Only time will tell. Here's hoping that it isn't the latter.FaolonSD wrote...
The question is:
Is it really a hallucination or is everyone just convincing themselves of that so they don't have to face reality?
You don't want Bioware to have given you the worst game ending they could have gone with, so you want to believe that there's more, that they didn't simply mess up.

The more I think about it, the more I'm afraid that Biowares explanation for Shepard beeing alive on Earth will be: "Well, the fancy Space Magic Explosion trow him straight into the beam back to London!"

If this is the truth, not saying it is, just thinking out loud here, imagine this:
By April or May I suspect many people would burnt their copies of ME3 and uninstalled it from their PC, and then the only thing that'll allow them to play ME3 again is gonna be Origin...

If this really is their plan, would the reason for requiring Origin in order to play ME3 be to track the ratio of completed games so that Bioware would know when it would be the right time to do their big reveal? Maybe Bioware planned this all from the beginning, and had to require Origin in order to keep track of how many people have finished the game so that Bioware would know when to release the actual conclusion. And they'd know how many times each of the three choices was selected, so they would know how successful their indoctrination was.wookieboy15 wrote...

Using the ending of the game as real-time player-experienced indoctrination.
Imagine if you will that in 2 months, Bioware releases a free bit of DLC (which they already have ready for release and have been planning this way all along) in which all of this is revealed. The special Shepard breathing sequence that we've seen would thus be a teaser.
This would probably go down as one of the greatest game mechanic mind-f*cks of all time, right up there with that MGS controller switch thing back in the day. It would be epic, and its in line with what Bioware have been tweeting that "If people knew what was in the pipeline, the reactions would be very different".
Juuust saying.
Agreed, it would literally go down as one of the most compelling game stories ever written.

Right. There'd be 'some' protest there. And Bioware would risk seriously pissing off part of its fanbase, no matter what they have planned, if they keep quiet like this for much longer. They have to react in the next few days, unless they want to risk serious consequences. They've already alienated a good bunch of people and it can only get worse from here on out. They better clear this up soon.

Also, I'm not sure that sounds legit. Wishful thinking says yes, but it sounds just that little bit exaggerated, so I think it's just trolling.

If they pull it off, real-time player indoctrination and then surprise all of us with a new conclusion, RuffHouse798 is right; it'll go down in history as the most daring piece of interactive art ever made, taking what video games can be to a level of interactivity between player and developer that no one had thought possible.
This is a huge risk, something that only an event like ME3 would give anyone an opportunity to do, and if Bioware can pull it off... I'll take back every piece of skepticism and criticism I've leveled at them these last couple of days, and instead I'll get up in front of my monitor and give them a standing ovation.
