it." this implies the possibility of others completing the Crucible but never managed to defeat the Reapers nonetheless. This might explain why the Leviathan is mostly organic while the current ones are mostly machines.

I can not remember where I read it but I saw some speculate that Omega was the Prothean crucible cause it looks kinda like it.

It is never shown that the beam hits, just that it got very very close.

No, Omega was completely built in "our" cycle.

IIrc they tried to mine it but failed, then later it broke open because of a collision with another rock.

im pretty sure it hits....  just before the screen fades you can see some of the.... "laser shrapnel?" behind you, which means you were inside the impact radius.

but anyways,  like i said it can all be averted.

Also proof of where it says it was built in our cycle? The only
information we have is that it was used as a mining facility, but we are
never told when.

just because they tried to mine it doesnt mean they didnt build anything... (failed oil drillings still leave the drill intact )
and I think it was assumed that they were mining it "oh what an odd structure to build on a asteroid. ..well all we do with asteroids is mine them, so they were probably doing the same thing."

maybe.

And again, the noise you hear at this point is the same noise you hear when the space magic lift activates, and it's part of the music in the crucible

Hey guys.

I don't know whether this was posted before, but you should take 1-2 minutes to fill out this survey from the german Mass Effect community website.

www.masseffect-universe.de/comments--id-974.html

Seems at least kind of official, as Jessica posted it on her Twitter and "Can't wait to read the results".
https://twitter.com/...114135123738624

It also contains questions about the ending and indoc theory, so feel free to share your opinion there.
Right now there are more than 8000 participants iirc.

you cant tell from a picture....<_< but in the video it seems like some of the waves are going behind you.

also just because it blacks out we assume it doesnt hit shepard? thats a very LITTERAL interpertation.
"oh no! the beams about to hit me! here, let me just close my eyes...."

also some of the other beams DO hit you. it even looks like its done on purpose.

There is also the issue of the spaceChild getting all pissy if you have low EMS. There's not really any reason for this that I can see, taking the ending literally.

If you listen to this bit, you'll see what I mean

High EMS

Low EMS
http://www.youtube.c...czhHtqgY#t=859s

In the second one he sounds bored, like he's reading a script.

so shepard gets grazed by the beam and keeps running? but the other beam doeant hit him and his armor gets destroyed?

all these problems can be avoided

Yeah even if you just stand there they don't hit you.
