My belief (and I think the consensus of most of the people on this thread) is that the jungle planet scene is Shepard dreaming after the final decision.  It's a dream of hope that Shepard has to make him/her feel like the best choice was made

Seems like a reasonable way to look at it. I still feel like we're missing something from that scene...

I
just finished another playthrough. Though I find the whole Maj. Coates
theory dubious at best, I did notice that his line "our forces have been
completely decimated" (paraphrase) began at exactly the same time as
the camera panned to Harbinger flying away. It could be something,
maybe. Or nothing. That and Anderson knowing Harbinger by name and that
he was one of the reapers coming down seems suspicious. Either "clues"
or coincidence and and poor writing.

I had a problem with Coates, he always made me feel a bit... uneasy. The way he's portrayed isn't quite right for a good character. You could put it down to the stress of the situation, but then, if he's with you at the end, why isn't he at the beam?

I personally argue that it's (1) part of the indoctrination of the players, but moreover (2)simply had to be done. If the game had ended right when Shepard's decision had been made without showing the ramifications of said decision (as it technically should have, if IDT is true), people would've gone even more beserk than they did, and would scream (and quite justifiably) that the game wasn't finished.

Interesting, but doesn't the Alliance know Harbinger, according to the Codex? So the fleet should know and recognize Harbinger from afar. Remember the last shot of Shep in ME2 where he's holding a tablet with Harbinger on it before looking into the 'sunset'.

But why Harbinger decided to 'direct this personally', or our brave hero's sudden fear of Harbinger, dunno.

This last scene of ME2 has puzzled me ever since the moment I saw it. How did Shepard get those schematics?

As for Coats being a Reaper Doomsday Device - I don't think so.

@TSA_383 if i list the main parts could you tell me if they will all go together properly and work?

Sure thing, although at a guess:

-Get a better motherboard
-Get a better PSU
-Have you thought about cooling?

Shoot. Posted Image

ok here goes

CPU - AMD Bulldozer FX-4100

MOBO - ASUS M5A97 Pro

RAM - Corsair Vengeance 8Gb (2 x 4Gb)

video card - Asus GeForce GTX 560 Ti

Case - Cooler Master HAF 912

PSU - OCZ OCZ600MXSP-UK ModXStream Pro 600W

thats all the major stuff i think and as for CPU cooling i thought mabee this

http://www.amazon.co..._cp_computers_2

CPU - it's not fantastic - it's the slowest bulldoser chip - but it'll do. Consider Intel's new ivy bridge series though, the ivy bridge (Z77) motherboards and the processors aren't that expensive (maybe add up to £40 more than the combo you've got here) but they're a lot faster.
Mobo - For the money, it's a good board, but see above and consider that option first.
Ram - Not a lot to say, Corsair's vengeance stuff is nice enough
GPU - I've had a few problems with the recent nvidia cards, so I'm biased, but I'd prefer ATI personally. It's certainly not a bad card though, should be plenty quick.
Case - YES. Good choice. My case is a HAF X and it's epic.
PSU - Yeah, these OCZ PSUs are a bargain, I use them when making midrange builds that don't justify corsair/fractal/whatever psus and they're great. They're a bit noiser than the equivalent corsair/enermax/fractal etc but you're not likely to load it up enough to notice.

CPU Cooler - In short: no.
In long: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Titan fenrir maybe? That's always been a bargain.

Why not get a intel CPU? A new generation i5 will probably perform better.

Didn't TIM have them during ME2?
Or did we see him studying them in ME3? Not sure atm...

Yeah, I completely understand the reasoning behind the indoctrination being completed by showing shepard a scene of hope etc., just thought I'd try and look at some way of interpreting the that scene outside of IT (or as I call it canon Posted Image )

You know what bothers me? Arrival.
Like, all of it.
We get told by an indoctrinated reaper agent that they need to be rescued, by shepard, who must come alone.
We rescue them, and they take us to a reaper artefact that knocks us unconscious for 2 days whilst they do god knows what.
Then we wake up with a relatively short amount of time (apparently) to "stop the reaper invasion" by committing genocide of the batarians. When we attempt to contact the batarians, said reaper agent from before stops us (why would she even care at this point?

Then we get outside, have a lovely little chat with Harbinger, who drops by to tell you "your mind will be ours" and then we get to go back and find out that shep is now going to have to face terrorism charges and that the Batarians may go to war, causing shepard to be confined for six months and prevented from spreading the message that the reapers are coming.

Now, excuse me for being a total cynic, but something there doesn't quite sit right with me

At first I thought that the devs just didn't have money for squadmates' VO and that's why the plot was for Shepard to go alone. But there's something fishy about Hackett after all that happened in ME3.

Object Rho was pulsating at steadily increasing intervals moving closer and closer to a constant pulse. At the constant pulse it meant the Reapers were in system. Granted, that info was solely from Kenson, so...

Also, it was Hackett that sent Shep to Aratoht alone. He was afraid an entire unit would look like an act of war (ironic since he sent a platoon if shep didn't do it). From a storytelling perspective it was either an excuse to Indoctrinate shepard (without having to indoctrinate squad members) or an excuse not to call in voice actors for extra dialog lines. Then again, you could bring someone with you to LotSB and I don't think they had any lines... so probably the indoctrination one.

Do you mean these crucible cables?

If so, they're not the same.

Unless you're talking about these big tubes in the top left corner:

In which case they look very similar to big(ger) tubes on the crucible

Did they warn us on twitter or something?
No, we only have Kenson's word for it, and something tells me she's not terribly reliable ;)

Btw it seems there is a distinction between story relevant DLCs for ME2, and the ones which are not.
LotSB and Arrival are named DLC_EXP_Part01 and DLC_EXP_Part02 while Overlord is named DLC_UNC_Pack01, the UNC is also used for the Hammerhead thingy and Normandy Crash/Monument.
