And what if you're wrong?

Can I send you a bunch of messages and prance around with a big "I told you so expression on my face?"

Yeah, that doesn't appeal to me at all.

I want a good ending to ME3.  Why does it have to be about who's right about the ending or not?

But I guess some people just can't except things they don't agree with being apart of their world.

*Edit* The main reason I’m looking forward to EC is because I love the game. I’m not in it to make other people look stupid, to belittle people and act like what I think is superior to anyone else.

This, this, oh GOD this!

Agreed 100%.  I like the IT theory mainly because it has brought so many ME fans hope for a better future for ME3's ending and got so many ppl to speculate and not be so depressed and/or confused by what we got so far.  However, I don't need IT to be true, I just want a good ending, something that makes me feel the joy I felt playing Mass Effect 1 and 2 and most of 3.

So as previously stated, does it really matter if IT is true or not as long as we get a good ending?  IT brought disgruntled fans together and gave us reason to play ME3 again and restore our faith in BioWare.  if IT is wrong we can still hope that BioWare will deliver something that satisfies their fans.  If they can't even do that...then maybe they shouldn't be making video games anymore.  But personally I still think BioWare is a great company that knows how to tell stories better than nearly any other dev out there.

Stand fast. Stand Strong. Stand Together.

And above all, Hold the line!

Well guys I dont know if the IT is true, I havent touched Mass Effect 3 singleplayer since I beat the game. I suppose how the ending is has hit home harder than I thought it would and it makes me wonder if they were going for IT wouldnt they have made more subtle hints at the theory itself, maybe still make us figure it out but still more subtle hints that what we got. I sorta feel its not worth playing ME series again on my PS3 and I should wait to do so when I can finally get a 360 again. But this train of thought isnt because I dont like IT in its self but it surely didnt help me wanna play ME3 again like it did for some people because if this is what Bioware was going for than why didnt they make it a bit more obvious and less seeming like IT believers are grasping at straws so they can keep playing ME3?

I'm not completely sure what you're trying to say. Are you trying to say that you won't be playing ME3 because the IT doesn't make you want to do that?

Well, too bad for you, I guess.

Well IT doesnt effect me that way but what I am saying is I dont think Bioware intended for IT because its not hinted at enough in the game if you think about it. The hints wouldve been more subtle and easier to see considering this is Bioware, I think if IT does become true it means Bioware decided to listen to the fans.

I am also saying ME3 endings make me not want to play ME3 again and IT didnt meld the damage the ending effects had on me like I thought it did. I sure as hell want to play ME3 again but I cant bring myself to play ME3 because I dont want to see the ending and its the only thing I think about when I try to play ME3 again. Even if I just go with ME2 I get to thinking where this is going to lead and that its going to lead to a path I dont not want to fully walk down.

All right, I can understand that. I can also see how the endings taken at face-value really could have ruined the series for a lot of people. I quess I'm one of the lucky ones.

I mostly deal with the endings by remembering everything that has made me love this series... From the moment the Normandy for the first time travels through the Charon relay right up until Anderson's death. If I keep all my fond memories of this great series, (of which there are many, mind you) the ME3 endings don't really seem like that big of a deal with me.

I guess I play Mass Effect the same way life works: if you keep on just thinking about how it all will end... Then life itself is not worth living, and you might as well become a nihilist.

Hey you know how people say the phoenix classes are protheans? they could say they found more on eden prime because liara only says that javik was the only one cerberus found but they werent there that long and it is possible that more could have survived and were missed in the rush to get javik and in the battle to kick cerberus off the planet.

I really wish I had done a running tally with this recent play-through of exactly how many times the game mentions "indoctrination".

Just finished the Cerberus-Citadel infiltration mission, and I think it's pretty pertinent that one of the bigger events in the entire game pivots on a potentially (likely) indoctrinated person ... and that it was punctuated at the end by Ashley (and, I assume, Kaidan saying something to that equivalent as well) saying "How can we fight an enemy that worms its way into our minds?". I mean big, bright neon sign there.

I mentioned it a few days ago, but it's just too damn prominent in the story proper to be something that you can ignore while interpreting what's going on.

If all the Reapers were at Earth, then it would be a good way to wipe out the allied forces

With the collector base gone, the reapers may not have another way to make reapers.  The Citadel has probably always been used for collecting bodies to make other reapers.

Based on earlier evidence it is believed that the reapers only believed humans to be useful for reaper form.

Now, that isn't to say that the other races won't be harvested or used in some way - maybe made into destroyers but it seems that the big ships are only created uses the best of stock.  In this cycle - humans

Sorry for the late answer.

True again. The Reapers are dispatched through the galaxy and there is alot of them. But the bulk of their forces (or at least the "elite force") is on Earth with Harbinger himself to lead them. They know we have the Crucible and they know we're coming for the Citadel in an all-out battle and they're waiting for us, well prepared. Could it be that they've underestimated the power of the allied forces ? I don't think so...

As for the Citadel being used to collect the humans and eventually process them, why not (though they could have waited till they exterminate the fleets and then move it to Earth) ? It's also killing two birds with one stone : a new "collector base" and a trap to lure the allied forces on their own destruction.

I might be completely wrong and I'm getting totally out of topic, but I'm very interested in this part of the story (besides the IT) and I find the "Crucible" (as giant super weapon) and moving the Citadel to Earth, too simple and too convenient. A clear answer about "Why London ?" would be also cool :D...

Seriously, whatever happened to the notion of saying "I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"?

Instead today there are far too many people that say “I disagree with you, so SHUT UP!!!”

Here’s something to consider.
Cerberus’ top man – TIM – had been indoctrinated. TIM had EVA grab the plans for the Crucible.   Did Eva have time to:

1)       Alter the plans making the Crucible function differently

2)       Send Cerberus a copy of the plans that were forwarded to the reapers so they knew what to expect. Victory says that the nature of the catalyst was kept secret because the reapers would protect it.

So was the Citadel/Crucible the bait to lure Shepard into a trap to finally indoctrinate him/her?

I'm not near that point in my current play-through, so I can't comment on this confidently, but isn't there a moment near the end---if memory serves, around the storming of the Cerberus base---where The Illusive Man suggests that he has a clue as to what the catalyst is capable of?
