2) When you go the wrong way in the dream, you hear the Reaper noise.
What does the female voice say to you in the dream?
She says, "It is time to..... I can't make out what she says.

There's actually a video of the whispers... One of the voices is the Illusive Man saying "Shepard" and the woman's voice is saying something along the lines of "Excellent timing, glad you could make it."

Can someone help me explain if number 1 or 2 is true? I cant seem to pinpoint if shepard lies downwards or upwards. I always thought what may be the eye of a helmet was his lower and upper teeth , lying downwards.

That's his torso... Why would his N7 dog tages be ABOVE his head?

No, we don't know control is bad.  The only reason it would be bad is if it wasn't what we were lead to believe: that the Reapers become slaves of Shepard's will.  IF it did do that, it'd potentionally be better than destroying them.  I'm not a believer of the theory that power always corrupts.  It often does but not always.  If someone truly had complete control of the Reapers they could bring about a golden age with it.  Imagine those things patrolling colonies and ask yourself how many slavers and pirates are going to try their crap then.

The problem is that controlling the Reapers is unrealistic.  And the opponents of the theory that think starchild is actually being honest do really think that that ending lets Shepard have complete control of them.  It's the "bad" ending because it doesn't do that.  And it doesn't do that because this is an indoctrination attempt.

There is also a problem in THIS argument, which has been seen thousands of times in this conspiracy threads:

Why should the child LIE to you when he talks about control but don't lie to you when he talks about destroying the reapers.

You can't say you are going to be betrayed in this option but everything is ok with the other options. IF the destruction things work we also have to assume that the controlling thing works. If the child is a bad reaper it would lie to you in EVERY option, not only in this one.

Of course the child lies. For example, he says that one option is the destruction of The Reapers, The Geth and "ALL synthetic lifeforms". Yet in the cut scene at the end, in every single example, EDI is still alive and well. So, a lie, no?

So, the players who are currently pissed off with the ending and "holding the line" are the ones fighting the real world indoctrination. The players satisfied with the ending are in fact giving in to the indoctrination.

I like it. I like this theory a lot. If BioWare pulls this off it will be the most amazing PR stunt the gaming world has ever seen. They will go down in history as masters of interactive media and creating a connection between human beings and their digital characters that no other developer has done before...

... or as the greatest trolls ever.

Till then, hold that damn line!

Pretty much.

Personally I find it reinforced by a quote Casey made about doing something never done before, where they make the player feel something their character does.

You either give up hope and accept the endings given or you keep fighting it and believe its not the end.

The thing is wether or not anything comes from it or if they release some pre-end game DLC and call it a day and leave everyone scratching their noggins.

Oh damn, I remember that quote now! Either Casey was making it in reference to being the first game company to have a video game series that imported stories across 3 different games or..... well, this, really. What else could be mean? The ending generator has been seen in many games before it, the most recent being Deus Ex HR. Even then, that game did it better in providing an explanantion of the future of the universe you had a hand in creating. This game, which took players on a journey through 5 years of the best storytelling, was setting all of this up only to let it crash and burn in the final 2 minutes? Nu-uh. There have been enough hints, I'm ready to believe.

If I'm wrong, then I will stick to the theory. I can't hate Mass Effect.

Yeah. He made some pretty strong suggestion that what they were doing was going to be very unique and powerful for the gamer. Not the game.

It makes sense to me though - that total lack of control you have to question it. Even to the point of almost total abondment of the moderators from the forums. Seriously - beyond Woo and priestly once in a blue moon telling us to rope it in. We've been left to our own devices - but they've said on Twitter they're reading.

And yep - the game had so much polish, so many variations, so many in game cinematics that varied on so many things - to get a copy past ending that could be done in a short while and used on other character dialogue from Shepards squad? I just flat out refuse to believe BioWare would drop the ball THAT much. Even DA2 endings was nowhere NEAR this level of let down.

Can you show a video of this? In every destroy ending I have seen, there's no more EDI.

When you have EDI as a squad member on the final run - apparently she appears out of the Normandy. Haven't seen it myself though.

Just watched the dream scenes again and noticed how always when the boy starts burning there's this very weird, pulsating, vibrating sound in the background. It sounds almost exactly like what you hear when the Illusive man is controlling you at the ending.

Yeah, this is beyond simple denial. This is a legit, intelligent arguement that just gets more and more convincing over time.

Further to above - in the spoilers forum - beyond one on the first page - I had to go back 16 pages before seeing a topic with a mod comment in it.

Mid week.

On a BioWare forum.

Crazy.

I can't read this whole thread obviously but I have never seen this evidence posted.

This is the the first game in which dreams are introduced which opens the door for dreams to happen when you don't expect. Also in every dream Shepard has the child is present. I would consider this a dream sign. Further evidence that the ending is a dream.

I think it looks like stone or concrete. And if you listen closely you can hear a little wind.
Doubt that on the citadel is much wind, right.

The Citadel isn't concrete though. It's a station.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but whenever you kill the husks or the maruader after Harbinger's blast, their bodies just vanish. I can't remember bodies just disappearing anywhere else in the game after you've defeated them (or maybe I wasn't paying attention)
