jules_vern18 wrote... I was just listing other inane and desperate conspiracy theories to compare yours to.  Sorry; less political examples did not come to mind.

But setting all that aside...just what WOULD convince you that this whole indoctrination theory was a waste of time?

A statement directly addressing it from Bioware?  Doubt it, you would just say they are trolling you or that it's part of a some mass marketing indoctrinate-the-gamers nonsense.

New ending DLC that doesn't even mention indoctrination?  No, because THAT ending would be fake too...the REAL ending is only for us SMART gamers to know...

Mac Walters personally coming over to your house to explain the ending to you?  I dunno, you would probably argue with him.

Please: give to child's play, participate in the new ending forums, and protest what was just a bad call on Bioware's part.  Hell, request that an indoctrination ending be included in future dlc!  But this...this is just getting sad.

Please, don't insult my intelligence. Especially after the ridiculous comment you made a few minutes ago. Is this your attempt at trying to make up for that? Because boy is it not working.

I do think the Child's Play thing is great, and I've been watching the protest as well. Honestly, I think bioware left the ending with a bunch of plot holes so that if (and likely when) there was significant outrage, they could choose to do something about it easily, or ignore it and call it art. Like with movies which have some missing closure because they want the potential sequel, in the meant time or if the sequel never comes it is terrible.

Here's the thing.

If we're wrong. I'm sure we'll be dissapointed but we won't go calling BioWare every name in the book. We'll accept defeat and move on. If we don't like BioWare anymore, so be it, but we won't be ignorant.

I can't say the same for the people who are trying to disprove this theory, they'll keep on it, telling us how stupid we are and blah blah blah.

And I bet if we're right, we'll be civil in our excitement too.

Can trolls just shut up, youre either hear to read about the theory and post for or against it, not to start up random fights with other people who have useful information to share with the rest of us or criticize the people here who are trying to make sense of it all. If you dont agree the theory give us legitimate reasons why, not "bioware sucks face it" crap like that.

Well I've decided - regardless of what Bioware ever says/does about the ending... this is totally going to be the theory that's in my mind. They can't take that away from me :-)

Its one of the biggest threads in this forum. Trolls are attracted to large threads.

Why do people not actually examine the damn ending and look for the clues presented before telling everyone its a stupid idea?

This isn't just "omg i don't wanna believe it, i wont!" this theory is based on actual evidence within the game that's hidden right under your damn nose. People in this thread simply took the time to examine it rather then take everything at face value.

Come on, either the theory is true or all the ending's confusing little **** ups all align completely on accident to form a very coherent picture. Whats REALLY less likely?

Just like there is no canon Shepard. There might not be a canon end. If they leave it open then ere is nothing to argue about what ever you want to happen could. It's the perfect way to make people happy.

Someone better at photoshop than me (which is everyone ever born) should make a picture of one of those escaped yahgs at the STG base screaming how we need to accept reality and stop being in denial. It's what I picture everytime I see the word "troll" here.

Speaking of which, was anyone else SHOCKED that we never wound up having to fight one of the escaped yahgs?

Is anyone else worried about the posted stuff around the forums from "The Final Hours of Mass Effect" where they discuss possibilities for DLC's and state that the event of these DLC's will take please either before the events of ME3 or during...

Tomorrow I'm using my emergency induction port to drown my sorrow ;)

Btw, I'm watching the new ME3 Trailer "The War Begins" () ... my thought is look how optimistic/heroic/good-ending-like the trailer/music... it's kind of ironic...

"Jack Harper escaped with his life and became the Illusive Man, but that close contact with a Reaper artifact clearly affected him, leaving his eyes forever changed, usually an early sign of indoctrination. "
remember Shepard eyes in the first two endings? Looks like good evidence to indoc. theory? Make perfect sense IMO

Davies, entertaining though your indignation is, it was my intention to insult your intelligence.  The lead writer's end-game notes came out and you still can't let go of your disproven theory!

And YES, I compared you to Birthers and Truthers.  Is it an apt comparison in terms of scope or context? No.  In terms of rabid denial of any contradictory evidence, desperate clinging to theories even as they dissolve, and inability to acknowledge any circumstance in which you might be wrong?  YES.  A THOUSAND TIMES YES.

True!  I totally *want* them to "man up" and either they planned this intentionally (brilliant) or figure out that if they take this idea and run with it, even if not what was planned, that's still pretty smart - especially the "keeping the loyal fans happy" part.  Just saying regardless of what happens I can at the very least believe this explanation ha ha.

I don'y understand why people focus on whether BioWare was planning this or not, a better ending DLC or some form of elaboration will be required to win over the community. Indoc theory works, this is a fact whether or not they intended it to be there. So there is a good chance it will get picked up and used either way.

Quoting myself from another thread:

Humakt83 wrote...

It says they removed the gameplay element that would have in essence made indoctrination theory OBVIOUS to everyone. What kind of conclusion it is then to say that indoctrination theory is dead when they did not want to make it obvious? If it had been made obvious, there would not have even been theory in the first place.

LOGIC, PEOPLE. LOGIC.

After carefully reading your theorys and observasions i think bioware would be fools not to make it look like this is what they had planned all along if they dont already i agree that the game seems tattered and almost sureal how you randomly jump from place to place with no real founding of it like how do you just randomly find that cerberus science base with jack in it? and also wouldnt you still have contact with some of the originals like liara from ME?

Even better, I took Liara and Garrus.  Got this:

*yahg escapes*
Shepard:  Careful.  There goes the next Shadow Broker.
Garrus:  I could've sworn I heard him muttering "T'Soni..." the whole time.
Liara:  Not funny!
