Do we know if anyone who is alive whispers in the dreams? If not TIM whispering Shepard is a big indicator something is off, could be that he relates there deaths to Cerberus but I doubt that.

For 100 pages ive been trying to figure out how to post in this thread.. turrned out i didnt have ME3 registered... lol...

Anyway I think that the scene where Shepard takes a breath lying in the rubble is enough to know that the whole endgame sequence was a hallucination. Theres no way he wouldve survived this otherwise... What - he fell with the citadel on Earth and survived? No. The rubble is the ruins of London, its so obvious.. come on..

This is the train of thought I wish more people would have. No need to delve into it too deep. It's all there, clear as crystal.

You're right, for the record.

I mean they do not manifest themselves.  It could be implied that the shadows are the individuals who have died from Shepard's decisions.  But you do not see Wrex standing by a tree or Mordin sitting on a bench.  That sort of thing.  You only hear their voices along with other random whispers.

And the part from the indoctrination entry on the codex says:

"Ultimately, the Reaper gains the ability to use the victim's body to amplify its signals, manifesting as "alien" voices in the mind."

Which makes me wonder...did anyone else in the party hear Harbinger talking to Shepard in ME2 whenever he controlled some of the collector forces to attack him?  Saying stuff like "I know this hurts you" etc.  It's all directed at Shepard.

EDIT: The codex also talks about the indoctrinated hearing buzzing or ringing in their ears...during Shepard's dream, each dream ends with the loud buzzing noise!

Oh snap, Priestley making that thread makes me think about starting the game from beginning and cutting myself off from teh internets for couple weeks in the hope of that the next time i blow away the conduit i could blow away something else after that.
What to do what to do.

Did you kill Wrex in ME1? Because "The enemy of my enemy...is my friend" is what he says to you as you recruit him.

I was trying to figure out...I remember hearing someone saying that.  And now that you mention it, that was Wrex.  But still, you gotta admit that it's strange that none of his other dead collegues show up in the dreams and only the child takes precedence when no one ever notices him or Anderson never notices him talking to the child back on Earth during the first attack.

I also find it weird that you hear TIM along with dead colleagues.

I think thats the indoctrination and not Shepard that puts all the weird people in the dreams.  They're trying to wear him down, and so of course theres going to be nothing that could inspire hope.

I don't hate Bioware. They make GREAT Games...

From Baldur's Gate to KOTOR to DA (yes I thought DA2 was decent) to ME1, 2 & first 98% of 3.

They're all great. But that last 2% of ME3...all meaningless.

Seriously I worked my ass off to unite the galaxy (and I got EVERY ally I could with Paragon options) only to actually screw them all by stranding them on earth AND oh yeah, by blowing up the Relays all those solar systems get destroyed too (at least the what the Arrival DLC said happens).

Just really ****tastic writing...

2nd play thru, just noticed oily shadows first appear in nightmares after genophage cure mission, at first I thought it was because of the grief due to loosing mordin, but then it dawned on me, genophage mission was also the first instance in me3 where Shepard had an up close battle with a reaper. This bolster indoctrination argument.

When does 3rd nightmare appear, not up to it yet on 2nd play through, at work right now lol. Does 3rd nightmare also correlate with in close reaper contact?

self bump

Don't know if this has been said, but why does the Catalyst adress the reapers as "us"? "We know you want to destroy us.." That wouldn't make sense if he was just their creator.

I'm trying to be optimistic. It seems like this really is true. All these different points make a LOT of sense. In fact, I would actually like the end game more...maybe the ending was meant to be deciphered so that when the add on/expansion/whatever actually happens...I dunno.

But it is all very suspicious, and I know that even on my first playhthrough when this theory didn't come about just yet and I had chosen the Destroy ending with 100% GR and about 5000+ EMS, when Shepard was still alive I was like O_O "How is this possibru?" I first thought maybe he didn't have reaper tech in him...but that couldn't be possible...then I thought the surroundings he is in look too similar to earth and not the citadel...

Yep, that's sure is obvious, like the fact that the catalyst looks like the young boy who died at the start of the game.

Great theories...this is much more exciting than the devastating, knee-jerk "NOOOOOOOO!" reaction I initially had to the ending, LOL. And it makes so much sense, I also noticed a lot of these points and thought they were odd. I can't wait for Bioware to finally stop teasing us with their non-committal replies. Confirm or deny, I just love a good mystery. XD

Someone who can't post here sent me a message with this(First in German then english!):

Hi, kann leider nicht selber im "Was the ending a hallucination"-thread posten.
Da
sieht mans deutlich in 720p File Format.

Danke, schönen Tag noch.

That means in english that the pipes at the end were from the Citadel and not from earth. Yeah, I noticed it that someone has posted this several times and hundreds of pages before, but it could be real!

Maybe Shepard surived the explosion on the citadel...

I personally think that is very silly but hey, everything is possible. We have not enough facts and informations :/

But...I think that we will get the answer very soon :D

Harbinger doesn't want Shepard did. He wants him to be his thrall.
