Well guys I dont know if the IT is true, I havent touched Mass Effect 3 singleplayer since I beat the game. I suppose how the ending is has hit home harder than I thought it would and it makes me wonder if they were going for IT wouldnt they have made more subtle hints at the theory itself, maybe still make us figure it out but still more subtle hints that what we got. I sorta feel its not worth playing ME series again on my PS3 and I should wait to do so when I can finally get a 360 again. But this train of thought isnt because I dont like IT in its self but it surely didnt help me wanna play ME3 again like it did for some people because if this is what Bioware was going for than why didnt they make it a bit more obvious and less seeming like IT believers are grasping at straws so they can keep playing ME3?

I'm not completely sure what you're trying to say. Are you trying to say that you won't be playing ME3 because the IT doesn't make you want to do that?

Well, too bad for you, I guess.

This was actually the reason why I popped my head in the thread just now, in that I wanted to say that the discussion in here---despite the blunt-headed garbage going on in other threads about the theory---is mostly-always lucid, civil, and intelligent, and it feels more comfortable than in the other quadrants of the forum. I don't participate much in here since I'd just be unearthing the same clues and offering my interpretation, but I always enjoy looking in here and including whatever I can. (thumbs up)

The other threads feel like a battle zone; this one feels like a playground. And for someone who just wants to chat about the themes and theories of the game, since a lot of this theory itself pivots on them, it's great.

Lol i just saw an article someone wrote saying IT was a bad/ cop out ending. he then added that this was his opinion, and that he didn't like the end of The Usual Suspects.

He should really move that Usual Suspects part to the start of his article so everyone can know not to read it :P

I too hate being tricked by twists.

The Sixth Sense, Fight Club, KOTOR...

I mean come, on Vader is Luke's father... ?  That's such lousy writing.

Did anyone even like those movies?  Who even played KOTOR either?    Who wants to watch a movie where there is subtle plot development and events that challenge their pre-conceived notions?  Not me.  I want a spade to always be a spade.  Speaking of David Spade - I hated it in Tommy Boy where it turns out he's bald.  I just thought he was a selfish little ******, but then it turns out that he's self-conscious and can actually be a really cool guy.  NOT COOL!

Ok enough Sarcasm.  I'll return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

I've visited some other threads where this is "discussion" of Indoctrination and it's just crazy.

There was one where the thread creator was saying that since there is no direct evidence for IDT that it is untrue.
And then when an intelligent person pointed out that in a court of law there are several kinds of evidence allowed – not just direct evidence. There are several different kinds of evidence - such as circumstantial evidence. And yes, IDT is based upon mounds of circumstantial evidence.

Some people just cannot accept IT and they truly believe that they are intelligent, thoughtful people that are engaging in rational discussion. But, most of them are clearly VERY stubborn close-minded people.

This is the age of video. And sadly, for many people, if it’s not on youtube it’s not true. If you can’t see it, measure it, weigh it, etc. then it isn’t real…

On the flip side, for many of them video is truth. They can’t consider the possibility that what they are seeing isn’t real. Like Reality tv… Anyone who really believes that what takes place on so called Reality Tv is real should send me $100 right now and I’ll send them my proven plan for using hypnosis to conquer the real estate market.

Morning, guys!

Anything new?  It sounds like there's some news from BW, but I couldn't find anything specific.

BTW, I'm 100% on-board for Grunt as the first Krogan Spectre!

Here's some possible news: maybe a hint towards the rumored Rebellion pack:
blog.bioware.com/2012/05/09/operation-silencer/: "The vorcha want in, and as soon as they complete combined-arms training
with our technically-skilled personnel, we will let them loose."

Thanks a lot for the info, Max!

You have any new ideas about IT?  Always interested in your opinions.

Still love the sound files posted by @TSA_383 from the shepdead Jungle scene and shepalive breath scene. Imo some interesting background going on. Seems to fit with what @DJBare suggested about the electric discharge sound at the Citadel console.

I still think my youtube video was cooler

No, it's cool, but for the squadmate lines, I like the "Never ending nightmare" video somewhat better, the background music creates the proper atmosphere for the lines. I think they were intended to be heard with emotion.
But for objective analysis purpose, it's better.

Yvonna delivered Miranda's lines LIKE A BOSS!

Kudos for you're little "Shepard" sequences.

EDIT:
What do YOU hear it say?

Definitely hear both "Harbinger" and the child saying "Please come home" (brilliant find TSA).

What I hear:
bioa_nor_600dream.wwise_norhub_dreams.env_nor_dreams_child_creepy_VO_01
Come with me

bioa_nor_600dream.wwise_norhub_dreams.env_nor_dreams_child_creepy_VO_02
Come with me

bioa_nor_600dream.wwise_norhub_dreams.env_nor_dreams_child_creepy_VO_03
??? come home (guess that is what you guys see as "please come home" but I cannot tell if the first word is really please, too distorted for me)

Also the creepy sounds after that, these are pure guesses of what I think I hear, some lines are also just too distorted to make out any word)

8:08-8:23 (4x, and several times before, but this is the clearest one, increasing in clearness/volume/forcefullness)
Come with me (last one seems to be only "Come")

8:34-8:47 (also repeated multiple times in that timespan)
??? future / Harbinger (can't tell if its either the one or the other)

Nice.  You guys must have better hearing than me, I can't hear anything but grunts, growls, etc.

I remember that one, and I believe I commented in it.  If I recall correctly, didn't that thread eventually devolve and reveal that the original poster was just trying to incite anti-IT anger?

My thoughts exactly!  I too just kinda pop in when work is slow.  I used to hang out more-so on a couple of other forums, but this thread is the about the only one left that is civil enough to tolerate.  I'm not sure what that means for IT...

Well IT doesnt effect me that way but what I am saying is I dont think Bioware intended for IT because its not hinted at enough in the game if you think about it. The hints wouldve been more subtle and easier to see considering this is Bioware, I think if IT does become true it means Bioware decided to listen to the fans.

I am also saying ME3 endings make me not want to play ME3 again and IT didnt meld the damage the ending effects had on me like I thought it did. I sure as hell want to play ME3 again but I cant bring myself to play ME3 because I dont want to see the ending and its the only thing I think about when I try to play ME3 again. Even if I just go with ME2 I get to thinking where this is going to lead and that its going to lead to a path I dont not want to fully walk down.

Is there some kind of maximum page limit or something? If not, why would we leave a 2200 page thread? This is the place where IT talk takes place. You know how we all know and like to link to this video an this blog? This thread is the other thing that everyone who supports IT knows about.

Hell, this thread is a community.

I like that you called this a playground.

It’s amazing how much more can get accomplished with rational, thoughtful discussion instead of everyone shouting at once or just waiting to disagree.

Any healthy discussion needs to have some disagreement or all you get is everyone standing around agreeing with one another and that doesn’t challenge anyone. It’s the same in business, if you surround yourself with yes-men/women, then all you’ll ever hear is that your ideas are great.

Too many people don’t like being told they’re wrong and I blame schools. Too many kids get gold stars just because “it’s wrong to tell a child they didn’t do a good enough job.”

I work with mostly people who did not go to college and it is amazing how many of them cannot handle being told their ideas are unfeasible, that they need to flesh out their idea more or that they’ve been passed over for promotion because they lack the necessary skills. In college I learned to think on my feet, present something and have to defend that position, idea etc. I also learned that not every idea that pops into my head is instantly gold. I learned to look at my own work critically and make corrections before it was presented to others. But when right, I learned to defend my position with accurate, relevant information. When my boss questions a move/action I made, I’m confident that I can explain why I did something at least. And 99% of the time she agrees with me. And when not, I do it the way she wants the next time but at least she knows and respects why I did it the way I did.

Yeah, that doesn't appeal to me at all.

I want a good ending to ME3.  Why does it have to be about who's right about the ending or not?

But I guess some people just can't except things they don't agree with being apart of their world.
