Yeah, there are some bigger ones just like that on the Crucible. There are also some down in the Drive Core on the Normandy.

just figured it could relate to the whole reusing memories part of the dream.

Anyone notice the cables connecting the ems display in the war room to the QEC are the same cables connecting parts of the crucible? like the ones stuck on the back of the mako display thing i dont have screenshots maybe someone else does.

Do you mean these crucible cables?

Posted Image

If so, they're not the same.

Unless you're talking about these big tubes in the top left corner:

Posted Image

In which case they look very similar to big(ger) tubes on the crucible

Yeah i mean the bigger ones cause they are like the exact same i noticed

The rebuilt SR2 is full of loose cables. Aside from implantationary indoctrination leading to the nightmares, depending on how well they are shielded, these cables could also be emitting energy signitures that result in nightmares and such.

Poorly wrapped electrical wiring is a common cause, (though not exclusive), of falsely identified hauntings. I suppose it could be possible that these could be resulting in indoctrination symptoms, but there is extremely little narrative ground for it.

I'll admit. A small small teeny tiny part of me wants the endings to be literal just so I can play the EC and watch Bioware try to clarify that mess. It'd be really, really funny watching that.

That and watching the ensuing inferno that would overtake the forums would be absolutely hilarious.

One thing though (first post on the forum, but being reading for a long time), why would Harbinger try to indoctrinate Shepard instead of just destroying her/him with the beam?

Don't get me wrong, I think everything pointed out in this thread make a lot of sense, and I hope this theory comes out to be right. I actually think it is right.

The last big swath of Mass Effect supporter's would dissapear IMO, all that will remain is the literal pro-enders.

Either scenario is going to feel surreal IMO.

We don't know necessarily, but the Reaper's have wanted Shepard since the beginning of ME2.

Martyrs are much more of a pain to deal with.  If Shepard is flat out killed by Harbinger you can be sure that the raage induced fighting from everyone would increase massively. Would it necessarily change anything? Unlikely, but it could cost several more Reaper ships etc. People fight to avenge martyrs incredibly hard. (Joan of Arc)

Also, turning your foe into you pawn is a massive insult. Shepard has resisted the Reapers for so long, but sitll fails and becomes a pawn of harbinger.  Reapers are arrogant, this would be one more way of showing how superior they are to us.

On a tactical front an indoctrinated Shepard would be very valuable. The galaxy is following Shepard, not Humanity, not any other individual, Shepard. If Shepard is turned the galaxy-wide resistance would fall apart to their own in-fighting. If they could get Shepard into certain meetings they information they pass could wipe out any vestiges of resistance very fast.

My personal take is it’s because of the amazing influence Shepard has over others. He seems to be the mouthpiece of the united galaxy and that would be a very powerful asset to have on the Reapers side. Imagine how much easier it would be for the Reapers to win a war if Shepard was on their side, after all Shep not only rallied and spearheaded the galaxies greatest forces together but was able to convince the Krogan and Turians to unite.

He’s even able to get the Geth and Quarians to share a home-world. That kind of person is a very deadly enemy but an even greater asset.

If they don't want to indoctrinate, why would Shep even be alive, it's quite clear Harbinger always hits if it wants to.

Guild wars is awesome. I'm already taking part in the beta weeks for Guild Wars 2, and I gotta say, it's amazing!

Is it as PvP-centric as the first? Looking for a new MMORPG with a friend of mine, he keeps trying to talk me into that or Tera. And Tera's word filter can't be disabled. Which... let's just say that would not work for us and move on. Can't stand PvP though.

Gah. I wish EverQuest (which we're trying to get off of) still had a development team instead of 4 monkeys on crack. Was such an awesome game, but there's nothing left to do because the skeleton crew of developers can only produce a few (bad) zones a year. Which takes us like a month to finish. If we're slow.

While I've never (and will never) play WoW, nice to see others that prefer playing the good aligned. I'll never understand the fascination with playing evil.

*sigh* I really need to find a new MMO. Playing Witcher 2 on Dark Mode just to pass the time. The combat is about as enthralling as Dragon Age 2's story.

This has probably already come up here but on holdtheline.com Chris Priestly asked people what they are expecting and what people are wanting from the EC, I'd recommend leaving a comment as it seems to be the only communication that Bioware has done since release (besides vague twitter nonsense)

http://www.holdtheli...ended-cut.1672/

Other post about this on BSN including confirmation of authenticity: http://social.biowar.../index/11982173

Quick questions; If you import a Shep from ME2 who hasn't done the Arrival DLC, Hacket apparently sends in a group of Red-Shirts to do it instead (even though Mac Walters still says Shep does it despite the ME3 codex entry).

Anyway.... What changes are there if you import a Shep from ME2 who hasn't done the LotSB DLC?

Shepard doesn't know Liara is the Shadow Broker.
Feron dies.
Liara hires mercs who screw it up pretty badly, but she still becomes the broker.

Those are what i remember

Honestly, before Cataclysm, where Garrosh took over the Horde, and Sylvanas went crazy, the Horde was in no way evil. The Alliance was way worse. You always talk about how you dont like the Chantry and Circle Towers in Dragon Age, and the Alliance Orcish Internment Camps were basically just the same thing, but for Orcs instead of mages.

The Blood Elves left the Alliance when they were forced to try and accomplish a task set by the racist human Lord Garithos, and the mission was basically him trying to get the Elves killed. The Elves accepted the help of the naga to accomplish their task, and were all sentenced to death. They made an alliance with the naga and Illidan to escape. The Alliance basically forced the Blood Elves to ally with demons the same way the quarians forced the geth to ally with the Reapers.

I like the Alliance, dont get me wrong, but honestly, they're not the embodiment of good. The Horde is at least as good, if not more good, than the Alliance.

Of course Garrosh messesd up with the Horde, but apparently he will be the final boss in MoP. So even now the Horde still seems more "honorable" than the Alliance.

FOR THE HORDE!!!

Wait, we get to kill Garrosh? Oh man, finally!

What about Varian? Can we kill him too?

If they're both dead, everything will be right with the world (of Warcraft)

Note the part where I said I've never played WoW? That kind of implies I'm not into WoW lore and am commenting on the more general terms like "paladin". Hope that whole "reading" dealie isn't a big thing for lawyers.

I "don't know nothing" about a game I've never played? The hell you say!

P.S. That was sarcasm. I'd think it'd be obvious but I also thought "I've never played WoW" meaning "I'm not big on WoW's story" would be obvious too.

This.

Shepard is the symbol of the resistance. The Krogan, Turians, Asari, Quarians, Geth, etc. are following him, not Hackett or Anderson. Turning him into a Reaper pawn is a solid kick in the balls to the entire resistance. Without Shepard uniting the galaxy through his force of will alone, the resistance fractures and becomes that much easier to defeat. Not to mention that Harbinger has long been intent (through ME2) of at the very least keeping Shepards body.
