Ooooh... is boom-time...
Also, was listening to the cut Anderson dialogue (why can I not find the broshep version? D: ) and noticed a few interesting things.
One, the obvious lie that Anderson never had a family, because he does in fact have a wife and son, and more interestingly, Shepard claiming she's "a soldier" whom could never settle down. Hmmm, sounds kind of like;
"Whom will you listen to Shepard? An old soldier past his prime, only able to see life down the barrel of a gun?"
No? Perhaps it's Shep's subconcious desire to retire and rest, seeing himself as being "past his prime."
That and Shepard seeking absolution, forgiveness for his sins before he can go on, free of emotional baggage and guilt weighing him down, making him easier to indoctrinate, with the illusory Anderson acting as a proxy, capable of exonerating him in his own mind.
That settles it then.... it was an illusion. Bioware must have intended Indoctrination. That cut out scene proves it since we know that Anderson had a family or rather HAS A FAMILY

It makes sense too, because if they had kept that cut scene in there they would have given it away. Some people are going to say that it was taken out because they decided not to go with it, but we all know that isn't what happened. You don't make a scene like that without a special kind of intent and just throw away the concept.
