I think the people saying that Bioware isn't good enough/couldn't pull this off should really take a look at what they're saying. We're talking about the same people that created this world, crafted each of the games, including this one which everyone pretty much agrees is utterly fantastic until the last 10 minutes. They have more invested in this than even we do. This is their baby. They wouldn't undermine everything they've accomplished with the lackluster ending we have now. All of the evidence we've compiled isn't 'just coincidence' anymore, and we're not scrambling to find things to make this fit. They're not going to say "Hey, look at what these people came up with, let's run with that!" This was planned. There's a clear, deliberate and methodical, cohesive way to follow it to this conclusion. It was easy to say that they might have just missed these things and since this makes so much sense they'd go with it in the beginning, but there is just too many things that fit now. If all the people in this thread have come up with this conclusion from what we've discovered, do you really think that after X amount of years of development, no one on the ME team noticed these things?

THIS IS DELIBERATE.

And it's brilliant.

It will go down not only as one of the greatest game series in history, but the greatest reveal for the ending of that series.

Mass Effect could never go out on a whimper, it's going to go out on an earthshattering bang. Just like it should.

Quoted for truth.

I'm sorry for dashing people's hopes, but stop and *think* for a moment. Don't settle for anything less than a definitive, "official" statement from the BioWare team. This "inside source" crap has to stop, along with people latching on to BioWare's ambiguous answers which don't confirm anything and leave more questions than answers.

my cousins husband works for bioware and i got some info this morning on the ending.
after shep is hit with the red beam he is indoctrinated by harbinger and its a hallucination of how shep thinks it would pan out, thats why anderson is there with you and your crew is magically teleported to the normandy on a planet and they all are safe, you will also see in the endings where shep lives that it shows him in a pile of rubble on earth and then he takes a breath for split second, my cousins husband also told me there will be dlc to continue the story in about a month.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

If that was real, we had the answer. Could be fake, still.

I smell a troll.. but... DAMN

True, a troll that happens to say everything we've said here...

The most disturbing part to me is the "in about a month" part...

What, delaying the game for 3 months wasn't enough we need to be soul crushed into despair before being told there's hope but you have to wait AGAIN for it??

Hudon had said previously they weren't taking a break because "The DLC is just so awesome"... after getting the Ashes DLC I did not see what could possibly take SIXTH months....

do we have our answer now?

well the thing that gets me is that the PAX East Mass Effect Panal is on April 6...exactly 1 month from release...don't want to get all giddy yet but it has merit....

EDIT: I just noticed Lookinglass said the same thing before me...nice

There's hope, and then there's just straight processing of information without thought. That also sounds like a machine to me.

You know what is interesting, though? The PAX conference & BioWare panel is in April...

Anything that isn't tomorrow is too long to wait in my mind from a financial standpoint. Goodwill is being destroyed every day we hear nothing.

It's hard to retain righteous anger for that long which I imagine they're banking on, but when that goes away, most people will just move on completely and not care.

In response to the panel, they absolutely have to have this figured out by then, or that's all they're going to hear about.

Honestly, I'm getting less annoyed by the ending and more and more furious about the lack of acknowledgement

I really feel sorry for the people who are still complaining about the endings and calling for action against BioWare without taking this theory into account, because it REALLY is pointing to all of this being true.

And I was someone who was neutral on the endings. I didn't originally hate them, I always thought something was a little off.

I'm almost more insulted by this ending than I am by just believing it was simply a bad/poorly thought out ending.

This ending relies on not just the Reapers but Bioware doing everything they could to trick players into making the wrong choice.

Is this the only reason EDI and Legion exist? To give us these sympathetic synthetics that show they can feel and choose, decide right or wrong... only to come up with an ending that seems to infer all Synthetics need to be destroyed for true peace. Given everything in the story, why wouldn't it just be destroy all Reapers? Well we know why it wouldn't be that, that isn't something that tempts players into rejecting it as much. I guess the temptation of power (controlling the reapers) or the temptation of toying with all things in creation (Synthesis) wasn't strong enough. They had to go to painstaking levels to push us away from Destroy.

This is like something you see from garbage professors who want to trick their students more than they want to test what they learned. The Reapers could have made the third option less appealing, but Bioware is the one that gave us Legion and EDI with so many heartwarming and contradictory paths proving that Synthetics can feel, choose, and essentially learn just like humans. I almost have to bitterly wonder if EDI is only a companion in ME3 just as one more way for Bioware to push more players away from the apparently right choice. They went so far in trying to make the third option unappealing that they took it to the point that Mass Genocide is part of the "correct" choice. I'm more disappointed than ever that this wasn't just a case of bad writing, but actually just mass manipulation. I guess an emotional proper ending wasn't as appealing as manipulating and pulling one over on everyone.

I haven't seen a single bit of info to disprove this theory. One thing I have noticed in ME3 a lot:

Renegade Interrupts are actually ones that even Paragons will take. Here's a small list:
-Udina
-Kai Leng's final battle
-Dalatrass
-TIM

I am a full-on paragon. Yet during those scenes, I always took the interrupt on impulse. It was weird. I noticed that there fewer Paragon interrupts in the main storyline than Renegade. Now, look at the Destroy choice: It's Renegade color.

Don't know what it means, but something I wanted to point out.

There is still no reason to believe that they are really destroyed in Destroy. Star-kid might be lying. But I see your point.
