Mass Effect 2
We appreciate everyone’s feedback about Mass Effect 3 and want you to know that we are listening. Please note, we want to give people time to experience the game so while we can’t get into specifics right now, we will be able to address some of your questions once more people have had time to complete the game. Let’s also remember the man/woman that started this journey for us. What do you love most about your Commander Shepard? Please try to keep the discussion “spoiler-free."

Yes we know, they've said that a few days ago on Twitter as well, today was the release of ME3 in Asia, there waiting untill the majority over there finishes it so they can give some kind of statement.

All I see on this thread is

LOOK HOW ABSURD 'XXXX' IS?

THAT MUST BE INDOCTRINATION!!!

Its usually what people say when bad things happen to them you know... ''it was like a nightmare'' lol. Seriously people, stop wasting your time on a ridiculous theory.

Bottom line is Bioware screwed up. If Bioware comes out and says that it was a dream, that would be the most pathetic thing ever done. Its like coming up with Starcraft 3, changing everything and saying that Starcraft 2 was a dream i.e. retarded.

Knowing Bioware, they might even think doing something like this is great now that they need to reverse the ending somehow. But that would be like the ****tiest story ever written where you went through the stupidest ending ever.

In short, just admit that the story was so bad, you feel that it was a dream/nightmare because things didn't make sense. No need to rationalize.... just saying....

but it's so hard to stay optimistic :(

I don't understand why a theory is completely necessary to explain Shepard's indoctrination. The black marks on the screen, TIM controlling her, the Catalyst taking the form of a little child, and the vivid dreams (including the Normandy crash landing on a Planet that's not Earth) are all pieces of evidence based in codex lore regarding the subject. The delivery the writers used didn't exactly come across in the best way, and that is why everyone is so confused and/or nerdraging.

Final Hours provides no hard evidence other than these facts:
The ending was planned. That could mean anything, that indoc was real, or it wasn't. Both would have been 'planned'

It's funny, someone who believes in the indoctrination theory says something about hard evidence.

That's why it is a theory. It is based on observations from the game. Observations can be considered as hard evidence if they are consistent with the theory. Final hours provides no evidence, and others like you who were quick to jump on the 'omg we're doomed, bioware sucks' wagon seemed to miss the part where;

A. Final hours is based on many variables that were subject to change, it was created during the design process.
and
B. The word likely, does not mean definitely.
'Whatever we do would likely happen before or during the events of Mass Effect 3, not after' Even if that were the case, indoc takes place during ME3, not after.

And if you're wrong, then egg and your face will be in alignment. If it was planned from the start to mind screw the audience then it's a masterstroke. It's not retconning if it was planned oh ye of little faith.

BW directs us to an article with important facts from outside the game.

Said article ends with a bio of TIM, including "Jack Harper escaped with his life and became the Illusive Man, but that close contact with a Reaper artifact clearly affected him, leaving his eyes forever changed, usually an early sign of indoctrination."

Yeah, we indoctrination theorists are the ones in denial.  We're the ones who need to accept reality.

Yes, of course. A theory based on observations is ridiculous. Oh wait... that's pretty much every theory that ever existed, including gravity, the big bang, evolution etc etc...

If you people mustered up the erudition to actually scroll back through the pages and read, you would notice we are not simply stating 'X is stupid so Y must be true'.

Guys, are you still seriously sticking to this whole indoctrination thing? It was just bad writing...the "Last Hours" documentary clearly confirms it. They show pictures of Mac Walters' ending development notes and nowhere does any of it mention indoctrination or any other subversive plot lines: the endings we got were the literal endings were were always supposed to get.

I would *not* say, however, that ME3 is "dead" just because they planned these endings from the beginning (which was our original assumption before people started coming up with conspiracy theories in a desperate attempt to hold on to hope).

I'll say it again: it was just bad writing. It was a poorly-constructed, plothole-filled, badly-executed, nonsensical, bad ending to a good game. That's it. Feel free to download the Final Hours app if you don't believe me.

Time to let it go, refocus, and continue lobbying Bioware for alternate ending DLC.

Also, inb4 desperate attempts to make the indoctrination theory "work" in light of the documentary.

How very imaginative of you, Jules Vern.

Awesome, thank you.  Gonna face reality and join the rest of us in protest, or...?  Hey, I'm just glad that threads are no longer going to by constantly swarmed by "Teh ending was a dream!!!1!!" posts.

...I should go.

Did you even read the OP? The real ending is stupid and full of plot holes they can't be for real with that.

Yes, I have read the laborious OP.  Have you read the ending notes written directly by Mac Walters?  Which do you think provides better evidence for the writers' intentions?  Really...?

But no...9/11 was an inside job, Obama was born in Kenya, the Federal Reserve is controlled by the Illuminati, dinosaur bones were created by God to test our faith, and Bioware wrote notes for their ending before the game  even came out to throw us off the secret indoctrination they had planned and would have no current reason to deny.  Stick with that.

I just noticed after watching me2 ending, that the Normandy speeding away from the space magic is really similar to it speeding away from the explosion of the collector base (even the sound is the same^^)
Shepard might really just piece this together from past experiences
