I always liked the idea that you always resist indoctrination, but if you pick control or synthesis then Shepard will die in the end, however the indoctrination will give Shepard the nesassery info to close the relays down from the citadel giving you a big last minuet boost to your EMS as you divide the reaper forces, making your chances of victory (and the degree of that victory, if your victorious at all) higher, so resist IT and Shep lives but victory is harder, succumb and Shep dies but it's easier to achieve a better result for the galaxy.

I've got quite a detailed plan on how I would follow on from IT, was thinking of making it into a post, but with the reception of IT at the moment think I'll hold off, and another 'here's my ending!' thread probably won't help anyone.

@ Garrus.

I where my headphones at considerable volume levels, like I said they happened for me in the crew deck in the hallway beside the elevator. Run back and forth and take a really good listen, I was genuinely startled when I first hear them; thought I was having acid flashbacks... Maybe I was...

.... never mind.
(but seriously, my ending is very different, but it's not needed)

Edit: and it's no where near as well fleshed out as that one.

That's courtesy of the infamous Arian Dynas. You read it? Damned good effort by him

I havent played ME2 in awhile so sorry about that.

And yes, I do agree that is also a hallucination, obviously. I was just looking at it in another way from a more OOC point of view. Just reading about what the Devs did about neutrality, and pretty much kicking it to the curb in ME3. All I said was just a different view point. I still believe it is just a trick into being a husk and releasing skittle goo throughout the galaxy.

Honestly, when I first played it I was gunning for the neutral option since I already knew that my Shep wouldnt want control or destruction. I went for green since it seemed the least destructive thing. And then when  came on here, I thought about it more. I literally just raped everyone in the galaxy.

I am pretty sure the EC is just going to show the IT is true in a way. The silouhettes just prove it the most before you reach the ending, comics read or not.

No need to apologize ;), there is a lot of people here who are far better informed than me. It just happened that I've played ME2 recently ...
You're not the only one who chose synthesis, I think personally that most of the player did and I belong to them (didn't know that there was an autopilot for Shep beyond a certain point, but I'd certainly have chosen it anyway). And yes, there is too much hints in-game to exclude the IT. We'll see this sommer.

There is no Indoctrination Theory. It isn't even a hypothesis. It's just speculation, quite plausible, but speculation nonetheless.

Spent the later parts of my Saturday evening cranking through the Horizon mission, and I found it really interesting how much the mission wants you to take home the fact that The Illusive Man became fascinated with indoctrination. The game never really offers an explicit answer as to why, really, outside of our own conjecture that it's geared towards safeguarding humanity from something most can't defend themselves against.

So what are the odds that the EC is going to confirm IT, really? I say just about nil. Probably the best we can hope for is that it won't flatly disprove it.

Regardless of IT, I don't want the EC to glorify any choice other than Destroy. I have a feeling that I'm going to be very disappointed. Because they're going to try to sell us on how wonderful Biological Violation (Synthesis) and Status Quo (Control) are. You just know it's true.

Oh, you could pose a very clear and convincing hypothesis out of the Indoctrination Theory, and back it up with heavily-indicative circumstancial evidence.

Just wanting to drop a link to this thread ("Strange noises inside Normandy") here. It's REALLY informative, yet creepy. Some substantial IT discussion going on; it's really interesting.

Where I haven`t heard these I am not saying its not true but I don`t hear them

I just spend 5 minutes on max volume standing on various spots from the men's bathroom wall and the way leading to Liara's office.

I only heard coughing, two variations of party laughter, various ship functionality beeping including a high pitched synth sound, though it came the nearest to a short scream, but still nothing I'd resemble to a human scream.

Look up the definition of theory, hypothesis, etc. Yes. IT is not fact. Not by a long shot. But it is a theory.

Curious... after any particular mission?

Also, has ME3 had any origin updates lately? I'm contemplating the idea that new sound files may have been added since I first ripped mine in late march...

To be honest, I never really focused my hope that much on the EC.
At the end of the day, the really important thing to me is that on the day when the last DLC for ME3 comes out, I will know, what 'gift' Liara gave me and where Garrus will try to drink my Shepard under the table
and that last shot of Shepard. This to me will be the ending for the
trilogy, the moment I will be finally able to close the book.
Whether it comes from the EC or not, I don't really care.

The
"embrace eternity"  with Liara was one of the most beautiful moments of
the game. But I really don't want to know what it exactly was, just in
this case I leave it to my own imagination
 [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]
I'd add the goodbye of Grunt ("thanks for getting me out of the tank" tht's so him).

A scene with Garrus and Shep drinking a cocktail on a beach with a dead
Reaper in the backgroud would be nice. I'm more interested (besides IT
proven true or not) in cutscenes of your War assets, what became of the
Rachni queen and especially the purpose of the Crucible. I can't rest
till I know what it really was...

Why do I get the odd feeling that it'll end up having something to do with Shepard being able to survive indoctrination?

Outside of this thread, the bottomless-pit-level of retardation dealing with I.T. semantics is something to marvel at.

^All of those things are part of the background sound for the entire ship, which, by the by, contains a butt-ton of infrasonic noise for no discernable reason.

If anyone else is looking for interesting sounds, get this:

Hahah! Did you watch the videos people linked with the background noises in the dreams, and the kid laughing, then the reaper-version of his laugh!? That was LITERALLY the creepiest thing I have ever heard.

I already watched that...so... no need to creep myself out any further right now...
it's all fine if you watch it in broad daylight but I once listened to that Reaper laugh at night.. never again.:alien:
