WARNING, A LOT of wild speculations are about to follow:

I really don't want to get my hopes up too high, it could really be just bad writing, in which case, the fleet should probably mobilize. However, if this really was the plan all along, Bioware may have pulled off the most incredible stunt in gaming history.

I don't know if this was discussed.

I had never thought of that. Does anyone have any pictures from Jacobs loyalty mission to make a comparison?

2175 Aeia. Yep, two moons. Useless food. Really hope they didn't crash there, if crash they did :(

If you're gonna say that, then why can't it be Aite, where Project Overlord was?  Even down to the overlapping moons.

Interesting... very, very interesting.

I'm a little rusty on Aite's environment though. I briefly remember large open areas, however it could just be a different part of Aite that has more plant life.

This is assuming that they did crash on the planet in Jacobs loyalty mission or Aite (from Project Overlord)

Jacob's mission, stop at 0:01 notice the two moons.

Ending, stop at 23:43, also notice the two moons.

Vegetations are also quite similar.

Well, Javik would probably get himself killed, and then Joke could declare himself king.

We have to remeber that a lot of planets in the MEverse have 2+ moons.

Let's not read too much into this.

Question, i couldn't find in the OP laying out the theory background:

Why are the letters assumed to be 1m1? The flags on the alleged "ones" are facing the wrong way. But, if you look at it from the other side, it might be JWJ - not that I know what that means either. What is 1m1 supposed to represent?

Jack's loyalty mission was to the horrible planet of Pragia, where mutated planets will probably hold you down and.... eat you.

On these forums it represents...

1 + M + 1 = 15

or

1 + 13 + 1 = 15

M = 13th letter in the alphabet

March 15th is when the game is released in Japan

Edit: This theory has been dismissed btw. It's intriguing, but most likely nothing.

Aeia, in codex, is described as a garden world...

Thus two conclusion
a. Through space magic, our friends (only three tho, only three) got blasted into this garden world.
I mean u stop in the middle of the mass relay transport and stranded in the middle of space with zero gravity but we can disregard all that.
OR
b. It is a wishful thinking and hoping for Shepard for his two favorite squaddie (and one he/she loves) to find a garden world, escaping from all this chaos and deaths...

I will take the latter

This gives me goosebumps, for some reason. Overlord would imply a virtual world.

Definitely this. The other thing that always bugs me is that certain environments are declared "no-way!" because they don't match what little of any particular planet that we've seen. With all those planets, there's no way that Earth is the only one with such varied terrain, flora, et al.

I think saying m1m = March 15th is reach, buuuuuut... if we do go there, "Beware the Ides of March." Isn't that day supposed cursed for great military leaders? Like Shepard would be?

Heh. Yeah. At this point, I think they're just random meant-to-be-alien-looking symbols that we're squinting at too much.

(Still think Shep's been the Catalyst all along.)

I really appreciate all the work that the fans have put into this thread and the analysis, but seriously the issue here is not wit or cunning, it's simply bad writing.

The writers in ME wrote themselves in the wall because the Reapers were written to be way too powerful and they couldn't think of a decent way of ending the story because they never established any sort of weaknesses in the antagonists. They had to create a deus ex machina and try to be "clever" and not just make it a big gun. No matter how hard you try, this formula creates disastrous endings to stories.

All this speculation is actually doing more harm then good because Bioware are going to start believing that they did a good job. In reality, we should be doing what anyone who can think for themselves should do and that's call them on their BS.

Oooh, just noticed something!  It seems to me that if you flip that picture on it's right side, those things sticking up in the background look just like those structures that surround the beam...the bare arm being pulled up from the rubble could be Shepard's.

yeah.  The setting and shep's arm seems clear.  Now, whose armored arm is pulling him out? :)
