When catalyst says wake up i can hear talis voice saying wake up behind it.

Play any of the conversations with the "Catalyst", turn volume up and hold the right headphone to your ear. It's easy to hear on some parts... but I also have a good headset.

Watching these 2 variations of the destroy ending, I wondered, why on Earth would the red magic do something else depending on your war assets. Low EMS : Earth destroyed, people turn into ashes. High EMS : "Yay" soldiers

Even if this is the final ending you have to give it to Bioware for making it so damn confusing with so many references that we made a novel about it in less than a week on a thread.

If so BioWare is not ready to say the final ... I know friends are reselling the game.

4 of my friends went back to gamestop and sold it. 2 of them were pretty angry.

Ugh... what am I listening to? Doesn't he say that in the game? 

He does say it in game, but listening close you can hear male and female shepard's voices behind the kid's. Why would he speak with the voices behind him unless shep was having some kind of hallucination / dream?

Well my theory was this:

PC requires an Internet Connection. If the true ending, assuming there is one, was to be released at a certain data/time, I'm sure it would need to double check that it was sync'd with Internet Time.

Since Xbox 360 and PS3 do not need to be connected to the internet to play I assumed that it didn't matter because you couldn't change date/time anyway.

However, you can change the date and time (which should have been obvious to me), so my theory is invalid.

I've also seen a lot of ppl mention Vega and the humming. Can anybody post a video or audio clip, or at the very least what Vega actually SAYS.

I could never have sold Mass Effect, I'm still pissed and upset, but the thought  never occured to me.

Starting to think everyone with the "wake up" line should maybe check with a computer program or something and see how many voices can be distinguished behind it. Since someone suggested they heard Tali's.

As I play through some of ME3 with this ending in mind it seems like there are hints of it everywhere. Maybe it's just wanting to find things, but I'm almost positive this is the new ending.

Anyone remember the mind-blowing ending of KOTOR?

RE: The Player indoctrination Theory of the OP. Sort of rambling on, but here we go:

Indoctrination is suppose to dominate one's free will. Both Saren and TIM were shown to have very powerful wills, enough to resist the indoctrination process for a time, but ultimately succumb. 
Shepard is different though, Shepard actually has NO free will. Shepard is *our* avatar, his will is our will. Bioware could write up a whole bunch of different stuff to do to Shepard to convey Reapers attempts at indoctrinating him, but Reaper indoctrination simply does not work for Shepard because ultimately Shepard will is bound to the whims of the player.

Thus, with the "crucible" being a test, indoctrination being the domination of one's free will, and with the players being the source of Shepard's "free" will, it makes sense to me that the Reaper God Child's sudden appearence serves as a test of wills, the Reapers versus the Player. Shepard appears to be on the cusp of entering the Citadel and defeating the Reapers when he is hit with a laser. Could it be that this attempt at indoctrinating Shepard/The Player serves as the Reapers last gasp at avoiding their own extinction? At this point, the only real thing that could prevent Shepard from not destroying the Reapers is, well, you. So, like the Player Indoctrination Theory states, these last few minutes of the game perhaps serve as a way for the player to expierence just what it is like to come under the influence of indoctrination. That Shepard only "wakes up" in the destroy ending seems very telling right there, to me. 

Yeah, it's a huge stretch, but what the hell, it makes more sense than taking the endings at face value, imo.

this is what i thought, after the illusive man. and he gets carried up to the top by the floor. it seemed like it was all dreamed up. Also the choices dont seem logical, destroy a tube makes the cruible destroy the reapears? or holding onto the conduits control the reapers, and sacfricing yourself unites them. It seems like metaphors more than weapon/device triggers.
