I'd also like to point out that they aren't ignoring complaints about the ending on twitter. if anything they are more likely to respond to it. Almost as if they know something.

I could never get around to confirming when "wake up" happens with the god child. I'd have to play through the final mission 4 times to make sure its not just a paragon/renegade player difference, since apparently everything is calculated from the point at which you head to cerberus HQ.

It does happen with EMS. Low EMS will give you an angry "Why are you here?" while a high EMS will give you a calm, yet commanding "Wake Up". Why with the low EMS? Probably because Harbinger thinks you're not worthy to be on the Citadel if you have such low power.

Well... gotta go sleep, i am out for today guys. I guess i will start a playthrough of Baldur's Gate until we have an official responce from Bioware, at least that game had a good ending.

Dunno if this has been posted, just thought I'd mention something Javik just said to me.

"Subjugating the Reapers will not bring victory, only their extinction will."

That's Javik for you.  It's probably true, but remember he hates AI.  He also tells you to throw Legion out the airlock.

Don't forget, the ME3 ending might actually be the greatest ending in gaming history if Bioware takes our advice.

Here's something for everyone to ponder. First some honesty - I don't believe in any of these theories. I hold to the theory that Bioware wrote these, said, "Wow, this really deconstructs traditional narratives. We are awesome. Use these endings." That being said, I like to add fuel to fires:

Consider the dream sequences. In those sequences you're chasing the child, albeit very slowly. In the end, you're moving just as slowly as you do in your dreams. Thus, the dreams act as precursors to indoctrination. The dreams serve to remind Shepard of what he's lost - they break down his psyche, his will to fight, his ability to hope, etc. It's a form of psychological warfare that the Reapers use in order to break down his will, this way they can finally set the stage where the indoctrination can begin.

As for why the VI never picks up your indoctrination, it's because you haven't been indoctrinated. Rather, the dreams act as a way for the Reapers to "set the stage." Shepard is very strong-willed, so he can't be indoctrinated. The indoctrination doesn't officially begin until the very ending. Prior to that, the Reapers are exploring Shepard's mind. How are they doing this? Cerberus used Reaper technology, and some of that technology found its way onto the Normandy (even after Alliance refurbishing).

This is why in ME2 Harbinger is all about saving Shepard and making sure he's not destroyed rather than just destroying him. The Reapers realize that by indoctrinating Shepard they will be able to end their war a whole lot quicker and more efficiently. What transpires on the Citadel is this action.

Furthermore, one could also argue that from the moment he passes out after the death of Anderson is when the hallucination begins. In fact, this would make some sense as everything to that point is still relatively real. While this might negate my first point somewhat, it still serves as a plausible alternative.

Regardless, I don't believe anything I just wrote, but find it funny and will let people run with it. And who knows, maybe Bioware will read it and go, "OMG! This is our way out!"

Same here.
He appears to be cured of his disease and he gets to be with the love of his life.

It is the most beautiful ending if taken at face value.

Its also the one that makes the least sense by far.

I mean, at least with control you seem to assimilate yourself into the catalyst or some such, and with destroy you destroy it or something, but in Synthesis, how does it manage to turn everyone into robots? It doesnt even try to explain it.

If the Reapers had a robot ray, why didnt they ever use it?

This might be getting off topic, but when I saw the pod I began to wonder if it would turn out that he was a criminal or something.  It wasn't quite that, but I figured that it wouldn't be nearly as positive as Liara had hoped.  I guess I was right.

VIs are not alive.  I guess he just doesn't trust AIs.  Or it could be that his people were in a war with AIs.  Then when that war had been going on for a while, the Reapers show up and kill his whole race.  Just a thought.

I don't think so, I'm kind of the same. Managed to start a second play through and I'm back on Earth about to have the final talk with the squad and head off, can't seem to bring myself to do it again though. These endings as they are, are killing replay value for me, and I have quite a few Sheps ready to import...

Dunno if this has been brought up before, but EDIs eyes are an awful lot like TIMs, could EDI have more reaper tech in her?

I mean she is awfully sophisticated, more so than perhaps any other synthetic in the game. Her hair helmet can seperate in to little nanofibers and such? Making the Geth awfully jealous there girl, you know Legion just wants to emerge from an ocean and whip his hair around; why you gotta be temptin'?

I remember TIM commenting at some point about how he knew she would find the body tempting. Could she have exposed the whole ship to reaper tech influence?

Yeah,  I haven't even finished the game yet, and now I'm not sure I will be able to finish it knowing how bad the endings are.  I hope things get fixed.  I want to have the incentive to not only finish ME3, but also go back and play MEs 1 and 2 again.:(
