OT - I think I'm going to replay the entire series. I've only ever played as a soldier, vanguard and adept. Anybody have any recommendations for what my next class should be?

I've played an infiltrator repeatedly, and I've loved it.

Infiltrator is fun in ME2 and ME3, but the scope swaying mechanic in ME1 is annoying as hell.

I mean yeah you can minimize it, but its still super annoying.

Hmm...I'm not familiar with that mechanic.  Does the scope just not stay steady while zoomed in?

Yeah about choosing destroy. I hope you don't think I'm a POS, but about 85-90% through the game I cheated and looked the endings up. It was three weeks after release that I even got to play it.

@ Arian Dyans

Wow. you know I didn't even think of Tali's suit as a shield from indoc, but wow. Super effin smart. Gives me something to think about while I continue watching TOS.

Not immediately, no. It sways around for a second or so and then steadies.

It's funny, ME1 is the game that taught me to love the sniper rifle.  And getting used to the sway mechanic in ME1 makes it MUCH easier to use sniper rifles in ANY game.  What can I say, you think the sway in, say, CoD is bad, you haven't experienced sway until you've played ME1.

Well, it certainly suggests to me that the ending either is a dream or at least has elements from the other dreams in it.

Ah, I see.  Well, I think I will try it anyway.

Are the engineer and sentinel classes also fun?

Alas, not quite. It's the same foliage scene in the actual dreams, just color-shifted because of filters and effects. It'd make total sense for them to reuse assets from earlier stages of development in this case.

While we're on the subject, here is some information on Infrasonic sound (a known tool of reaper indoctrination).

One study has suggested that infrasound may cause feelings of awe or fear in humans. It was also suggested that since it is not consciously perceived, it can make people feel vaguely that supernatural events are taking place.[29]

This part is in regards to an experiment where a group of people was exposed to infrasonic noise without their knowing:

The participants were not told which pieces included the low-level 17 Hz near-infrasonic tone. The presence of the tone resulted in a significant number (22%) of respondents reporting anxiety, uneasiness, extreme sorrow, nervous feelings of revulsion or fear, chills down the spine and feelings of pressure on the chest.[31][32] In presenting the evidence to British Association for the Advancement of Science, Professor Richard Wiseman said, "These results suggest that low frequency sound can cause people to have unusual experiences even though they cannot consciously detect infrasound. Some scientists have suggested that this level of sound may be present at some allegedly haunted sites and so cause people to have odd sensations that they attribute to a ghost—our findings support these ideas."[29]

Research by Vic Tandy, a lecturer at Coventry University, suggested that an infrasonic signal of 19 Hz might be responsible for some ghost sightings. Tandy was working late one night alone in a supposedly haunted laboratory at Warwick, when he felt very anxious and could detect a grey blob out of the corner of his eye. When Tandy turned to face the grey blob, there was nothing.

For the associated references, see the wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Infrasound

That's cool, didn't know about that. I love it when science gives the most natural answers to supposedly superstucious events.

If this helps the Reapers indoc. others, then here comes the great feature of ME of incorparating science so nicely. One of the reasons I love this franchise...

To me this seems to justify this Reapers sound...makes everyone who hears it more open to manipulation, like a catalysator for indoc.

Well, I'll just warn you that, based on what I tried of the engineer and sentinel in ME1, they are not very durable.  The sentinel in ME1 is not like the ME2 and ME3 sentinel at ALL in that regard.

I liked the engineer in ME1 and ME2, havent played it in ME3 yet.

Was fun being an engineer in ME2 and bringing Tali and Legion along on missions. 3 combat drones flying around annoying enemies while we shot them

Ah, I do need to play the original Deus Ex.  I'm assuming that the scope sway in it is MUCH worse than ME1's?

At low skill levels yes. Same amount of sway except the crosshairs moved completely randomly.

So, speaking of snipers, what is your favorite sniper rifle in ME3?

I just finished my infiltrator playthrough a couple of days ago, and was really not liking the class until I got my Javelin. Javelin with armor piercing mod as well as armor piercing ammo as my bonus power was pretty insane. I didnt even have to wait for enemies to leave cover, just shot em through walls.

Well, I used to stand by the Widow as my favorite sniper rifle, but I just bought the Black Widow and, well, it's a darn fine rifle.

Awwww, yeaaaah.

I posted it here on numerous occasions and nobody wanted to consider it.
When my LI and Shep were in the Captains cabin, talking, looking out the roof window, my LI suggested how it would be to just run away, settle down on a distant world and leave everything behind.
Then my LI smiled at the sight of this paradise planet Normandy just crash landed on.

Considering this, my theory was: This is a dream, Shepard's final wish of seeing her LI at the happy place (s)he wished for. The last dream of hope for our hero.

This screenshot reads like a solid proof. Finally...

The Incisor. [/trollface]

But in all seriousness I'll be boring and say the Valiant.

I had wondered about that.  However, I wasn't sure considering that Shepard spent how much of his time around Reapers in full armor?

The difference is Tali wears her Suit at any time, also it's a question of how much weight her implants have on that sort of thing. I wouldn't base anything meaningful on it, sure, I only mentioned the possibility.
I would have to check every squad mate, maybe record it and post it on YT too. Would be better to analyze.

Btw I always add people as "Secret Organization - Evil" :3

So that's how I'm going to be listed, huh?  I like it.   With regards to Tali and indoctrination, I think it would be great if you could post each squadmate's dialogue from that scene.

Edit: Also, I just had a thought.  If we assume that Shepard was also exposed to a Reaper signal on the Normandy, then whether or not armor had any effect of the signal would be a moot point at least in that context since he does not wear armor on the Normandy.

So wait.. i'm probably coming in to the middle of this, but you two are debating if Tali is pure of indoctrination because of her suit?

If that's the case, remember, noise dampeners are a thing, and probably could easily filter out the background hum.

It might cancel out specific stuff, but a certain range is never canceled out as she needs to hear the hum of the engines.

Considering that Indoctrination occurs entirely at the subliminal, which is to say Ultrasonic, level, and that more than likely, only people with EXTREMELY acute hearing, such as perhaps James, should even be capable of hearing it.

I like the Incisor, but it IS pretty much useless on insanity.  On normal or MAYBE hardcore I might use it more, but not on insanity.

Generality, although reducing emotion, seems to add to the comprehensibily.
In my case, LI is Liara.
