Someone just messaged me a post from Twitter, and requested I place it here for people to see.

As the last people to post on the forum I thought you could update with this link to twitter:

https://twitter.com/...506162394333184

Illusive comments are illusive!

I've not seen it on the forum yet.

It's... suggestive, but like the rest, not decisive.
Either Bioware has something up their sleeve, or they are just toying with us.

And just listen to the KID about TIM: "He can't control US cause WE all ready controlling him"
Is this a slippery tongue from the Reaper?! :)

I haven't read through all ~300 pages but I have a question regarding the hallucination theory. If it has been answered already, sorry for the repeat but I would appreciate an anwer.

Assuming the hallucination is happening...Shepard gets hit by the beam and crumbles and the indoctrination starts. I would think he/she never left Earth but is laying in a field of rubble while his/her mind is travelling through Harbinger-LaLaLand.

If indoctrination fails it seems as if the Crucible does its job and reapers are defeated. Cut to breathing scene and body laying underneath the rubble.

If indoctrination succeeds....how would that change anything? Shepard's still on Earth...there is no way he/she can push any buttons to change the outcome. Or is the Crucible mentally controlled and Shepard just choosing solution A or B would trigger the other outcomes?

I don't believe that Shepard has been teleported to the Citadel or anything...it wouldn't make sense as that would mean that the reapers or the AI god-child would be nice enough to teleport him/her back if he/she chooses the destruction option.....and I wouldn't think that they would even bother.

I kind of like the indoctrination/hallucination scenario as it does make sense but the above mentioned point is something I can't wrap my head around.

So....any suggestions?

If we assume that Harbinger succeeds indoctrinating Shepard(via Snythesis and Control options),  the natural outcome would be Reapers succeeding and the cycle goes on.

I think it would be much much better if this is the case. Assuming ending we have right now is the real one, all options lead to a kinda good outcome. Yet, if indoctrination theor holds, Synthesis and Control options will likely mean that all organic life is doomed once again.

I love the thought of having a bad ending like this. Only thing bothers me that the supposedly good ending destroy is the easiest one to achieve. I can't come up with anything about this. Maybe nice sirs of this topic might have something to say about this.

Wow, in order to prove a point, do you have to be a jackass around here? When I started reading this thread a few days ago the OP on the first page was just a paragraph or two stating his theory. Only now have I revisited it and seen that he has gathered the theories of everybody here. I have read it and I do admit that there are a lot of interesting theories. If Bioware does turn out to have made Shephard go through indoctrination, with the dreams and radio at the end (saying nobody made it to the beam) foreshadowing, then they made a really genious ending that not many other games have even attempted.

That said, Ithere is a possibility that everything is just there by chance and they slapped an ending on in a rush. Why is it that when someone inserts a theory that is not popular with people like you it gets slapped down?

Yes, but there is one thing that makes me confused. When you talk to the prothean VI on Tessia it doesn't recognize Shepard as indoctrinated one but Kai Leng. It says "presence of indoctrinated", or something like that, when Kai Leng shows up. Don't you think it would recognize Shepard as a threat as well?

Vigil on Ilos said that protheans couldnt recognize indocrination. The could tell that you are indocrinated but it was too late and you were fully indocrinated. Shepard can be still in process.

Yes, but Vigil also said: The indoctrinated one passed not long ago. You are not indoctrinated and that means there is still hope.
Quote is not perfect, but I played it two weeks ago and I remember such dialoque. That's why this theory makes me confused. I mean I agree that the Reapers tryed to get into Shep's mind, that kid is walking proof that they could read her mind.
Hmmm... I have to think about this.

Lets not forget that Bioware told us before in a interview. "It Is possible to loose to the Reapers"

Those Options there are now if they are the real ending. In none of them we loose to them. None of them no matter how bad you are.

Something is amiss

Who says it isn't both?

Doesn't anyone find it ironic that they were dead silent before this theory came along? Now they're opening up with cryptic tweets.. we've nailed it.

The people who don't believe that BioWare is capable of this are just determined to hate BioWare.

Um, guys, has anyone else noticed that in some cases there is only ONE choise?? At the end, the godchild ONLY gives shep one option... the destroy one.
look at this vid:www.youtube.com/watch

When and why does this happen?? I had all the three choices explained to me + the whole "most of your technology will be destroyed", while this Shep + other vids i found only have the one.. What the hell`?

I think that it's a mental form of MAD for the Reapers.  Your forces will be destroyed, but YOU, Shepard, are still going to be a pain in the behind until the end, you did not give them enough time to fully infiltrate your mind, but you still brought a mean force to the party for them to fight.  If you live, you may force them to go through this again if you're good enough next time... and they DO NOT want a next time.

So, you win, but because they're still all-powerful, they fry your mind with indoctrination overload... which is why you SEE everyone dying from the blast in low EMS modes.

TBH I've literally just reached the point where I'm through with it. One too many cryptic tweets from @masseffect for my tastes.

Being clever with their ending is one thing and I supported the idea and engaged with it fully right here in this thread.

Superiority and cryptic headgames are a great way to lose an audience.

I've lost all motivation to replay the game and if they announced the real ending was available today I'm not sure I could bring myself to engage with it.

It's like losing a friend but I just don't care any more.

not sure on this but, wasnt it the case that indoctrination could happen very fast if a reaper wanted it, with as a side effect that the indoctrinated didnt last as long (only lasting days before dieing rather then months or years as would be the case with slow indoctrination) its mentioned somewhere in ME2 i believe (played it a few days ago but cant remember where)

Biggest point here is the context of the wording... indoctrinatED.  Shepard has NOT been indoctrinatED yet, he is slowly, VERY slowly, undergoing the process.  Since realising this human could bring the people of the galaxy together under a banner to KILL a Reaper, they realise if they want to break the will to fight, they need to break this human, and they would not succeed with a fast attempt, Shepard would just fight it out and they would lose a pivotal pawn.

But slow and steady... well, we all knows who wins the race right? Posted Image

Christ, he's been having weird visions the ENTIRE game!

If Mordin dies, you hear whispers of his voice in a dream.

When Legion dies, you hear whispers of his voice in a dream.

The Reapers are playing off all of the things that makes Shepard weak willed. It's very clear what's going on throughout the game!

I'm so in love with this theory. I've been following the thread ever since it was just a few pages long and my head has probably exploded over 20 times already due to the sheer epicness of all the little pieces that have put this hallucination/indoctrination theory together. Everything that I've read up to this point makes so much sense that I'm seriously starting to doubt that we're wrong with this. :o

Keep up the good work everyone!

I really see two ways that this could go assuming they give us some sort of new ending. If they don't well... this is pretty pointless.

But if they do, I feel they were either planning it, in which case it really must be the indoctrination/ hallucination theory as the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

Otherwise someone really made a massive misjudgement on the endings in which case I think it will be the forth 'ignore the child' ending where you have to just hope like Hell that you have enough War assets. I really can't see them to have been planning just adding an extra option or two at the end from the beginning.

But, while this may be my own delirious hope talking, I am just slightly inclined to go with pre-planned indoctrination (or if they really did mess up but really really love their fans they will re-write it like this) simply because of all the evidence in this thread.

It makes sense for it to be a dream/ hallucination. It makes sense using the kid she couldn't save as the reaper front. It makes sense that in her addled brain she would imagine her crew (miraculously aboard the ship) escaping and landing on a paradise world.

It also makes sense (from a not making sense without the extra part of the game) as to why there was no final boss. ME 1 it was Saren/ Sovereign. ME 2 Human Reaper baby. ME 3... nothing?

And as many have pointed out, why put Harbinger, the Reaper seemingly obsessed with Shepard in for about 10 seconds before it 'runs away'.

It really does feel that its all working up to something bigger. But I also can't believe it until someone from Bioware tells me!

the problem is we dont know what very fast is in this case what if very fast means minutes, then we could have be blasted by the laser and then get indoctrinated on the spot, causing the hallucination we experience as the reaper tries to break our will

Hmmm.

This is in response to someone who had "Mixed feelings" about the ending. Could just be talking about EMS, or suggesting that the game may be patched/DLC'd later

BioWare dropping cryptic hints the moment we start catching onto this theory?

Seriously. They were silent before.
