Can anyone confirm this?

"As soon as the kid runs away, I turned around and ran from him and guess what happened?

A whisper says "Shepard" in a human voice and the kid cries, forcing my Shepard to turn around.

I turn around again, doing the same thing and guess what happened the second time?

A whisper says "Shepard" in Harbinger's voice, or at least one similar enough to mistake it. This was tested on the dream right after the resolution of the genophage plot-line." "

To adress the problem with the beam Harbinger shoots at Shepard and his folks and killing them in the process... How can we be sure that's the way that Reaper-Beams work? Maybe they just burn away artificial materials like ship-hulls, armour-plating, personal VIs etc. and are in fact some kind of "Harvesting"-Beams for "organic material".

We see with the big beam, that the Reapers can Beam humans. :)

Just a shot in the dark though... ;-)

I thought I heard a whisper say "Shepard" when he/she gets knocked out at the very beginning of the game, as well.

let me ask you this, do you consider yourself a fan of this franchise? why is this bad?
if they don't have a plan in place, then this is considered feedback in form of ideas, the whole board is packed with it. but if they have a plan, this is just an idea how it could work and how they might try to do it. and as far as i can remember, this is how dlc can actually be implemented in a good way. because the whole thing was a hallucination.

A fan of the franchise would compare this muck of an ending to every other endings in the previous series, and see how they're trying to excuse themselves from lazy writing. It's the same reason why they PHOTOSHOPED Tali's face from a stock photo instead of actually developing a good enough interpetation of what is.

They simply got buggered by EA deadlines and decided an open ending would be best because they know no matter how many people see through their bull****, some fan will always create some conspiracy theory to fix it for them, no matter how many plotholes there are in the orignial and how many plotholes there are in the conspiracy theory.

And kudos to them

It's turned out pretty damn well so far.

While I certainly see your argument. There is a difference to discussing a theory and actually playing a real implication of it. Right now this is essentially providing hope for the hopeless to use a bit dramatic definition. Over time people will sour if BioWare just sits back and does nothing. The threats made by the fanbase have far greater ammunition than in the past because of the sheer volume of hatred. When nearly the entirety of your fanbase is angered, you best do everything possible to appease, lest you watch them walk away.

If they make this actual DLC, then I'm content enough to call it a compromise. Would it have been better to have on the disc from the onset? Probably. Is this better than what we have now? Undoubtedly.

Here's the synopsis of MY ending for the game since I refuse to accept the actual bullcrap.

The crucible isn't some superweapon that will destroy the Reapers and the Mass Relays (and thus the entire possibility of galactic civilization). In MY ending the crucible is a weapon that takes advantage of the way the Reapers work and gives merely a temporary reprieve from Reaper invasion. The Reapers, as "smart" as they are, operate on a very simple program. They wait dormant in dark space until they get a signal from the mass relays and the citadel telling them that aliens have taken up residence and have begun with a new galactic civilization. They come out of dormancy and start prepping for invasion an destruction. The complete destruction and they all share a signal of "mission accomplished" and then they all head back to dark space and go dormant. MY crucible spoofs the "mission accomplished" signal and dorks up the Reapers, causing them to assume mission accomplished and they all head back to dark space to go dormant. It is a temp fix and imperfect but buys the galaxy time to try to develop a REAL fix, or to try and prevent future signalling to the Reapers that Mass Relays are being used and that the Citadel is populated. Until then all they can do is use the crucible to keep putting the Reapers to sleep (with occasional leakage with the need to deal with a Reaper or two that gets through the spoofing). The galaxy goes on, the Quarians and Geth go on with developing their homeworld, the Krogan get to have a real future, the Rachni make a peaceful comeback, Shepard gets to have a future with his LI, etc, etc.

There. Make up your own ending, refuse to play THEIR ending, and don't go see the movies should they now be foolish enough to go through with them with the ending as it currently sits.

erm... sorry mate, but its not.

Soliders have a skill called Adrenline rush.

If they apply that effect to the scene, then that explaination would make sense.

i'm just saying it is going too far, symbolism on every corner, they don't have to litter the game with billions of clues.

so let me include heavy breathing while running. i can't remember, but dont they do it when we run outside of that beam scene in the rest of the game? and the run to the beam wasn't really smooth when it comes to sound, right? exploisions everywhere and s h i t going nuts and so on.

I've done that, didn't hear the voices, but heard the "other" voices (ashley, and legion for example). But after I turned around for the 3rd time, the cinematic where you watch your shepard burn played. However, the third time i did this, I decided to just stand still, but the cinematic played regardless.

Not sure if it has been mentioned in the last 400+ pages, maybe you can edit it into the first post, but the VI on Thessia refuses to tell you what the catalyst is. When you question it further, it says "indoctrinated presence detected" and Kai Leng shows up behind you. Naturally, you assume that it is Kai Leng, but what if you are the indoctrinated presence? Why would the VI speak around your questions? VI's are not suppose to think.

The VI only talks to you after the Illusive Man alters the AI and disables the safeguards preventing it from giving information away to indoctrinated subjects, and the VI explicitly says that it's safeguards have been removed. And then it just spits out the information that the catalyst is the Citadel when you ask it. Again, why is it so forthcoming now when it was dancing around you with words before?

Also, when you enter the Citadel, there is this part where Anderson says the walls are moving. You can see some of the walls move when you cross the chasm. The moving walls serve no purpose, there is no need for Anderson to point it out if it is meaningless. From ME2, the scientists on the disabled Reaper said it felt like walls were moving.

Guys, it's the other way around - it's not Shep who was indoctrinated. Harbinger ID'd Bioware, so they wouldn't give us "proper" ending. And now he's sitting in his base, smoking a cigar and laughing at us...

(this post was sponsored by letter "B" - as in I Believe in ID theory).

1. What's wrong with modeling after a transsexual (not say that that was the case)? You pick a random transgendered person and then you try to ridicule Ashley's design, as if the likeness portrays all transgenders the same way. I don't know what to say other than I'm pissed.

2. ME3 did a promotional thing with The Walking Dead, fyi.

A wild shot in the dark.  We fought harbinger in ME2.  No problem.  No magic rays.  Just a tougher guy to beat.

I don't see no magic in the harbinger bean in ME3, just a lucky direct hit while shields were down or weak and armor was compromised.

That's right.

And you're right.

They've sprinkled just about enough information to get you to start thinking.

And just enough information for people like me to argue against you.

They did all these to provide cover for the fact that they got lazy at the end and couldn't deal with the deadlines.

We are trying to EXPLAIN the ending, not make it HAPPIER. Neither this theory nor the god kid space magic theory live up to biowares promises. So pointing out that it goves no closure does Nothing to discredit the Hallucination, the idea that it was all real and space magic happened doesnt give closure either.

And why oh why are you trying to explain the ending?

That's not your job, that's the storyteller's job.

Now if ME Franchise has been some kind of post modernism game like LIMBO and every installement has ended with some kind of cliffhanger/mindrape/twist, feel free to explain this one away.

But ME Franchise has not.

I attempted to elucidate both the facts and evidence supporting this theory on page 468 of this thread.   I pointed out that this thread is not attempting to guarantee any further continuation from Bioware although it does provide some possible evidence of that.

We have been speculating that some portions of the end may be in fact an indoctrination attempt or a hallucination. This has been enjoyable and for some provided a viewpoint that allows them to enjoy replaying the games again where otherwise they might not.

Few to none of the contributors to this thread have made a blanket statement that this is factually the real ending. Your continued opposition to our viewpoint is fine, but it seems to me you are getting more enjoyment out of slamming the thread than making detailed points against some of the more persuasive evidence.

There is plenty of speculation in this thread that is provably wrong on further investigation, but there is also plenty that is arguably well founded and verified.

If you are going to contribute do so with contrary evidence, not vitriol. This thread is not about Bioware's inherent evil or capitalistic behavior.

I mean hell, I even believe that this is partially a means for Bioware to cash in more later myself, but that again, has nothing to do with the purpose of this thread.

Contribute or move on.
