I believe their original plan in the old script even was to leave the galaxy in shambles, but they're starting to realize that is definitely not what most people want.

If they make a Mass Effect 4 and the galaxy is in shambles it's not really Mass Effect anymore.

Why not?  The whole game is based around the concept of destruction and rebirth.  It fits in perfectly with the series.

The whole setting is about the mass relays, and the reapers, FTL, omni-tools, eezo, mass effect fields, etc. Most of that is destroyed with the current ending.

Just see the response today. New forum thread. "What would you have done?" as a response to the ending on Twitter. When people compliment meant it they just say thanks and not anything else. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I think something has been decided at the office.

this may be of topic but why are we blaming BioWare About endings as dlc. we sould be blaming EA. they are the most money hungry corrupt organization out there. they are the real world equivalent to Cerberus.

This is a thought that I came up with that I posted on another forum after ruminating for a while...

Ok, so let me first state that each dream sequence appears to vary and be tailored to each character you play? I've been watching clips to make sure I'm not crazy but they all differ. Anyways...

I've been thinking about the indoctrination theory, the dream sequences and the "godchild"/catalyst...and I thought...

In one of Shepard's dream sequences for my character, he does the typical running and what not. But there is a voice speaking to him. Someone or something saying "The enemy of my enemy...is my friend" or something to that effect. it's a bit unintelligible. I don't remember if there was any speaking in the dream before that, but it's a deep voice and sort of dark. You hear the same voice calling his name in the final dream sequence. Thinking even further into this subject, the voice sounds surprisingly and suspiciously close to Harbinger when you fought the collectors he had control over in ME2.

If the indoctrination theory is right, it would make sense. Since reapers can't directly suggest things to their indoctrinated thralls without turning them into vegetables, it would make sense that Shepard would hear Harbinger talk to him in his dreams which are more indirect and subliminal.

Just a thought. Going through my second play through I started thinking about it more in depth since the first playthrough I heard it, but didn't actually *listen* because I was still in awe and blown by all the events that had happened, and distracted by dialogue and what not.

Also, I stumbled upon this link going into more strange occurences in the game that suggest indoctrination as a possibility:

Did you kill Wrex in ME1? Because "The enemy of my enemy...is my friend" is what he says to you as you recruit him.

I was trying to figure out...I remember hearing someone saying that.  And now that you mention it, that was Wrex.  But still, you gotta admit that it's strange that none of his other dead collegues show up in the dreams and only the child takes precedence when no one ever notices him or Anderson never notices him talking to the child back on Earth during the first attack.

I wonder where the band Youtube user found that image. Is it a famous sci-fi painting or something?

Even if that is true in the OP. It still makes for a poor ending.

I also find it weird that you hear TIM along with dead colleagues.

His other dead colleagues do show up in his dream. Mordin, Legion, Thane, etc.The parts about the boy are creepy though, I think we'll find out at some point or another that the boy is in fact a reaper/harbinger who portrays itself as the boy to appeal to Shepards compassionate side and desire to save everyone.

Perhaps this has been brought up (the page sprouted 30 pages since I last looked at it...), but does anyone else find it kind of odd in retrospect that Casey said the ending wasn't just an "A, B, C" ending, and yet that's exactly--almost literally--what it is? Not in the, "Aww, gawd, wtf, lied to us like a total d-bag!" type way, but more of a, "This isn't the real ending..." way....

For 100 pages ive been trying to figure out how to post in this thread.. turrned out i didnt have ME3 registered... lol...

Anyway I think that the scene where Shepard takes a breath lying in the rubble is enough to know that the whole endgame sequence was a hallucination. Theres no way he wouldve survived this otherwise... What - he fell with the citadel on Earth and survived? No. The rubble is the ruins of London, its so obvious.. come on..

Oh man, you should see the ridiculous post claiming BioWare got their entire idea from the song... I'm a fan of the band and I think it's all stupid.

Like I've said before, and will continue to say, the people who continue to hate BioWare, will continue to find every possible way to hate BioWare.
