Hey guys, sorry if this has already been put on this thread, I can never really keep track, but this article has some more "cryptic messages" about the "endings" of ME3 from Bioware:

http://www.thevine.c...le20120314.aspx

Okay,  I take my back my comments about Bioware. I wonder do you actually more insight by playing it through the second time.

From what I've heard, yeah - you do pick up on some things, but the experience is mostly identical.

That said, I know I asked before if anyone had done a NewGame+ and gotten anything different (people said no). Let me follow that up:

Has anyone done a NewGame+ on Insanity and seen anything new/different/altered?

A quick question, if I may, for a theory I'm mulling over: Do you get the ending with Joker and Edi emerging from the crashed Normandy with every ending you choose? I chose synergy myself, so saw it. But what about the other options?

You see it for all the options.

The only difference is in the synergy option joker and the rest of the crew are synthetic, where as they are normal in the other 2.

As well, (What most of the theory is based on.) if certain requirements are met, you get a cut scene after the normandy crashes where presumably shepard is gasping for air, in some london rumble. Which makes no sense since if it is shepard, how did he get back down to london.

Thanks very much. So this business of the Star Child declaring an option  of destroying all synthetic life just isn't actually true then? I can't remember which option it was, but he talks about destroying the reapers, the geth and all AI life, doesn't he? So how's EDI still alive regardless?

Essentially it is summed up as: The beam knocks shepard out. harbinger attempts to indoctrinate Shepard into seeing it the Reaper way. Choosing Destroy breaks the control over you. The other two succumb to it..

Nothing actually occurs between the knock out time and the Shepard takes a breath time.

Oh. I'm just  trying to rationalise the kid's statements regarding your choices. So it seems to be the consensus view that the kid is an illusion created in Sheperd's mind by Harbinger, using the Reaper tech Shep has installed, in a last-ditch attempt to prevent the destruction of all those ancient races that have gone before us into Reaperhood, and to that end he basically lies to further his goal?

The child makes destruction out to be the worst ending, with the other two being portrayed in a MUCH more favorable light. The choice you make doesn't actually kill off the reapers/control them/merge organics with synthetics. The cinematics are meant to be what Shepard is "seeing" as a result of his actions. All the thigns he sees is based off information he has gained in the game. From The relays blowing up because the child said so, to Joker, the LI, and your closest team member (one you talked to most_) landing on a safe planet away from any fighting near a beach.

By choosing destruction you are saying **** you to the indoctrination and that's what leads to the shepard breathign scene if your EMS is 5k+. Note that that is the only way to get that scene and is largely considered the perfect ending as it is the most difficult to attain.

These are all theories though, so don't take anythign here as gospel truth. It's just a very ncie steppign stone to make sense of all the hints that seem to be dropped in the game.

Elaborate? Did you edit this?

Someone did. The asset is actually named "HMM_ARM_GRD_MDL", so someone photoshopped in Harbinger.

You can find out yourself by downloading umodel and running the following command from the folder (assumes Windows 7 64-bit, remove the (x86) for 32-bit OS):

umodel "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\CookedPCConsole\\BioD_End002_500Choice.pcc" "HMM_ARM_GRD_MDL"

You can also export a list of all of the models in that package using this command:

umodel "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\CookedPCConsole\\BioD_End002_500Choice.pcc" -list >> package-list.txt

You'll find a list in a new file named "package-list.txt", should be easy to search.

No model by the name shown in the image is in that package and that package has not been modified since I installed the game.

Oh, and I don't know how much this means, but like a lot of folks here I dashed out to download UE viewer to check that Harbinger thing.  Afterwards I thought why not and started poking around some other ending files.  Went into BioA_End001_920Beam.pcc.  Those weird trees?  Object: DreamTree01_DiffDreamTree01_Diff  Opponents will always go back to the "recycled models" line, but it strikes me as curious they're labeled "dream trees" internally.

Or that you shouldn't take everything you see at the end as fact. I'm more inclined to believe that it was more referring to this theory

I am one of those "Recycled models" people... HOWEVER. If they are specifically named "dream trees".... then that I admit, would be telling. There are plenty of other trees in the game not under that title that could fit more appropriatly.

Wow, been following this since the early double-digit pages, and combined with a 2nd playthrough where I got the rubble/gasp cutscene at the end, I can't help believing in this theory now - so much does indeed seem to fit! My rational mind, still bruised by the endings, refuses to commit fully to the hope, but I can honestly say I'd be very surprised if BW doesn't have something major planned... don't know how soon they'll announce, but it'd be kinda cute if it was April 11, Shep's b-day :-)

seems like they're all trolling us on their twitter accounts more now than ever.

I don't know aobut Bioware, but I liked to be WINED AND DINED BEFORE I GET :o

Yeah, and I don't know about you, but I usually like to know it's going to happen before it happens.

BTW earlier when i mentioned that Lt Kaidan twitter account... He DMd me something in reply to me asking how did he get on the Normandy and leave me down there at the beam(jokingly), in the DM he said "Shepard's subconscious has his squad holding the reapers back at the beam. And also has Joker swoop in to save them"

So i guess thats his theory... I don't know who is behind the account :)

Ok indoctrinites and hallucinators, was going through the game files and inside the epilogue files (yes, many are labeled something like end_003epilogue, this one is just end_003)  I was going through the one that carried all the assets for the jungle planet the Normandy crashes on (yes, it is named jungle_planet), but inside there is 2 pieces of art, with 3 different mattes of each:

Haha, yeah, I thought that was a little strange when I looked back on the ending.  Wasn't he looking at TIM from the corner of his eye, until he said that line?

Okay, if people think the Indoctrination theory is convoluted, yet expect most people to extrapolate all of that from the ending, they're out of their minds.

More than likely it will be no earlier than PAX East if things are already in the tube.

I mean, it's kind of odd to have a whole panel devoted to a game post release (even if it is ME).

Possible dates for official information: 15 March (Ides of March, Asian release), 1 April (come on..),6 April (during PAX East), 11 April (Shepard's birthday).

Interesting catch on the dream trees.
