STOP COMPARING IT TO RED VERSUS BLUE.

Aside from the fact that Halo has as much to do with real military tactics, really the only fictional comparison we SHOULD be relating is "Ender's Game"

Losses are not material, hence people are expendable as long as we get enough people to the victory point.

The target is the only significant thing, therefore the enemy itself, if it can be avoided is unimportant.

And in general, if you were in the same position, what possible answer would you have? Fight Harbinger? Not an option, you'd waste valuable time and lose, hard, getting Hammer wiped out with nothing gained.

Only reason I'm comparing it to RvB is because I'm bored Arian. I pointed out the actual reason why the charge idea would be suicidal, its not like I'm saying 'we cant do this because RvB did it'.

Although one season of RvB ended with destroying all the AIs.... ;)

wait, wait, I think byne is on to something.

remember earlier in the game when you tried to get past a reaper? (tuchanka) you used a combined airstrike+ ground vehicles to distract it first.

granted you had a thresher mawl before, but the tactic still applies- distract the reaper and a small team can get past it.

but now suddenly a riddiculusly stupid head on charge when you have both ground vehicles and planes at your disposal?

makes no sense.

There is another scene besides ME3 ending in the series where TIM appears without his theme music playing in the background. When he tries to convince Shepard to spare the Collector base.

Is anyone else getting an impression that I'm ignored in this thread?

What? Did you say something? Sorry, wasn't listening. :P

But yeah, ill need confrimation on that to beleive it, but could be something.

Here you are:  .
I pointed this out because somebody stated that there's only a single such occurence in the series - at the end of ME3 - and that it's because TIM there is not the real TIM.

Hmm, in that scene in ME2, it's also the only occasion in which we just see his bust, head and shoulders, every time his theme plays we see his whole body.

Hmm I could have sworn his theme song played then...still doesn't explain TIM's shift from "I don't need your approval" to "I wish you could see it...its so...perfect"

So, I'm sure this has been mentioned before but I haven't seen it in the last 500 pages (when I started reading) so I'm going to say it.

Just watching the fiancé play the Chronos mission, and in the set of video logs featuring Kai Leng and TIM the former suggests killing Shepard. Now this is after the theft of the Prothean VI, by which time both Kai Leng and TIM are generally accepted to have been indoctrinated by the Reapers.

And what is TIM's reply? 'I'm not counting Shepard as a total loss just yet.'

Now why would he say that if the Reapers didn't have one final card to play? By that point he had, after all, attempted to murder a squad mate (in some cases a LI), and frequently attempted via QEC to persuade Shep to his cause, to no avail. There would be no scope to bank everything on one last attempt at talking him round.

Unless he was aware of the impending attempt at indoctrination, and thought it had a viable shot at working.

After Thessia, I don't see what TIM could possibly still want with Shep.

"not a total loss" doesn't need to mean that TIM still believes he can turn Shepard somehow. He could lead him to information he needs. And that's what he does on Thessia. He needs a Prothean or someone who has the Cipher to activate the VI - that's a pretty good reason not to kill Shepard yet.

Shepard will not be paying child support.

I think someone mentioned before that, because it is one of the last major scenes in ME 3, the TIM-theme wouldn't be very fitting. Same goes for ME2.

But TIM has already hacked the VI, hence the Reapers moving the Citadel to Earth (at least that's the general explanation), because he's discovered via Vendetta that the Citadel is the Catalyst. So why would he need Shepard after that? Particularly given the Reapers' motives are now his own?

No, I mean on Thessia: The Beacon/VI was only activated when it noticed the presence of a Prothean.

PS: I liked the dialogue there:

Liara: Oh, it must have thought you were a Prothean, because you have the cipher.
Javik: Or maybe it noticed the actual Prothean standing right next to him...

Ah I know, but the video log where TIM and Kai Leng discuss still needing Shepard occurs when Kai Leng hands over the VI - so it's dated after Thessia.

So, I'm playing the London mission for like the 10th time.

Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe they have so many phone booths around?

I mean, its 2186. We hardly even use phone booths now in 2012. Why would there be so many?

For some reason it reminds me of this Futurama clip.

-man?

Hmm, there is one discussion that you can overhear in... Illium? I think, where you get the idea that every race sees Asara basically as a blue version of themselves... is it the one with the Salarian's bachelor party?

Sorry, I played anti-joke-chicken...

I always interpreted that as the different species focusing on the parts of the asari that most appealed to them, and not really each one seeing the asari differently.

They all say she looks like them, and then the turian asks if Asari use mind control.

Why didn't the Reapers figure out that their creator was the Catalyst, and plan beforehand? Who was the first race to start the Crucible? The Reapers??
Whoever started the Crucible project must have had knowledge of what the Catalyst was, right? The Prothean VI did! That means they met the Catalyst! But, that would mean most species who constructed the Crucible beforehand must have known about his presence, too, right?!
But, why is it so complex?!

Oh yea, speculations. Right. Posted Image

Possible, but I like the "mind control" idea. Hmm, but that would mean that you see Asari in Multiplayer based on the race you're seeing. Hmm... Asari-Krogan? Ok, maybe I like your idea better after all... :P

If asari looked different to different species you'd think someone would have actually noticed and documented the effect though.

If they looked different to salarians than to humans, if a salarian artist drew what he thought asari looked like, everyone else would be like 'the hell is that?'

Plus asari in vids and stuff wouldnt be able to mind control you, so you'd see them as they actually look. If that was different than what each species sees them as, it'd be something someone would have noticed.

Plus, the turian bolsters my point by saying he is focusing on the part of the asari that most appeals to him: the head fringe.

I don't think they ever met him (if he exists at all). The VI just said the Catalist was the Citadel.
