Still could be just an "Awesome" Omega dlc or something...
They could believe that by making the game better, people would forget the ending.
The problem is, tha game is already brilliant.
God I hope I'm so wrong...
I don't think they do. At this point, if any devs are following this thread, they know that, after playing coy for so long and hinting like that, they are at risk of further alienating their fans, if they now start announcing 'awesome' DLC that has nothing to do with the ending whatsoever. Everything they actually said pointed towards something big coming and us not knowing everything, so our reactions would be much different if we knew what was in store. I don't think Bioware, of all companies, could be so blind that they'd think the announcement of Mass Effect 4 to clear it all up or a DLC to be released in a couple of months would appease us. They know their fans, or so I hope.
If it really is Omega DLC then I would be incredibly pissed off. Seriously any DLC that would take place before the ending are 100% worthless if the current ending stays. Why bother helping Aria take back Omega when she's just going to die of starvation a few weeks down the line when Omega runs out of food and they have nowhere to go and no natural resources to use.

This theory is absolutely ridiculous. I can't believe that people think it's acceptable to ship a game with fake endings, and then release the "real" end via DLC. That would set a very bad precedent... and destroy Bioware's credibility. The game you paid for is incomplete so cough up more cash to finish it, unless you expect it free of charge. Unlkely to say the least. The concept of paying for real endings actually sickens me.
The only hallucinations happening here are the theorist's own. Denial. Plain and simple.
The ending as it is now sickens me far more.

Definitely. So rumours are flocking around about how the next consoles won't play used games etc, they've been trying to find a way to stop losing money on used game sales.
If everygame you play - has the chance of having a totally redifing ending released a few months later - would you hang on to it to give it another whirl?

I think they're past that - or very much happy to gamble with customers happiness - it could also be why we have an Origin requirement for ME3.
The console version has 6gb larger (I've heard)..so console players may not need to download it....
Either way - if there is another ending on the way - its the biggest / boldest thing any game company has ever done.
Well you're certainly free to believe that upsetting an already upset, previously loyal fan base will make 'em fans again.

But you think shipping a game with a horrible written ending full of plotholes that makes no sense is perfectly acceptable and would not affect Bioware's credibility? Your statement does absolutely Nothing to discredit this theory, it only states your unhappy about it. Its not untrue just cos you dont like it.

If this was to happen the market would adjust quickly IMO. As in a lot of people would just not play games from companies that would have a history of pulling this. If this kind of thing became regular, then I would stop buying most games.

Director and executive producer Casey Hudson explained that a "polarising" finale was necessary to get fans talking.
Meanwhile a fan petition to change the game's endings has already raised over $28,000 (about £18,000) for charity.
The Retake Mass Effect fan campaign has been appealing for funds to get the movement taken seriously by BioWare; money which it will then donate to gaming charity Child's Play.
"We would like to dispel the perception that we are angry or entitled," the campaign's mission statement reads. "We simply wish to express our hope that there could be a different direction for a series we have all grown to love."
But Hudson failed to suggest that the trilogy's finale may be changed through a patch or DLC, as Retake Mass Effect campaigners hope.
"I didn't want the game to be forgettable," Hudson told Digital Trends. "Even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people - debating what the endings mean and what's going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in."
"That to me is part of what's exciting about this story. There has always been a little bit of mystery there and a little bit of interpretation, and it's a story that people can talk about after the fact."
More single-player content is coming however, and Hudson said that, like other Mass Effect DLC, fan feedback will help shape its design.
"We have some really great multiplayer content and some really great single-player content coming over the air and their feedback will become part of how we design that," Hudson added.
BioWare also hopes fans are starting to see "common sense" over the controversial day-one DLC pack From Ashes, which includes a major slice of series lore.
"I think a lot of the common sense is prevailing," Hudson said. "Initially, it was spun in a direction that suggested that we had taken the lore out of Mass Effect 3 and were holding it inside the DLC only, which now the people who actually have played Mass Effect 3 and the DLC they know that that's not true. So that fear was set aside and, ultimately, I think people get it now."

I actually think Caseys response reinforces a lot of the opinion there is ending DLC on the way.
First, its a total polar opposite of everything he and BioWare said in the leadup to ME3.
Second, he never actually says that its the definitive ending, only that he wanted the endings to engage in debate and get theories going.
..and Third;
"
debating what the endings mean and what's going to happen next, "
'What's' going to happen next. Not 'what might happen next'. Might be nothing - but thats the english language for you.

I'm discrediting the concept of releasing a game with fake endings and using DLC to fix that mess. If you have to pay for it that's even worse. We paid for a complete game, right? Oh, but you need to buy DLC later or it doesn't make sense? That would be outright lying and misrepresenting your product.

all what it confirms that they planned on having an ending that wanted people to discuss the endings for time to come. Which is annoying because in doing so they made a RUBBISH ending in trying to achieve that.
and I have not seen anyone discussing who is going to be in ME4 only trying to defend the ending or trying to make sense of it.
and no offence Casey but its not good writing if you have to force the gamer/reader you name it to try to fill in the huge blanks and try to make sense of the ending eventhough it is not clear in any shape or form.
