I just noticed this right now...don't know if anyone's mentioned this already or if it's been explained, but I thought I'd bring it up.

So you know that oddly colorful rubble that's littered around the Makos near the beam?

Posted Image

Yeah, that crap looks weird. PC, I'm ashamed of you and those textures.

...hey, wait a minute.

Posted Image

Are those BODIES?

Yes. As you can clearly see, there are faces, torsos, and legs in that pile of low-res polygons. Now, why it's so low-res I don't know; that might really be an issue with my computer. But I've never had this level of terrible with any other texture in the game...and you have to admit, seeing it so blurry and awful-looking lends it a very eerie quality.

Besides that, why are there SO MANY? There were absolutely not that many people running for the beam. And even if there were, how did they all end up in neat little piles off to the sides? And, most importantly...

Take a closer look at the bodies pink and purple circles. Look familiar?

Made before the ending, so that would imply that the ending is just something that stargazer made up.

It's all speculations but I think if you choose the other two options you will get some sort of cgi which wraps up the story, the story ends there for them. If you choose destroy, however, you can continue to fight.

If you choose destroy and this is not indoctrination, techically Shepard should die instead of wake up, as even the Catalyst admit he's partly synthetic.

Actually to be fair you can have all the synthetics removed at the Med Station.

I don't know if this has already been raised but I'm going to mention it anyway.
The 2 endings where Shep dies would make it impossible for DLC to make any logical sense involving Shepard as he is dead unless of course this was a figment of imagination too...
Which then means the only way you can play the DLC is if you chose to "destroy" which leaves a huge gap in the thousands of players who did not chose this option.
So for me the idea of follow on content is very unlikely.
Rather it just seems the writers didn't do a very good job of wrapping things up.

We are asking for diversified ending here, we want our choices to affect the endings, if we complain about different choices getting different treatment then we're no better than a bunch of hypocrites who don't know what we really want

You just unlocked the secret to the BSNverse.  Congrats.

No big deal for thsoe who chose others. Games leaves a save before the choice. SO just choose the other to continue your shep in the hoepfull "GOOD END (or rather ANY END THAT MAKES SENSE)"  DLC.

Or, you know, Liara sent out the time capsules before they reached Earth, leaving it incomplete, thus "some parts of the story were lost".

Regarding the stargazer point. I still think that it can be real and still support indoctrination theory...

I assumed that one of Liara's time capsules made it to a pre spaceflight world sometime in the future, and the information in the device became "the legend of the Shepherd". After all, Liara did say that their would be an entry in it specific to you and your galactic adventures.

I know... it's just an assumption, but it makes sense right?

Right.  However, you have to admit that when it is played out after every ending, if the endings are final moments determining Shepard's indoctrination, then how are there humans speaking when they would be all killed in 3 of the 4 endings?

Yes, I know the solution to make it clear where it is relevent if this theory is correct, but that's how things look on the other side of the fence.

Perhaps more importantly, Stargazer can happen even if the current endings are hallucinations. It occurs after the credits (and after Shepard Lives, in point in fact), so ostensibly lots could have happened between those two points without mucking up continuity. Too, it's not like Stargazer says "and then Shepard died and her LI lived the rest of his days sniping the leaves off jungle trees." (Oh, Garrus.)

I thought that upgrade only removed scarring. Doesn't mean it removed the synthetics.

You can remove scars, not implants in your bones and organs and other vital stuff. And if you're paragon you can look good even without medical station

In addition to the whole Shep having synthetics thing, it's not ridiculous to say that he could survive for a time even if his synthetic implants were to fail.

Unless this is there attempt to introduce the ME4 (assuming it isn't a MMO) main character.
If you choose to destroy you continue as shepard, if you choose the other two it is up to this new person to finish your job for you.

It might be a bad way to kill off a main character, but after playing SWTOR they seem to have no problem with doing so in a anticlimatic manner.

They did something similar to this in Dragon Age: Awakening, if you survived the attack you were alive in the expansion, if not you create a new character.

Not merit to this what soever just bored.

If you used the medical option Dr. Chakwas says something about it creating a layer over your skin in ME3.

Possibly they were left alone because they were in another star system that wasn't linked to a mass relay, thus they don't have space flight (he does say they don't have) so they were left alone because they weren't advanced enough?

I just re-played the last mission so my little brother could watch it live. (he missed it the first time I did it, but he has watched me play ME2 and 3 entirely, and he's 11 if that matters?)
I chose to destroy the reapers, got the "perfect" ending where Shepard is seen covered by rubble.

What does he tell me after watching all that? "Oh, I think it's all real, it's only missing the part where joker picks shepard up and they try escape the relay explosion, he probably ran out of medi-gel and is in the med-lab recovering that's why he doesn't come out when they land and his companions look happy"
Then right at the beginning of the Stargazer scene, he says "Oh look, they (stargazer and kid) are on the same planet the Normandy landed on, see the two planets on the sky?

I think I read every page on this thread and didn't see anything like this.

Occam's razor, anyone?

Actually, the reason those are there is because the Reapers are using London to harvest human bodies, so all of those are just waiting to be tossed into the beam to be sent to the Citadel.

Also... how does the catalyst know that Shep is part synthetic?

I don't think that's explained either. X-ray vision?
