All I see on this thread is

LOOK HOW ABSURD 'XXXX' IS?

THAT MUST BE INDOCTRINATION!!!

Its usually what people say when bad things happen to them you know... ''it was like a nightmare'' lol. Seriously people, stop wasting your time on a ridiculous theory.

Bottom line is Bioware screwed up. If Bioware comes out and says that it was a dream, that would be the most pathetic thing ever done. Its like coming up with Starcraft 3, changing everything and saying that Starcraft 2 was a dream i.e. retarded.

Knowing Bioware, they might even think doing something like this is great now that they need to reverse the ending somehow. But that would be like the ****tiest story ever written where you went through the stupidest ending ever.

In short, just admit that the story was so bad, you feel that it was a dream/nightmare because things didn't make sense. No need to rationalize.... just saying....

This.

Yes, of course. A theory based on observations is ridiculous. Oh wait... that's pretty much every theory that ever existed, including gravity, the big bang, evolution etc etc...

If you people mustered up the erudition to actually scroll back through the pages and read, you would notice we are not simply stating 'X is stupid so Y must be true'.

Please do not compare scientific theories with something that amounts to faith in a perceived notion.

The two are essentially the same, just scientific theories having somewhat more convincing and widely accepted support. Look, if someone chooses to make more of the ending than you want to believe, does it really bother you? What, is this thread's count somehow disrupting the ability of some to dwell on the horrible ending of the game? The ray of player-inspired greater-than-given ending somehow interrupts the impotent anger of thsoe raging at bioware?

Guys, are you still seriously sticking to this whole indoctrination thing? It was just bad writing...the "Last Hours" documentary clearly confirms it. They show pictures of Mac Walters' ending development notes and nowhere does any of it mention indoctrination or any other subversive plot lines: the endings we got were the literal endings were were always supposed to get.

I would *not* say, however, that ME3 is "dead" just because they planned these endings from the beginning (which was our original assumption before people started coming up with conspiracy theories in a desperate attempt to hold on to hope).

I'll say it again: it was just bad writing. It was a poorly-constructed, plothole-filled, badly-executed, nonsensical, bad ending to a good game. That's it. Feel free to download the Final Hours app if you don't believe me.

Time to let it go, refocus, and continue lobbying Bioware for alternate ending DLC.

Also, inb4 desperate attempts to make the indoctrination theory "work" in light of the documentary.

How very imaginative of you, Jules Vern.

Awesome, thank you.  Gonna face reality and join the rest of us in protest, or...?  Hey, I'm just glad that threads are no longer going to by constantly swarmed by "Teh ending was a dream!!!1!!" posts.

...I should go.

Did you even read the OP? The real ending is stupid and full of plot holes they can't be for real with that.

Yes, I have read the laborious OP.  Have you read the ending notes written directly by Mac Walters?  Which do you think provides better evidence for the writers' intentions?  Really...?

But no...9/11 was an inside job, Obama was born in Kenya, the Federal Reserve is controlled by the Illuminati, dinosaur bones were created by God to test our faith, and Bioware wrote notes for their ending before the game  even came out to throw us off the secret indoctrination they had planned and would have no current reason to deny.  Stick with that.

I'm trying to be nice to you.

For the record:

Federal Reserve and the rest of the word is controlled not by the Illuminati but by the men who attend Bohemian Grove every year.

But what do I know I'm just an ignorant BSN member. If you don't believe in what we are saying here you can leave.

I don't understand why a theory is completely necessary to explain Shepard's indoctrination. The black marks on the screen, TIM controlling her, the Catalyst taking the form of a little child, and the vivid dreams (including the Normandy crash landing on a Planet that's not Earth) are all pieces of evidence based in codex lore regarding the subject. The delivery the writers used didn't exactly come across in the best way, and that is why everyone is so confused and/or nerdraging.

It might also have been done in a way to keep it as vague as possible.

Yes, BioWare IS that smart.

Go and read the "Mass Effect 3: Final hours" thread and you'll see that they really ain't.

I did, and guess what? Everything there is as vague as possible.

Every single theory the human race has ever created has been from observation. 'faith in a perceived notion' can be equally attributed to, for example, the Big Bang. These are things we cannot prove, and likely will never prove. They are things that we have thought up based on how we percieve the Universe. We attempt to explain them based on our observations and how they fit within the theory.

My beliefs on this do not change until I hear something direct from Bioware. I don't think they'd let something this potentially important get leaked via third party. That being said, I thought the articles were really good, but the ending made me depressed.

Still believe in indoctrination theory.

And if you're wrong, then egg and your face will be in alignment. If it was planned from the start to mind screw the audience then it's a masterstroke. It's not retconning if it was planned oh ye of little faith.

lol no. I don't think ryou read what I said. Even if they did plan to do this from the begining, it would still be the ****tiest thing ever. Why?

Because it can be done with anything. Marcus hit is head so hard at the begining of Gears 3 that Dom's death was him hallucinating. Halo 3 was a dream from the part where Chief jumped off a space ship and hit the earth hard at the begining.

In other words, its retarded. You know how there is something called a 'cheap shot'? This falls in to that category.

So it won't be the greatest story ever told or greatest game ever sold. It would be the psychological text book case where fans were in such denial over the ending that they brought the idea that 'it was all a dream''.

BECAUSE they would spill the beans about unannounced final ending or dlc of some sort when game just finished coming out world wide on some $3 ipad app documentary.....

common sense. we still have NO IDEA what they are doing, but we do know MORE information will be shared "when more people have had time to complete the game"

So, you know how it was stated that there would be no POST-game DLC? Well, isn't a DLC that has extra content that includes Shepard waking up, regrouping with his squad, and finishing the fight to be a DURING event, rather than post?

A. Final hours is based on many variables that were subject to change, it was created during the design process.
and
B. The word likely, does not mean definitely.
'Whatever we do would likely happen before or during the events of Mass Effect 3, not after' Even if that were the case, indoc takes place during ME3, not after

Oh my God. So many idiots on this forum. I cannot believe you just compared a theory that a character in a video game was indoctrinated during the final few minutes to that of 9/11. Please, leave this forum and never return.

I was just listing other inane and desperate conspiracy theories to compare yours to.  Sorry; less political examples did not come to mind.

But setting all that aside...just what WOULD convince you that this whole indoctrination theory was a waste of time?

A statement directly addressing it from Bioware?  Doubt it, you would just say they are trolling you or that it's part of a some mass marketing indoctrinate-the-gamers nonsense.

New ending DLC that doesn't even mention indoctrination?  No, because THAT ending would be fake too...the REAL ending is only for us SMART gamers to know...

Mac Walters personally coming over to your house to explain the ending to you?  I dunno, you would probably argue with him.

Please: give to child's play, participate in the new ending forums, and protest what was just a bad call on Bioware's part.  Hell, request that an indoctrination ending be included in future dlc!  But this...this is just getting sad.
