Just thought I'd point that out since it has been bugging me for a while now.

Well the wake up scene happens after the Normandy crash scene. It could still mean you're waking up from a dream/illusion.

I think part of me wants it so badly because the ending is so atypical of Bioware (DA2 notwithstanding though just my opinion) and from the limited communications from Twitter hinting at 'interpretations'.

At first I assumed that meant we are totake the endings as shown, but then interpret that things don't really turn out as bad as it seems for the galaxy at large, or even the Normandy crew.

However it occurred to me either dream or indoctrination attempt does count as 'interpretation'.

Considering how angrily I've responded, it seems weird to feel that I'm really hoping I've been punked.

i think we're all feeling that way.

Here those sounds at &;30 onward? His ears are ringing and he's defeaned. I know what an explosion is like. You can't hear anything but the ringing. You can hear his hearing coming back around 7:40.

Yeah, He never left Earth. Him being under the rubble is caused by being blasted from Harbinger's Lazor (before screen fades to white)

No. The point is the sounds at 7:30. Shepard's hearing is deafened by the explosion. I know what an explosion is like, I've been near one. You can't hear anything but the rining. You can hear screaching type sounds. Who's to say the whole game isn't him unconcious and fighting indoctrination?

The Earth had just been covered in Reapers, I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case.

Since the reapers already control TIM and he seems to be controlling you in TIM/Anderson conversation, wouldn't that mean the reapers actually forced you to shoot Anderson? Or at least that they wanted you to do that. Like they didn't want you to be influenced by him. So they wanted him dead.

Idk I think that's proof right there. The reapers definitely control TIM and it's implied he control you and Anderson even if it was only for a moment. Sorry if it's been mentioned before though, hard keeping up with this haha.

Yeah - like Anderson is an anchor point for Sheps mental state. Something pulling him back. Makes sense they want you to think he's out of the picture.

The crew is on a world without technology.. they will not be harvested, but the relays are gone so you can forget about them as you will never see them again..  It makes a point to favor Love interest in the crew that gets off the ship. 

Break his connection to his crew... another anchor for Sheps mental state... 

People who are really immersed in the game should "feel" what that would do... some fans have had some difficulties with  mental state over this.. 

Shepard beliving he has nothing to live for and all...  That will crack a hard nut.

Might be. Looks like it. But it might have just been easier to give you a standard pistol to get the story moving along (ie not have to worry about giving you the weapon you equipped in the end and have that ****ed with the graphics of everything else or the mood etc.)

I see a clipping of it in many of those indoctrination theory follower threads. If that's official artwork, it's very significant. Look closely at Saren's eye. There's two small orbs on the bottom left and right, just like TIM's. And just like Shepard's in either the control or synthesis ending. If Saren's eyes had similar markings at some point, that all but confirms it as a mark of an important indoctrinated agent.
